The site is in great location for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. There is a garden centre over the road with a café and The Antelope pub by the Menai Bridge is good value and within walking distance.

The Campsite facilities consist of a toilet and shower block with washing up areas and Elsan points. The toilets and showers have a basic clean daily, which mostly consists of washing the floors and wiping around the sinks. The toilets themselves were not properly cleaned for the 3 day duration of my stay, I did not use the washing up areas so cannot comment on the cleanliness of those. As other reviews have stated there was a problem with drainage from the showers meaning the floors were always wet and therefore usually covered in muddy footprints. Hand wash and toilet roll were kept well stocked.

The main campsite and facilities are kept well lit at night without being obtrusive so it was easy to go to the loo without a torch from the overflow pitch where I was sited. There is also an academy golf course (free to use), Driving range (£5 for 100 balls) and a fishing lake on site.

The main point of concern however is the fact that due to rather relaxed booking criteria (what size tent and your name), for the first and second nights of our 3 night stay we were sited near a stag party, which were very loud until 3. 30am on the first night and led to a stand up confrontation and much stress for me on the second night. When I, a rather upset woman dressed in nightie had finally had enough and walked into a group of rather tall drunk men to ask them to tone it down as my children were getting upset and were still very tired from the night before.

What needs to be pointed out here is that there is no warden on duty from 7pm until about 9am in the morning. There is a mobile number on the office door. However this is only answered during working hours (9ish to 7pm). This means that any problems with noisy/destructive campers you will either have to deal with it yourself or put up with it. Complaints were made to the management of the site by me and other campers after the first night. We were told that the warden would go and see them and ask them to tone it down, but as the stag party had gone out for the day if they did not get back before the warden finished at 7pm then there was nothing else they were prepared to do. When I questioned the lack of night time warden I was told that there had been no need for it in the past.

The site does have the potential to be a great place to stay if booking procedures where tightened, a policy for noisy campers was established and out of hours contact was made available to deal with any problems were put into place.

We chose Treborth as a one-night stop-off from the Holyhead ferry.

I have to say it did the job well. It's a doddle to find off the main A55 as soon as you cross to the Welsh mainland. It can't be much more than 1/2 mile off the main road, yet it's secluded in a walled garden, and handy for Menai Bridge.

In the main area the pitches are loosely gravelled, but you have EHU, water tap and bin at each pitch. There is an overflow field too.

Toilets are OK, and good wash-up areas are provided.

BT Openzone is available.

A 5 or 10 minute walk brings you to the Antelope pub adjacent to the Menai Bridge : drinkies and basic food is offered, but you've a great view of the bridge from the tables out back.

It's not badly located to tour North Wales either.

We stayed at this site over the May holiday its a nice site with limited space for tourers as most pitches are taken by seasonal caravans

The toilets (2) were kept clean but the water from the 2 showers overflowed into the toilet area so they were usually wet.

The showers cost £1 for a very long hot shower - well worth the money

The walks around the site are lovely as the site is in the grounds of what looks to be an old country house. Its not far from Anglesey and you can walk into Bangor from the site

We had a very nice stay

A well located site a couple of minutes from the A55 and the bridges over to Anglesey, as well as being close to Bangor. Lovely view of the golf course and woodland from the tent area. We went on a nice walk down a lane to the Menai Bridge and back through the university botanical gardens. There is a running track which you can access off the same walk so we went jogging one morning. The children did crazy golf at the adjacent driving range and as we in a large group we were given a large discount. The children made friends at the play park which was adequate. The staff (especially the young man I think called Josh) were really friendly and helpful. The electric tent pitches are rather short so we pitched on the grass opposite and ran the EHU over. Pitches were neatly cut on arrival and all looked nice. Pitches were sheltered from strong winds by a lovely stone wall and a well-trimmed hedge.

However the campsite just don’t seem to have got it right. The toilets on the tent field are grim and didn’t appear to be cleaned during our 3 night stay, we didn’t use them. The newer toilet block servicing the caravan was perfectly adequate but not checked often enough and was not cleaned thoroughly dust and dirt remained on shelving and the sinks throughout our stay. Toilet roll and paper towel ran out in the afternoon and was not replaced until the following day. Both the ladies and mens had soaking wet floors throughout our stay even though it was sunny outside, it seemed as though there must have been a leak. I was really concerned that someone would slip and attempted mopping up myself but the mop could not be wrung out properly and made the floor wetter having been soaking in yucky water. Showers although cramped were piping hot for £1. The newer pot wash again in the caravan area was ideal with nice hot water but was not cleaned at all during our stay. There was months of spider’s poo on both corners of the drainer and other dirt smeared over the sink and drainer. I had to go to the toilets and fetch paper towel and use my own sanitizer before I could put anything on the draining board.

We had tried to get in Riverside camping about 8 miles away but it was full. We much prefer Riverside who do seem to have got it right in terms of facilities and cleanliness.

Reviewer: Anggg 1 review from this member

Just returned from a stay at treborth and after hunting for reviews for what static caravans are like before I went and not finding one decided to leave review in case other people search in future,

We stayed in one of their statics for a week,

The staff are very friendly and we were greeted as soon as we arrived and helped with our cases,

The caravan was basic but very clean and tidy and had everything you could need, the only thing I felt it was missing was a microwave would of been handy,

The site itself is lovely, very pleasant with a lake and golf course, with lovely walks,

We do not drive but its a 10 min walk to the bridge which has regular bus services running from there to pretty much anywhere you want to visit in the area, there is a lot to do in anglessey.

All staff here are very friendly and the people who live in the cottage who I think are year round tenants are also very helpful and friendly,

I only had one issue and that is my 4 year old daughter managed to lock herself in the toilet, the people who lived in the cottage were really good and helped us get her out but we were lucky that my daughter was 4 and we were able to tell her to stand back from the door while a knife was put through the gap to enable the door to be unlocked she was in there though for a good 40 mins, if this had been a younger child of 1 or 2 it could of been a lot more serious issue so I do think that the locks should be made child friendly and maybe able to be opened from the outside.

I also noticed that the other 3 statics were empty the whole time we were there and I do feel as its slightly out of the way place maybe if prices were lowered a little they would get more people in,

I would though wholly recommend this as a lovely safe quiet friendly place to stay and will definitely be returning as there is so much to do in the area and we had a great time and the kids loved it too.
Management response: Thank your for your visit and your comments. We are so delighted that you enjoyed your stay.

Sorry about not having a microwave in the static but you should have just come over to the office and asked and we could have put one into the static for you without any problem.

The other statics were actually rented for different period by the same group but unfortunately cancelled at the last moment.

We have listened to everyone comments and have tried our best to keep everyone happy - which as you know isn't possible but we are trying. We now have a warm shower and a hot shower, we have also put a booklet on the outside of the log cabin for anyone looking for ideas of what to do if they haven't visited the office where we give out lots of brochures and ideas of where to go and what to see.

Thank you again for everyone who visited this year and hopefully you will all be back next year when we hope the site will be even better - we will be slaving away over the winter to improve everything and make it all look even nicer.

Best wishes

The Management

We had seen this site many times in passing on our way back from Angelsey and noticed that lately it was looking 'smarter' so this year we gave it a go.

We think that the site is well managed, maintained and the staff are warm and friendly.

There was a 'handyman' that drove round each day and this reassured us that if we needed anything we could stop and ask him. He will give you a friendly wave and a smile.

Though the facilities are standard they are well maintained and cleaned every day. They try their best to suite all types of holiday makers and welcome any constructive feedback.

Although we did not have the best of weather we had a peaceful and rested stay.

There is a park area for children in the centre by the caravans with a slide, see-saw, swings and other play things including picnic tables.

The overflow area accommodates tents with and without electricity. The ground is mostly flat but well maintained. There is a dish washing area and drinking water very close by.

The main shower block and toilets are central to all campers and you get a very long time in the shower for your £1.

The lower Meadow field is large and it has a wooded area at the back of it sloping down to a babbling brook.

There is a top field that is right on top of the shower block that is set back from the main through path.

Over the road to the Treborth there is a large garden centre which has everything you could possibly need they also do a smashing cheep breakfast.

You are 3 mins by car from Angesey and on the road for the A55 so this makes it a great place to explore Wales.

We will be going back there very soon and would be pleased to recommend this site to any camper or caravanner.

We selected this site after enjoying our stay two years ago. The weather was appalling but the pitch(within the walled garden)was well protected.

The facilities have been upgraded and, whilst not being the most up-market we've ever seen, are more than adequate and there are nice touches like hand-wash in the toilet block.

The owners have obviously listened to earlier comments and have really made steps to improve the experience. We, too, were taken aback at the £1 charge for the showers but the hot water flows for ages.

Lovely places to walk with the dog and handy for a walk into Bangor or the bus-routes.

Only criticism is that there is little to advertise what's available - we noticed the lake and the golf facilities but weren't aware that they are available to campers - perhaps some better posters and information leaflets about what's what would help.

Despite some outdated reviews, Treborth Hall Farm seemed perfect for us and we were not disappointed. Clearly a lot of work has gone into the upgrades recently, particularly the toilet / shower facilities.

All of the staff that we met were friendly, helpful and most of all welcoming. We thought that the fees were very reasonable and the pitches were good and not overcrowded. Our pitch was provided with a hook up. The site itself was well maintained. Our young cocker spaniel enjoyed herself too.

No shop ~ so what! Waitrose & Morrisons nearby.

No club / pub ~ hurray! Antelope pub very close for good ale & food.

Having called in to 'reccy' other sites we are glad that we chose Treborth and will visit again soon. I think I will make room in the car for my fishing tackle next time!

Visited this site over the jublilee weekend, warm welcome from staff and owner, we had plenty of space for our tent we had electricity. The grounds are very well kept.

Toilet blocks/ washing up facilities were clean, you had to pay for the showers which were a £1 for 10 mins, not a problem to us, been on other sites where we have paid 20p and the shower goes off before you even had a chance to wash.

We took our two dogs with us, plenty of space to walk them which is very important to us. Garden centre on the main road facing the site, quite surprised when we went in, to see DIY products, toys, cafe which does takeways it was like a mini store, Tesco/morrisons are a short car ride away.

The antelope pub is about a 15 minute walk down the lane and then over the bridge the lane is accessible at the back of the site.

Overall this site is one of the best ones we have been on. This site is a little gem, we will be returning later this year.
