Have just returned from a 2 night stay at Denn Farm. This is the second time we have been and will be returning again. The site is immaculate with spacious pitches. Very friendly owner who always looks to improve the site. This is a very peaceful site with beautiful walks around the lake with the Bulls Head within 15 minutes walk away. Facilities spotless and a very friendly site. With local attractions very close, Bridgnorth and Severn Valley Railway. Can't wait to return again. This site is fantastic value for money at £16 per night including electric.

Third time here and have to agree with all the positive points mentioned previously as regards to the peacefulness of the site and cleanliness of the modern toilets even though it's on a working farm so will just add a few additional points. Beside the Unicorn pub at Hampton Lode you can walk to the Bulls head in about 20 mins by turning left along the bridle path from the site entrance road then carry on. The pub does food all day, has a friendly locals bar with four real ales and occasional evening functions. A bus can be caught from the shut down Kings Head to Bridgnorth or Kidderminster. Someone mentioned a lack of phone signal, I had a slight signal with my orange phone. Paid £16/night with ehu.

Stopped here for 2 nights after the bank holiday weekend. Nice size field with plenty of ehu. Views from the site are good. Toilet block always clean and tidy however there were only 3 other pitches being used. Showers were really good with plenty of hot water. Good location for bridgnorth and Severn valley railway. They advertise as an adults only site, so there will be no children running around and I also get the impression there will be no young groups either, so if peace and quiet is what you are looking for then this site is well worth a go.

We booked in to stay 3 nights and stayed 7 because this was such a lovely site. Very peaceful - we shared it with one other unit and the swallows swooping across the campsite. The facilities were excellent and always clean. The showers were hot, modern and spacious. There were statics but these were well hidden. The views from the gently sloping site across to the Clee hills was lovely and we enjoyed watching the sun set from the site. We used our kayaks to paddle down the River Severn and catch the steam train back up to the start. There is access at Bridgnorth, Bewdley and nearby Hampton Loade. Walking on the Clee hills and at Kinver ridge where there are rock houses all had excellent views. The whole site has been very carefully designed and the walks around the pond are cute. I would highly recommend the site and the area. My only suggestion for improvement is to move the key plate for the barrier so that it can be reached from the car without having to get out every time. Yes that really is all I can think of. Before booking, be aware that you are not allowed visitors to site, I'm guessing that they've had problems in the past and want to keep the site really quiet

This is a real 'get away from it all' site. A huge field with very generous space between pitches, the toilets and showers are amongst the best we have come across. Fabulous, powerful and hot showers (2 in each of mens' and ladies') and 5 loos (I think!) in the ladies', with 2 basins. Washing up inside the block. Excellent ventilation so no mould or damp - but could get cold when cooler weather. Beautiful garden flowers everywhere.

We were a little underwhelmed by our reception but it didn't matter as we were pleased to have the space and peace. Swallows ducked and dived around the field every evening, and we looked out onto beautiful views of hills and fields.

We cycled some of Route 45 which was quite hilly - but had a lovely trip back from Bewdley on the steam train.

Be warned - there is no phone signal or wifi here so you will be totally cut off from the outside world.

Fantastic site, third visit this year. Very peaceful in a lovely setting. The owners are friendly and helpful, lots of hook ups all over the field. Toilets and showers spotless, great location for severn valley railway. Bridgnorth is about five miles away and highley about three miles away. The site has a small pool to fish on, you get permits from the farm. If you like it quiet this is is the place for you.

Me and the wife spent 7 nights here end of July beginning of August and Loved it.

The owners were very friendly and advised us of where to visit, Bridgenorth is just a few mile away and well worth a visit the cliff railway takes you from the top town to the bottom or vice versa and that is a nice experience at just £1. 50 return, there are plenty of places to visit like Ironbridge, Ludlow and Bewdley just to name a few.

The highlight of each day for me was a couple of hours fishing on the small lake they have on the site, it is £3 for a day ticket and I have never seen a Lake so well stocked with carp and I was pulling small ones out every few minutes.

The grass was regularly cut on the touring field and it was level no slopes, toilets showers and wash basins were kept clean, this is a really nice site it is one of the best we have been to and we have been to a lot, we wlll definitely be coming back.

Thanks for a great time

Pete and Anne

Denn Farm is an adults-only camp site attached to a working farm in the small village of Chelmarsh. As well as a mobile home site, for campers and caravanners there is a large, grassy touring field with some hard-standing plots offering spectacular sunset views of Wenlock Edge and the distant Clee Hills. Entrance to the site is down a long drive and then through a number pad-operated barrier by the main reception.

Electric hook-ups are situated along the perimeter hedge of the camping field, as well as alongside a handful of centrally-situated tree enclosures. Plots are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis, so campers can pretty much choose which aspect they prefer. The field’s solitary water tap can be found beneath a quaint lych gate, whilst the main facilities block is located across the way and hosts male and female toilets and showers, a disabled toilet, a washing-up station (with information point and book exchange), elsan point and rubbish bins. The facilities are maintained to a high standard and the power showers are free to use.

Also across the way adjacent to the mobile home park is a woodland walk leading to a small lake stocked with playful wild carp. Fishing is permitted here and there are tables and benches for use by picnickers, as well as a landing stage from which those without rods can feed or admire the fish instead! There are also a variety of footpaths and country lanes criss-crossing the village – including to nearby Chelmarsh Reservoir.

Denn Farm is also centrally located for exploring the wonderful Severn Valley – including the eponymous and renowned steam railway line that shadows the river on its course from Bridgnorth to Bewdley. The nearest station on the Severn Valley Railway is at Hampton Loade, which is a few minutes drive (or a half-hour stroll) down a country lane. Here you will find a shop selling railway memorabilia and a fabulous garden model railway which is open for viewing on Sundays. The Unicorn public house is nearby, as is a landing stage for the foot ferry that permits crossing of the river in the summer months. In addition, stations further down the line at the villages of Alveley and Arley and the town of Bewdley provide enchanted places in which to while away an afternoon watching the trains or relaxing in riverside pubs.

Elsewhere, just five miles away is Bridgnorth - the nearest main town, with its supermarkets, Saturday market and a variety of pubs, shops and museums to explore. Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster, Ludlow and Telford are also shopping destinations within an afternoon's drive – the latter also playing host to the world famous industrial heritage sites at Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale.

All told, either though we were only there for a weekend, we found Denn Farm to be the perfect haunt for either relaxing beneath wide Shropshire skies or savouring the delights offered by the towns and villages nearby.

My partner and I stopped at this wonderful site recently to trial our new trailer tent. We picked this site quite simply because it was relatively local to where we live. I didn't even know the site existed but having read the reviews here I decided to book!

I do not normally write reviews but on this occasion felt compelled to do so because the site really was fantastic and is very much true to the other excellent reviews it has received.

It is a peaceful and serene site, with some stunning views over the surrounding countryside. It has real charm and character. The owners have made some lovely quaint architectural features around the site using old farm machinery and the grounds are kept in excellent condition.

It is an adult only site which we prefer, however visitors are not allowed. On one hand I find that a little mean, but on the other I can appreciate that this helps to keep the campsite secure and quiet.

That is a shame because if my parents had popped down to visit us at the site I'm sure they would have gone straight back home, hitched up their caravan and joined us for the weekend - it really is a wonderful site.

The grass on the touring field is the best turf I've ever seen! Not a weed or blemish to be found - a lush green carpet of grass - it looked gorgeous and inviting - I wish I'd asked the owners for tips on how they got it looking so nice !

Swifts and swallows flew playfully at low level across the turf adding to the charm and serenity of the site - absolutely beautiful!.

The toilet and shower facilities were pretty much spotless. There is a wash up area, and waste emptying facilities. The touring field has acres of space, and was not overcrowded despite being busy - you can pitch wherever you like.

The site has two beautiful lakes, and an abundance of wildlife, including farm animals, fish, ducks, geese, chicken and Turkeys. The site also has some great scenery and some wonderful walks in around the site. When I booked over the phone I did find the site owner a little condescending if truth be told, but in person she was most accommodating and friendly.

So a charming, quaint, quiet and well kept campsite with plenty of character and scenery - if this site was by the coast it would be booked up to capacity all year round without doubt. That said I am sure it is booked up all season round anyway.

Would I go again? No because the site is literally 5 miles from where I live but that is the only reason - actually then again yes I would visit again - it is so quiet and peaceful I can see us going there to unwind. Its a little oasis!

Overall we were thoroughly impressed with this fantastic campsite. Dare I say that this is one of the best sites I've pitched at in 34 years of camping?. Superlative!

Just returned from a weekend at Denn Farm prices slightly gone up to sixteen pounds a night with electric which is still good value. Toilets and showers clean and tidy. The site is about 5 miles from Bridgnorth which is easy to get to and a lovely town. Denn Farm is a lovely peaceful site with lovely views. The only thing that I can complain about this site is when the owner cuts the grass he doesn't collect the grass up, so even though we take our shoes off to go into our van it has always got grass everywhere which is very annoying.
