Stayed here 3 nights and wished we could have stayed longer!
A nice site, well managed and maintained. The pitches seemed to all be set up for caravans, but there was plenty of room for our large tent. The toilets / showers looked like horrible municipal atrocities, but in fact were clean, warm and nice to use. Soap and toilet rolls were provided.
The lounge area/games room was a great resource and the staff very friendly. The cafe just off site at Lough Neagh was both cheap and delicious, and the staff there a credit to the council!
We walked down the river walk into Antrim, which was an easy stroll even for the young children and a disabled adult. The kids saw Herons, ate wild raspberries and ended the walk by playing in Antrim Forum's playground for ages.
The site is right next to Loch Neagh, with fishing, water bird spotting/feeding the ducks and boat trips on Sundays available. Antrim itself is a modern, prosperous town, with plenty of shopping and some interesting historical places to meander around.
There were quite a few insects around, but no-one was bitten, so obviously even the midges were friendly!
Will definitely be going back

Had a great time here, It was very quite, although it was early in the season, the facilities on site are modern and clean, only no family shower room, on the pitch itself there's only hook up, but water and drainage are pretty close. Although beside the river I personally didn't have any problems even with 3 young kids, they had a ball. Even with no play area!
It was a long weekend to get up and running for the start on the season and didn't have any problems.
Ohh yes, they seem to have taken away the tent area and extended the caravan pitches with about 15-20 new pitches.

A very clean site in a picturesque setting right on the shores of Lough Neagh. Better managed and controlled than most Council owned sites.
We have visited this site regularly and really like it although flies can be a major problem in the warm weather. Pitches are all electric hardstand and very spacious.
You get met by the warden who explains all about the park and the facilities. I believe there are 2 shifts of warden each day but no one on duty at night. The caravan park and the adjoining municipal car park are now secured at night which has done away with the previous boy racer problem that plagued this park. Facilities are always clean and tidy and we have always found them to be of a high standard. Facilities also include a TV/lounge/games room and laundry area. Large expanse of grass areas for kids to play on.
Both TV and satellite reception can be difficult here due to the tall trees surrounding the park.

Lovely location. Our trip was ruined as we didn't get any sleep due to rowdy people in next tent. There was no warden on duty at night.
Small toilet block, there was no soap or toilet rolls but warden had replaced these next morning. The toilet cubicles in the ladies were very small. If you use the end one, you end up practically sitting on the sanitary disposal unit which is wedged between toilet and wall.
Warden was helpful. It was value for money. Bring your bikes, no children's park on the site. Lots of midges!

I stayed here for 2 nights with my hubby and 2 kids age 10 & 2 and they both loved it .
£17 a night includes awning and electric £10 deposit for key card which is refunded when you return card. There is now a night security company in car park just outside the park so no more little boy racers messing around.
Lovely clean park, great staff.
Plenty of room for kids to play, lots of lovely walks, kids park not to far away at leisure centre which is very safe and secure for small kids .
Swimming costs around £7.50 for a family of 4 .
24 hr Tesco in Antrim town not far at all you could walk it if you hadnt to much to carry back .
I hope this has helped a little .

Although operated by the council this site still maintains a friendly welcome. The facilities are clean & warm although not the most aesthetically pleasing. The recycling facilities were excellent - the best we have come across. Antrim town is walkable (20 mins) and a very short drive. There is a large Tesco & Lidl for grocery needs. The banks of Lough Neagh are to the left of the site whilst to the right there are castle ruins & riverside walks in a public park like area. We found plenty to explore while walking around the site. The site was an excellent base for exploring Northern Ireland plus only a short drive (30 mins) from the ferry ports of Larne & Belfast. This site maybe lacks the character of some sites but it does it's job and it does it well.

This was our first trip out in our new caravan and we were not disappointed ! The weather looked good for the weekend so after looking at the reviews on this site, we decided to spend a night here.
The owners met us at gate and explained about the security tags, which get you into the toilets, dishwashing rooms and games rooms etc. This only cost £10 and is refundable. The owner was very friendly and approachable. The toilets and showers are very clean and I was very impressed. There is recycling on the site too.
The site is located next to the Lough. There is path along the shore which takes you into a woodland area which is a nice walk and the dog loved it ! Walking the other way takes you into Antrim which is lovely as there is parts of the old castle there and lovely gardens to walk through.
The site was very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely go back again. So for our first caravanning experience I think we are now hooked as we cant wait to go out again !

Just returned from three night at this site in mid August. Myself, wife, daughter, and three small grandkids, a boy 6 and twin boys 4. The weather was awful, very heavy rain. The caravans were ok as they were on hard stands (all with electric hookup) but I saw one group in a tent who pitched in a slight hollow flooded out. Everything was soaked including themselves.
The site is a wee Gem. The toilets are clean and bright, and the showers are free, although one of the ladies showers only runs for a few seconds before the operating button has to be pressed, and that's my only gripe. The staff are helpful and friendly. The chemical toilet area is as good as it gets. I didn't use the tv room or the games room but they looked good. There is a washing machine and a tumble drier, which was good for drying out the swimming togs and towels.
There is a large public car park and picnic area next to the site but access is denied to non campers after 10pm. Great, no boy racers and loud music etc. There were a number of young families there, and it did get a bit noisy in the evening with kids playing and enjoying themselves. However by 11pm all was quiet.
We did visit the local Forum regularly. There is a main swimming pool and a great wee one for the kids to play with grandad. The ten pin bowling was good (£12 for 45mins), they gave us a voucher for another session, but by an hour the kids had had enough. They also have a good outside play park if the weather was better. The junction one outlet not only has shops but also a good indoor adventure playground. We found plenty of places to eat, chippies, Indian, Burgerking, Lidle, etc. Etc. Everything you could want or need within a few minutes of the site.
We found plenty of activities to keep the kids amused during the rain and I will go back again and would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone.

WE stayed here some time ago now and to be honest there was very little to do. The staff were friendly and helpful ok. The site was clean and tidy. There was a nightclub nearby and it was very noisy till late into the night. The toilets and shower were clean. I think it would suit people who are younger and willing to travel out every day to activities. Unfortunately we were not told of any walks or local activities and we did ask. There was good recycling available. It was well signposted to the park. The barrier to get in gave reassurance.

We stayed here twice during the month of July. The first time was a spur of the moment thing but we enjoyed it and decided to book again for another weekend. We had our 12 year old daughter and her friend with us and although there is no playground there is plenty of room to ride bikes and run around. There is a cafe which sells ice cream and some sweets but you need to go into the town for groceries (huge 24hr Tesco within 1 mile). The site is situated on the mouth of the river as it flows into Lough Neagh. You can watch the water sports or the resident swans, geese and ducks. You can walk along the river and through the gardens of Clotworthy House towards Antrim town or go the opposite way along through the woods, we've walked along this way, it seems to go on forever!. The amenities are good, there are two shower blocks (male and female), one either side of the office where there is also a games and t.v room. There are a few good chippies in the town and there is a excellent leisure centre on the way into the park. You are only 1 or 2 miles away from one of N Irelands two outlet parks - Junction One - if you need a bit of retail therapy! The only down side in July is the flies. They get everywhere and in the mornings if you are in before the cleaners, the showers are literally a flies graveyard! ps As the road into the park also services the car park for the lough, you need to watch for the (many) speed bumps ! A good place for a weekend but if you are staying longer you can use it as a base as it is only a couple of miles away from the M2 which opens up a large area which includes lots of places of interest
