Just recently stayed at Wyreside Lakes Fishery and what a picturesque place. We will return again!
However the owner 'Bob' is a little blunt & not very friendly it didn't dampen our stay.
The children's play park was great & we got some fishing in too - Lovely lakes!
Very close to Garstang and had a little drive to the village of Scorton which was beautiful.
90% of the park are seasonal tourers so you do get a feel that everyone knows everyone!
Pitch was on a slope so next time we'll be prepared.
All in all a Lovely pretty site!

We visited this site for one night with our 13 year old son and 6 month old daughter. Also joining us were a couple of friends also in a campervan and friends with a toddler in a caravan, along with two well behaved dogs.
We were all very impressed with the beauty of this site, with plenty of walks to be had around the lakes.
The staff were very friendly and made us all feel very welcome.
The facilities were to a very high standard and very clean. There is a good sized children’s play area which our friend’s toddler really enjoyed.
Due to bad weather in the morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast and it was one of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time and very good value for money. Again, the staff were very friendly and helpful.
The only thing that let this site down to the point where I don't think we will be returning was the fact that there was dog mess everywhere! Not only was it on the paths but also on the grass where we were pitched and other grassed areas. Not good when you have a toddler running around and it spoilt it for both him and his mum as he couldn’t run around free and she was constantly on her feet running after him to make sure he avoided the abundant mess. At one point he almost picked some up to throw in a lake thinking it was a stone – luckily his mum intercepted him just in time!
I think the owners really need to consider stricter dog policies as due to the mess I would not recommend it for families at all. As previously stated, we had too dogs with us but their owners are very conscientious and ensured they were on leads at all times and cleaned up their mess. It is such a shame that others cannot be the same and have therefore spoilt what would be the perfect campsite.

We stayed 3 nights at wyreside I would tend to agree with most comments, very clean site, very well looked after only let down by the club in my eyes too loud and issues around toilets, if they had a 2nd toilet block it would be a much better site. Until that happened we won't be back
Great meal at the Fleece down the road. Good mountain biking at Gisburn Forest we did the green run.
We also canoed down the canal which was easy and had lunch in Garstang. Also enjoyed the outdoor pool in Ingleton

This is clearly a site that is well maintained and so pleased we found it. My wife and I took our 2 year old on the Wed night and my friends family joined us on the Thurs night.
Nothing was too much trouble from the staff starting at reception when we arrived through to the friendly helpful faces working the site.
We had booked a pitch for our 6 man tent and they kindly saved us a pitch for our friends joining us. My only slight criticism is the field is on a slope which is not ideal but did not detract from our enjoyment for the couple of days we stayed.
Toilet blocks we're immaculate with good showers and clean toilets. There is a well stocked shop on site and to my surprise when we arrived a nice welcoming bar.
There is also a restaurant on site which did take out food but never had any of this so cant really comment but did look very appetising however not a patch on my beans on toast!
Some lovely walks round the lakes on site and again well kept and a great way to spend some quality family time. We will be back!
All in all a lovely trip in great surroundings abeit come prepared with something to deter the midges during the summer months.

Very impressed.
Spacious pitches, exceptionally clean facilities (every time I went in someone was cleaning!), good clean playground, nice little shop, friendly staff, great location with stunning views.
There is a bar with evening entertainment which was a bit loud inside but there is a pleasant seating area outside and we couldn't hear the noise when outside or from our tent.
Children are very welcome and there is a nice family atmosphere.
Locally there are other pubs and places to eat but you do have to drive to them and the on-site bar serves good meals at reasonable prices and has a take-away option.
There is a little road noise from the motorway but this was quickly covered by the dawn chorus when we got up this morning.
We will definitely be going back and have already recommended the site to friends and family.

This is a lovely campsite. It has a small shop on site selling basics, a nice bar/restaurant which also does take outs and a weekend club house which is really good fun. The toilets are well maintained and modern and the free showers are nice and hot.
There is a large camping field at the bottom which is flat and the grass is well kept, there is also another quiet top field which caters for electric hook up. The lakes are lovely to walk around and the site also offers a playground for the children.
The only down side is that I haven't yet found a main supermarket nearby so be sure to take what you need, however there is a spar a couple of miles away if needed.
We can not fault this site and have been about 6 times over the years and after visiting others sites we always return here.

Visited here about 3 times now and will return sometime this year, it is a great site if you have kids with the playground and games room.
Bob the site owner is a friendly chap keeping everyone happy on his quad bike.
Kids loved the dancing competition in the evening. Garstang just 5 mins down the lanes, where there are some nice pubs and shops selling local produce, highly recommended.

We booked our 3 night break at Wyreside in march. On arrival we were shown to our pitch (on gravel, on the road side and not in a field). As we had 2 dogs with us we could not tie them up outside. The toilets were in the same block as the pub and at one point they shut both toilets at 9:30pm to clean, leaving 1 toilet for the whole site to use.
The area itself was breathtaking, lots of nice walks.
The site had a good play area for the children.
We also noticed lots of noise at night well past midnight from the pub on site and children left to their own devices outside in the play area. We also noticed cars at 4,5,6am driving past us as only part of the site has a barrier across.

On arrival we were very impressed with our check in and was taken to our plot for the weekend on a massive field overlooking one of the lakes. After setting up in the rain we improvised a bit of shelter with a tarp and beach shelter which was fantastic as it rained all weekend. We got there Thursday to an empty site and by sat morn it was full of campers. A nice family friendly site with cracking facilities, best showers ever and helpful staff, though personally we wouldn't return only due to the fact that all the lakes and most of the riverside is for the fishermen so we couldn't enjoy a mess about in them! (and a little expensive as they charge per tent size, then extra per person, extra for the car and dogs)
