Great site with view's and stream for the kid's to play in plus a levelled football field in the garden of the stone farmhouse.

The toilets and shower's to the rear of the farm house with outside covered washing up area and elsan disposal point were dated but all worked well with plenty of hot water.

The rubbish is collected and sorted for recycling by the farmer. There is hard standing's for caravan's and motor homes with electric points, ampage from these was very good.

There is only two water points on the whole site but I can imagine that keeping these form freezing in the winter must be the reason for this.

That is the only bad point.

We stayed for the Whitsun week. The charge for this was sixteen pounds a night.

Our time here was spoilt by a couple of issues:

1. Noisy revellers on Sat night

2. Terrible midges by the river (even though we had all the usual sprays and coils

On the plus side though:

1. The Old Hall pub took dogs, even eating inside

2. The Angel Inn serves absolutely divine Mitchelin standard food and you can get early bird prices between 6 and 6.45 on week nights (its just a bit further than the Devonshire Arms

3. The Farm Shop cafe tried hard to please and was reasonably priced for lunch, though service was very slow

4. There was no rush to have us leave and in fact, due to reasons beyond our control we didn't start packing up till 6pm!

Here is some advice:

1. Don't assume you have booked if you leave a message. They don't attend to these in time and we found we were not booked in because of this. Luckily they let us in anyway, even though it was Bank Holiday!

2. Don't book the Devonshire Arms by email. Even though the website offers this, they don't read their emails and we turned out not to be booked. They didn't do anything to help us out so we took our business elsewhere and it turned out to be much better food and service at the above establishments

3. Use the right hand washing up sink as the water stays on longer

4. There is no freezer facilities for freezer blocks so you need a gas fridge

5. Its worth spending a bit of time marching round the place to get a flat spot as it is deceptively sloping.

Just returned from a 3 night stay here. After ringing round numerous other sites in the area which were all full, I had slight reservations about what this site would be like as it was the only one with availability for the BH w/end and I couldn't help but wonder why. Fortunately, my fears were for nothing - it is a wonderful little site and at £15.50pn for 2 adults, 3 kids, awning and 2 dogs including EHU, you really cant go wrong.

As previously mentioned, the toilets and showers are pre-historic, but they were in perfect working order and clean - the only negative comment I can make about them is that the shower cubicle didn't have a curtain, so this meant your clothes ended up getting a bit damp - but hey ho.

The local area is fantastic and there are some brilliant walks around and about. The only slight niggle I have is that there was a sign up saying no Alsation dogs allowed - maybe it would be a good idea to point this out when people ring to make bookings to save disappointment.

Other than that, it is a lovely site and I would defo return for a weekend.

What a fantastic find amazing campsite the facilities were old but well looked after and kept clean would definitely stay here again. The location was ideal for exploring the local area and the stream was a big hit with our labrador. The cobblestone tea room in grassington is a must for anyone stayin with dogs as it has a covered area in the back where you can take dogs.

Well what can I say me and my girlfriends camped here for 2 nights between us we had 7 children and 3 tents.

We found the campsite easy to find and the chappie friendly on our arrival. We pitched up in not the best weather but this was May and the bank holiday so no more said! the field was a big one with lots if choice where to go, we all managed to pitch to gether.

We had a wonderful weekend being so close to Skipton and Grassington, we visited the castle, bbq ed and played rounders too! The wshrooms are dated and need updating but for 2 nights you can get by.No luxuries here but a lot of fun to be had. Would deffo go back again.

Spent the weekend at this lovely site and only paid £10/night for the two of us in a tent.

Facilities are old but were kept clean, I have seen worse than these at other sites. Womens - 3 toilets and the 2 showers which were free with plenty of hot water, and even though the site was full I never had to wait.

There is a busy road and a quarry near by but never heard any noise.

Plenty of great walks around this area, that's why we chose this site.

Lovely pub only 10 mins walk away in Cracoe and of course there are a few in Grassington. We ended our walk on Saturday in Grassington so we could have a few sips in the local pubs then caught a bus back, got dropped off at the top of the campsite lane.

Would definitely go again.

This camp site has the X factor - but I don't know why, I guess that's why they call it the X factor!

On paper it is fairly close to a road that has a fair bit of traffic - but of course this dies down at night. The field is fairly flat with a very gentle slope. There is a stream running parallel to the site which was a point of interest to younger campers.

The showers are old as described in other reviews but does this matter if you are going for one or two nights? There was a mixture of campers when we visited, families, couples and single sex groups but the field is big and the noise dies down after dark.

Tip: the local pub get booked up for food on a sat night so book at the Devonshire Arms in Cracoe in advance. Its a lovely traditional pub, very English!

I would definitely go back or recommend to a friend. It was fairly quiet so if you want to stay away from those larger commercial sites then this is the place for you.

Had a cracking week here last week, we all enjoyed it and it's in a brilliant spot, handy for Skipton but not too close to feel that you are in the town, Grassington very handy though.

The quarry: never heard it at all but the daily departure of the large train was awesome to watch and you could only just hear it. All the family loved it and it was very quiet so the tent field was great for ball games etc. Spoke to a couple of the 'permanent' siters and some have been there for 12 years plus some must be doing something right.

Facilities as reviewed here before, pretty ancient toilet and showers, and no clothes washing, but bargain £14.50 a night including awning and electric so cant complain. Good clear view for satellite TV reception (no trees in the way). Amateur Radio no local stuff but pretty good for DX. Lovely views and good walks, and the kids loved the baby lambs. Very little traffic and moved slowly do the kids could roam without worry. Overall very very pleased, will go again.

Great site and fantastic value we paid £11 for one night for 2 adults and one child, including electric hook up. Facilities basic but very clean. Ground was quite spongy even though the weather had been great.
Beautiful spot with great views. Not much organised play for children but it doensn't pretend to be that sort of site, hence why we chose it, but there is plenty of room to run around and play. Would recommend; but probably take your wellies if it's been wet recently.

Superb little site, nothing to much for the owners, what a gem of a site wish we had found it years ago.We went for a weekend over aug. The toilets are spotless showers hot and free, some people have commented that it is a basic site. Why basic its got plenty of water taps good clean showers, a fantastic owner, don't really know what some people want????. We will return again and again in fact going back for ten days in September. What a gem.
