I love this site, we have been here loads of times.
Its very near the outlet, and use the park and ride a lot, lots of other out of town shopping, monks cross and cliffton retail park.
The shower and toilet is always clean, as everyone always cleans up after them selves. There is a lovely wood next to the site that is a nice walk.
Ann and Ken are two lovely people as they let you park where you like and there's no hurry to leave either, they keep it well maintained too.
There is a bus stop just outside easy for getting on and off either to selby or york, nice for cycling.
There's plenty of water points so you don't have to walk far! Also elsan point, that's no where near the vans.
All in all a lovely relaxing site to go to.

Just returned from a wet weekend at this site.
The site was small, peaceful and relaxing just what we were looking for. I would have added quiet but there is a cockerel next door which likes to let you know it's awake at 6 o'clock in the morning. The first morning it was annoying but the second morning it's didn't seem as loud! (don't know if I'd got used to the idea by then).
The facilities are basic 1 shower and 1 toilet in the same block. It wasn't a problem as it wasn't too busy.
There are no washing up facilities but we were self sufficient.
The woodland down the track next to the bungalow is ideal for dogs and an eerie peaceful walk.
The lady who owned it was helpful, very friendly and just left us alone to get on with our weekend.
There were 2 children on the site who were extremely well behaved and their dad did a brilliant job at keeping them entertained as there wasn't anything for them to do. I wouldn't recommend it for children.
It is handy for York and the designer outlet is 5 mins away.
The £12. 00 per night + £1. 00 for EHU is a bargain. We will definitely be returning as it was ideal for us. A get-a-way from all the stresses and strains.

Just returned from a weekend at this site.
The lady owner was friendly enough when we arrived, and said there would be no rush to leave at any particular time on departure day.
Plenty of EHUs and water points on a grassy level site. Shower and 1 toilet very basic.
The woods nearby are accessible from a track next door to the site and a bus stop is just outside the site for buses into York.
The road alongside the site was really noisy at commuter times and as it is on a straight stretch of road vehicles speed along there at all times. Entrance to the site could do with a tidy up. Personally would not use this site again.

Management response: Please note as of 2019 the campsite is under new management, so some older reviews may not fully reflect the current situation. |

Tried to book a site near York at short notice for the half term weekend.
The lady owner was very friendly on the phone and there was a pitch available.
As previous reviewers have mentioned this is a small 10 van, all grass site with electric hookups and a clean toilet & shower.Current pitch price is £12 per night with no additional charges for awnings.
The road that runs alongside is noisy at commuter times but otherwise acceptable.
P&R for York nearby, next to Designer Outlet.Would consider using site again especially in the summer months.

We're just back from our 2nd visit in 2 months, and we're going again in July. I love this site. It's only small - 10 pitches - it's like camping in someones back garden.
The owners are friendly and helpful. It's a level field with hook up and water close by. Only 1 toilet and shower but as there are only 10 pitches it's fine, they are kept clean and tidy.
There is a retail park 5 minutes drive away and York is nearby too. Just down a lane behind the site is a little wood - perfect for the dog to let off steam chasing rabbits!
Was going to keep quiet about this one, but I'm in a good mood :)

This is only a small site so only one washroom/loo/shower but although the site was full there was no queueing. The grass was well mown and the field was flat
The dogs loved their stay here - I have never seen so many rabbits in one weekend and they really loved chasing them through the woods, although you do have to be careful not to walk them there when there are hunters about.
The site owners were very friendly and helpful.
It is a short drive to Park and Ride for York and there is a very large Designer shopping outlet nearby.

What a wonderful site.
Level, mown and well looked after, toilet and shower very clean and shower is FREE.
Owner Ken, was very friendly and advised us on where to go to fish, shop etc.
Lovely wood to walk the dog right next to the site, will definitely be visiting again.
