We took our Pullman for a 2 week visit here. The site is very well maintained with the toilets and shower blocks spotless.
The staff are very helpful and there were great views and good walks right on the doorstep.
The only down side is the drainage when it rains was not great if you pitched in the lower field as it tends to run down the road straight into the field which can become a bit water logged, but then after a day of warm weather it was bone dry again.
Plenty for the kids to do, our two made friends instantly and spent a lot of time in the well equipped park.
There is a lake in the field next door but this is not owned by the site but the office seem to take payment for passes etc. For it.
Nice and quiet and only the sounds of the sheep and owl to keep you company at night, very peaceful

We really, really loved this site. Extremely clean, extremely nice Wardens. The wardens were constantly on the go preening this beautiful site. Most pitches are grass, we were on the top level and had beautiful views. We backed onto the road, screened by trees and bushes, the road noise was not a problem and was minimal.
The Anchor pub, short walk between the fishing lakes, accessed from the bottom of the site is an easy five minute walk. The new owners took this substantial pub over 3 weeks ago. We ate there once and enjoyed the meal very much. Light meals (in a basket are £4. 95) and more than enough for us. We had several nights with a glass of wine/beer in the beautiful riverside gardens and they are dog friendly both in the bar and in the garden.
We will definitely visit this site again and again, it is so convenient for lots of places, we even took a bus into Tiverton (timetables to loan from the Warden) and had a fantastic afternoon walking along the Canal.
Visit this site with total confidence and enjoy.

Called into this site on spec, after an horrendous drive across Exmoor. The wardens could not have been more helpful. We arrived about 11:15, but knew we wouldn't be able to pitch up until 12:00.
The lady on duty took our booking and showed us to the waiting area. We pitched up at about 11:45 and had a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside - although it poured with rain one day.
The site was beautifully clean, the pitches were large and very well kept. On our departure we were waiting for reception to open at 9 to get our newspaper, but at 8:50 the warden bought the paper out to us.
What fantastic service

Visited this site in early May for a week & had a great holiday. Friendly helpful wardens,
Immaculate site in a lovely location with views all round of rolling hills.
Very high standard of ll facilities on site. We were pitched on the hardstanding on the lower level perhaps the view was slightly obstructed by the hedge but being further away from the top level pitches, the road Noise was minimal here, not that it was all that troublesome anyway.
Nice 5 min stroll past the lake to the Anchor pub which did a nice enough, no frills bar meal & has a river garden by the bridge.
Not much in the immediate vicinity so you do have to travel around, but out of season this isn't a problem on the narrow roads.
Places of interest to visit are Knightshayes court just down the road, & Dunster castle further north.
Lovely walks around Watersmeet & Lynmouth & Lynton to the valley of the rocks.
Nice meal at Tarr steps inn.

What a lovely site, one of the best we’ve stayed at. We spent Whitsun half term week there and even though it was busy the toilet block was always pristine and we never had to queue.
The wardens were really friendly and helpful and they really kept the place running beautifully. There was a really lovely atmosphere on the site the whole week we were there.
There is a children’s play area and a games room which both looked nice but we didn’t use.
We found the surrounding countryside stunning and enjoyed some really good walks and days out. Exeter is a lovely city with really good shops. Tiverton had a really good canal walk. The valley of the rocks was also another lovely walk and also along the coast between Blue Anchor and Minehead. The nearby small town of Dulverton was delightful.
Tiverton has Tesco and Morrisons Supermarkets. There is a pub that is only a few minutes walk around the lake but we didn’t try it as people had left really negative comments about the food in the book at the information room.
We will be going back to Lakeside for sure!

We live about 40minutes from this site so chose it as a weekend getaway. Friendly welcome from the wardens and immaculately kept site. We arrived not long after 12pm on a Friday and there were quite a few pitches to chose from. As we were pitching with a couple of friends we managed to get pitches next to each other (46 & 47) grass pitches - but very spacious, well drained and had views down over the valley and ideally situated in between both shower block and dog walk.
Showers are amongst the best we've ever seen - even the loo seat was gleaming no matter what time of day you visited! Even though it was August and peak season never had to queue or wait for shower or toilet. Free hairdryers. The only downside is the showers are closed for cleaning from 10.30am which we felt was a little early considering we do like to lie in a bit whilst on holiday and shower after breakfast, so felt a little pressured to get everything done before the shut off time!
Dog walk sufficient with plenty of poo bins, although on slight slope. There is a walk down the footpath across the lakes to the pub (dog must be kept on lead - not CC property). Also an area at the back end of the Anchor Inn car park where dogs can be let off into the river (just under the bridge) for a swim.
Enjoyed afternoon lunch in the Anchor Inn - typical 'pub grub' - not too fancy and not over priced, lovely beer garden where dogs are welcome.
Nice site in rural location, we will return.

We've just returned from a great week at this lovely Caravan Club site. All the facilities are just what you'd expect from a club site and, as always, the wardens work tirelessly to keep everything up to standard.
Check in is straight forward and there's a good choice of grass and hardstanding pitches. We chose a service pitch, but in fact the standard ones would have been absolutely fine. If you manage to pitch facing west (away from the road) you get fantastic views over the hills towards Dulverton.
On site there's a children's play area and a good sized enclosed dog walk, big enough for our two Irish Setters to let off steam!
As has been mentioned before, you need to arrive well stocked because, although the shop sells basics, the nearest shops otherwise are in Dulverton where there's a Co-op supermarket as well as a butcher, baker and home-made pie shop.
A five minute walk around the fishing lake takes you to the local pub; we didn't try it as it's had some pretty bad reviews in the booklet in the information centre.
It's worth driving to Tarr Steps where the food at Tarr Farm (which, in spite of its name, is a pub) is great. One thing worth knowing - you can park up the road for just £2.50 for 24 hours. So you can go there in the afternoon, have a stroll by the river and one of their fantastic cream teas, then return the following morning for a longer walk and lunch in the garden overlooking the ancient clapper bridge!
We loved this site and will certainly return when we next visit the area.

Our second visit to Lakeside for two weeks in the school holidays - and yes it rained again!
This is a lovely site, IF, you are into peace and quiet. Lakeside has many, many plus points. Immaculate, fantastically clean, well kept grounds and facilities. A brilliant children's play area, a pub 5 minutes walk away. Everything is first class.
The only thing to remember is, you are quite a way from attractions and the beach. Come to Lakeside if you wish to go horse riding, fishing, walking on the moors. Don't come if you don't wish to drive more than 45 minutes to get to the coastline of Dunster, Minehead, Porlock, Ilfracombe etc. There is nothing on your doorstep for teenagers who are bored in the rain!
My children are young and therefore are happy cooped up in a caravan, playing games, so we had a great time.
No doubt we will return.

We had a lovely time at this site, amazing views, good size pitches, friendly hardworking wardens, immaculate facilities always clean. It is a bit in the midddle of no where but fine if you want a relaxing stay. Dulverton is a lovely little town but is very narrow so beware if you have a large unit, you will get stuck!
There is a games room on site but away from the pitches so no one would be disturbed. Lovely children's play area. Excellent dog walk, so nice for it not to be tiny and uncared for.
The pub is within walking distance and a short cut via the fishing lakes avoids a walk along a dark road.
As usual club sites can be relied upon to be good sites that are good value for money, we were not disappointed and would certainly recommend it.

Just what you would expect from a Caravan Club site. The toilet and shower facilities were great and I particularly liked the family bathroom decorated with child friendly pictures and bath toys. We didn't use this but it was a lovely touch.
There is a play area for younger children and a games room with pool, table football, air hockey etc for older kids.
The site was very well laid out with great views of Exmoor. Hardstanding pitches were a good size. It had been very wet when we visited and some of the grass pitches had been closed. Drainage seemed to be quite poor.
You can walk to a nearby pub, but we ate at The Bridge Inn at Dulverton which was very nice, but has a small dining area so booking advised.
