This was the only site in the area that had spaces at the time and we now know why. You pay 50p for the showers once you got in they either didn't work or turned to freezing water half way through. Dated facilities all round. A lot of money will need spending on this place to just even bring it up to an acceptable standard. The site does have a warden who is very pleasant and will refund your 50p's.

Management response: Thank you for your comments - I am sorry you were unhappy with our site and felt it was not up to scratch but since your visit we have refurbished the toilet block and play ground area and renewed the site office. We are continuing to try and improve all the time and I hope you give us another chance to see how much we have done. |

We were the part of the party that had the first time camper with Skegs. Lovely, friendly site that had clean facilities well managed by Sue. Great place to use as a place to base yourselves to explore the beauty of Wales. Plenty of good shopping close by. Will definitely go back now the first time camper is a seasoned veteran.

Found this site when all others were booked up for bank holiday and after reading the previous reviews was not sure what to expect. All I can say is what a good job the others were booked! Went to reception to book in and met the new Warden, Sue, who made us feel completely welcome and gave us a choice of where to pitch. With the bad weather preceding the visit we expected the pitches to be mud baths, but although wet, had stood up to the weather well. Used the portaloo toilets which were clean and adequate for our needs. As for the facilities, this is a site to be used as a base for exploring Wales and not as a self contained holiday park. The play park has recently been painted and looks well, and also had enough equipment to keep the younger kids happy. The golf course kept the older ones swinging but you do need to go off site to fill the day. Having said that it is situated nicely to go down both the West and North Coasts and into Snowdonia and so is ideal for those who like a base to work from. Within five minutes of the site are a number of supermarkets, pubs and restaurants/take-outs. The only negative was Farmer Giles who drove round like he owned the place. We had a first time camper with us and she thoroughly enjoyed herself as did the kids.
Finally, a big thank you to Sue who made us feel completely welcome and continued to make sure we were okay. This is a site we will return to next year.

Really quiet site, nothing at all to do on it.
50p for a shower in average shower block was a bit steep also.
Nothing to do round about either, we actually came home a day early we were that bored.
Playground swings squeaked all the time.

This site being central on the N. Wales coast is well situated for all the attractions coast or inland. It is a very nice looking site nicely laid out and well maintained with a play area for the children. Although very clean the toilet blocks were past their best by modern day standards. The caravan pitches were just big enough to accomodate van, car and awning. The few staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

We pitched our tent on the back field, which panicked us at first because we thought we were very far away from the toilet and shower block. After some investigation we found a nearer toilet and shower block near the washing up area by the electric hook up area. The toilet and shower block was a cold porta cabin which, although it was cleaned regularly, was just grotty and unappealing. There were 2 loos and 1 shower cubicle for ladies. And for the men 1 loo, 1 shower and urinals. A shower cost 50pence. The sink in the back field where we pitched was broke, this would have made our camping experience slightly more enjoyable. The good thing about this site was being able to pitch anywhere on the field and being able to use a disposable barbecue. There is a pub about a 15 minute walk away.

Site pitches are great with hardstandings and really well sheltered by the wall. The children can play on the play area and be seen all the time as the playarea is in the middle of the grounds with the caravans surrounding it the only thing wrong with the site is the play are needs updating be careful of the seesaw it just slams down and pinches the childrens legs and the main toilets and showers are extremely dated to the point of feeling dirty, there were porta type showers on the overflow feild which were much cleaner. The Botanical gardens are a walk down the lane a good walk mind. The only thing letting it down is the state of the main toilet and shower block hopefully treborth will sort this out soon.

March 2005 The toilet blocks had seen better days and there were only two showers and two toilets. The womens showers were better than mens as they had a changing area the mens did not! The showers also cost 20p and were difficult to operate
The pitches were good though - hardstanding with electric and water at each most within a walled garden. In the centre was an ageing play area with picnic tables and sand pit
The location proved a problem on the Sunday as it is between the two bridges that cross to Anglesy and the road were backed up so we couldn't get back!
If you do stay here there is an excellent Chinese restarant just across in Anglsey at Menia Bridge - it does an unlimited buffet for just £11 per head
