This is your typical C&CC site. It is beautifully maintained with kind hosts and offers excellent, clean facilities. This all comes at a price. Well over £20 for the two of us in a tent. The tents are squeezed in between the main pitches but this was explained on arrival. The site had a very safe feel and is right behind the beach with the town and Co-Op 5 mins walk away.
We found Stonehaven itself disappointing. You must, however, climb to the war memorial and continue the walk along coast path to Dunottar Castle. You will be rewarded with fabulous scenery and views.
The pubs by the harbour are good and easy walking distance. There is a very popular fish and chip shop very close by with icecream parlour next door.
An excellent place to stay for a couple of nights.

Have visited this site on several occasions as a easy distance for weekend trip. Booked for June 2017 to visit Beer Festival in nearby park.
Well kept site with friendly staff. Facilities good as would be expected from a Caravan and Motorhome Club site!
Usual rules about pitching - seems over the top as pitches are good size.
Nice sea front with board walk to harbour where there are several pubs - recommend the food in 6 Degree North but suggest booking a table as very popular!
Dunnottar Castle worth a visit.

We had two visits to this site during our tour along the east coast of Scotland, the town offers plenty of shopping, museums and even a castle at Duntocher.
The site is modern with friendly wardens, well laid out all weather pitches, a good sized motorhome service area including several well placed water points. Daily papers can be booked from the site reception, local rolls and other essentials can also be purchased from reception.
The site is in easy walking distance of the towns beach and promenade, situated near bye is a heated sea water swimming pool, (closed 4th Sept). And indoor leisure centre with heated indoor pool.
Local chip shop and ice cream Parlour are only 50 yards away, don't arrive early as your unit or motorhome will obstruct the local land train, The Stony express has a turning area at the site entrance. This was our first visit to Stonehaven, we are looking forward to are next visit in the near future and hope the outdoor pool is still open.

Spent three nights here in late September. Real bonus having great weather. Nice site at edge of town and next to beach. Nice flat site with a very new and immaculate toilet block. The wardens were really nice and very helpful. Really good chip shop and ice cream shop just outside site.
Nice stroll into town and down to the harbour. Couple of nice pubs there. Nice Belgian beer and good food at the Marine Bar. Some decent shops in town and a Co-Op Supermarket was supplies.

What can I say: Beautiful site with a wonderful situation. The whole site is so clean and tidy, the toilet block is one of the cleanest and best kept that I have visited. We were visiting with the soul purpose of visiting someone in hospital and the help and friendliness shown to us by the wardens Maggie and Michael was far beyond beyond the call of duty. We will definitely be back to enjoy the area. Thanks Maggie and Michael.

What can we say about this park apart from excellent, it is one of the best sites we have ever used, the facilities are brilliant and for a disabled person very good, spotlessly clean, easy access. The wardens Maggie and Michael Walker are brilliant and keep the site spotless, very dog friendly and no dog mess anywhere on site, the pitches are ample in size loads room between pitches central toilet and facilities block, just cannot fault it, we will be back as often as we can even the weather didn't put us off.

As previous reviewers have said its all very new and sparkly, the CC deserve credit for a really well though out redevelopment. Facilities block is as you would expect inside, but the outside has been done in wood and blends well into park too, it all looks fantastic.
Stonehaven itself is worth the visit, the harbour is lovely, the promenade and board walk along the bay are a great stroll for an hour. Also its worth (possibly) knowing that the Carron Fish Bar - where the deep fried Mars Bar was invented is in town. We tried one, £1. 50, not sure we would want another but when in Rome.
We caught the X7 into Aberdeen, it stops 5 minutes walk from the site and £5. 60 return - cheaper than parking and petrol.
This is a lovely site, very helpful and friendly wardens and with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Would certainly use again

What a lovely site next to the sea the facilities were lovely, clean, warm good toilet block, laundry and drying room. Friendly helpful staff one gentleman made my holiday fun (I'll let him tell you why) a few vital bits in reception but a lovely sea side walk into town where there were plenty of shops a large coop, cafés, pubs and the famous mars bar fish shop (the fish and chips were good). Just round the corner was a fish shop did not try but very busy, ice cream parlour and a lovely coffee shop am/ restaurant pm. Also a heated open air pool, children's play area, tennis courts and bowling club. All you need we will be back hopefully for The New Year celebrations where balls of fire are hurled into the sea. Oh and a bus into Aberdeen lovely city.

We arrived at this site on a very warm, sunny, Sunday afternoon in June where families were trying to find parking spaces on the access road which meant careful manoeuvring.
We really liked this site as you can walk into town in about 10 minutes. There is a chip shop, ice cream shop, and small restaurant only 2 minutes away from the site entrance plus a supermarket not that far from the site
If you want to go into the city of Aberdeen, there is a frequent bus service which passes along the main road, again just a few minutes walk from the campsite.
This is a big improvement on the site that existed here before with well spaced pitches and brand new facilities.
We will be back.

We've stayed at Stonehaven a good number of times now, we return specifically due to the location. The site is a pretty typical Caravan Club site, clean, spacious, lovely level pitches. Toilets and showers spotless. But the site itself is a bit nondescript. However, location, location, location! 2 mins from the beach, pool, lovely food, cafés, shops, etc, all go to making this site, a perfect east coast venue. I'd say it's ideal for slightly older kids who can be trusted with enough freedom to go the the lovely adjacent park themselves, otherwise there is not much to do on site.
We're back in July for a week, can't wait!
