Stayed Fri-Sun on this site. Eventually decided after trying various sites that were full, then found this one on the campsite search. We were told that the ground was soggy but we could have some form of hardstanding, even if it was a patch of concrete, to stop the wheels sinking!

Turned up & was shown to one of the gravel pitches with power, but we didn't need that so just paid the £9/night which I think is a bargain. This is where honesty comes in, the farmer is such a nice chap, he just said 'if you need power just plug in & pay the difference in the morning' (£2/night).

As already said the site is a little rough & ready, with dated facilities, but the showers are free, there is plenty of hot water, & the loos are spotless. The grass was also nice & short and the site was generally kept in a very good state.

There were quite a few people on the campfield with tents & they seemed fine, but I would guess you need to choose your pitch carefully after the weather we've all had recently, there were some extremely wet areas.

There is a bakery at the top of the farm (not part of the site) which bakes daily & also sells a few provisions (milk, jam, coffee etc), but the one thing that did surprise me was that, although cheap, the eggs weren't free range!

Round & about, the Devonshire Arms is the nearest pub about a 10 minute walk away serving good beer & with a good looking food menu (although we didn't eat here), and there is the Cracoe Cafe right next door to the pub. Across the road from them is a farm shop with a cafe & ice cream parlour, we just had a brew & cake in there and the cake was excellent.

There are some lovely villages & we did a circular walk from the site down to Thorpe, Burnsall, Grassington, Linton & back, stopping for a drink in each village - a great way to spend a day, seeing varied scenery (about 10 miles total).

All in all, a well positioned site with friendly owners, clean, if dated, facilities & at a bargain price - we'll definitely be back

A site in lovely surroundings and views - plenty of walks to do and the local town of Grassington is not too far away - there are a couple of great pubs that serve excellent food although it is a tad on the expensive side. The owners were friendly and the tariff was incredibly cheap. The only real gripe is that the ground wasn't very level at all - but thats because we use camping mats rather than airbeds! so it is more than manageable. We chose this site over another popular one because the owners are relaxed about leaving times. The toilet blocks were a walk away from where we were camping but they were clean and there were showers too. I would recommended this site. There is a small shops that sells fresh bread and other basics - delicious!

Return Visit Number 3: (Or so we thought)

Arrived at 7 pm after PRE BOOKED arrangement over the telephone the same day, Only to be TURNED AWAY and told we could not go on the grass because we were in a 4x4 landrover.

(4x4 s are designed for off road use, so would cause very little if any mess on the grass)

A very disappointed camping family!

Good site. Visited with 6 year and 4 year old boys we also took a friend and her 7 year old daughter on their first camping trip think she is converted now. Site wasn't very busy due to the weather so kids made the most of the space! Loved the stream and finally caught some fish. Lovely walks and scenery and not to far to travel to get to Grassington, Burnsall where there was also lovely places to visit.
Really enjoyed the fresh bread! and liked the suggestion that they might start doing ice creams on site. Site basic but clean, price amazing £24 for 3 adults and 3 kids for 2 nights. Owners relaxed about leaving and arriving times which was really appreciated. Recommended to friend who is there now and will definitely visit again.

We had a 3 Night stay here for the Easter weekend. Woke up to 6' inch of snow on the Sunday morning (all adds to the fun of camping)

Very basic and dated facilities but extremely clean, 3 toilets, 2 showers (ladies)and washing up area. Shower was absolutely freezing (may have been due to weather conditions)but had to brave it anyway.

We had a lovely walk to Burnsall- guessing a 10 mile round trip and then to the local pub for our evening meal and drinks (very inviting & friendly)

Will definitely return!

We visited Threaplands house farm campsite for a damp weekend stay with several camping families with children ranging from 6 - 13years.

The campsite has a slight slope but this is not a problem. It is possible to find a flattish place to camp. It is well kept with a stream that kept our boys entertained for hours. There was also plenty of room for games of football and cricket etc.

The facilities are basic, though very clean with free hot water for washing up and showers. There are three toilets and two showers in the ladies, with toilet paper, soap and paper towels also provided. For the price of £9 per tent / campervan per night I consider this excellent value.

The campsite was busy but not overcrowded, there was plenty of room for our party of 4 family tents and a campervan in a group.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff running the campsite. They work hard to keep the place clean and tidy and making sure everyone is enjoying themselves. They even provided a tarporlin to keep out the wind and rain whilst we all sat under a gazebo.

We had a wonderful weekend camping despite the weather. There are lots of places to visit nearby with good pubs and lovely food.

We would love to make a return visit.

Stayed here for a weekend break on the spur of the moment.

The site was on a slope, but easily found flat areas for pitching and the slope isn't that steep anyway. The ground was soft and had no trouble getting the pegs in.

The site was busy, but not overcrowded, and the owners were around making sure everything was OK.

The toilet / shower block is small and a bit out dated, but perfectly clean (we were only there for a night and saw them being cleaned twice). Despite the site being busy, we never had to wait to use any of the facilities.

There is a quary in the distance, but we only saw it because we rode passed it on the way to Grassington, and it made no noise at the weekend.

There's a great pub just up the road (The Devonshire, I think) which served gorgeous food in really big portions (the fish & chips was superb!).

The only downside to the site is no EHU on the tent pitches, but at £9/pitch I can live with that :)

We were pleasantly surprised with the campsite visiting with a 4 and 6 year old. The staff obviously work hard to keep the site looking tidy.
The 2 showers in the gents and ladies, the 3 ladies lavatories and gents toilet areas were clean and well maintained given their age. The free showers were very hot although not particularly powerful. Site was split 70/30 tin-ten v's canvas on our trip and was very quiet with a pleasant calibre of clientelle given the comparitavely bargain price of £9 per night.
The walk at the rear of the site through the farm yard leads to great views of the Dales. Good for an evening stroll with the kids prior to bedtime. The bakery on the site is sparce but well worth a visit if not just to smell the freshly baked bread and cakes. Yummy!
We will be returning to this site again as we enjoy Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Kettlewell, Stump Cross Caverns and the array of other beauties that easily competes with the Lakes, only much quieter and not as commercialised.

We are mum,dad and two daughters 11 and 12. We stayed two nights, Sat, Sun and left (bank holiday) monday morning. After reading the other reviews thought I'd put our experience down. No external noise either from road or quarry (it's well in the distance).
Field does undulate but only slightly and is quite flat. First time I've not hit rocks and bent tent pegs (good ground). Two showers and plenty of toilets for each sex. Adequate is the best term. Floor clean but glad I never put soap in the dish as it was minging!
Quiet site, slept great both nights. It was busy, we went to bed early (10.30ish) and no one woke us with noise which from past experience is a first.
The location is good. By car 5 mins to Grassington, 15 to skipton and 15 to a macdonalds which was a hit with the girls on the morning of departure.

Spent August bank holiday weekend here. Site in good area between Skipton and Grassington. Plenty of walks and good pubs in the area. Site  facilities are ok and toilets are clean but a little overloaded at peak times. Pub within easy walking distance that does good food and real ales.
