What a nice site in a great location set it a peacefully wooded area. This is our second visit to this site. The staff are really friendly and welcoming there was one comment in the visitors book written by a customer moaning about the staff. But replied to by the Warden relating to them being told about their dog not being on the lead WELL DONE WARDEN rules are there to be obeyed.
Will be returning again as love it there.

Visited the third week of July for our first time.
Not too much trouble getting to the site through
Grange but the site entrance needs care as it is tight with a large caravan. Pleasant wardens on arrival & though most pitches do seem a bit too gloomy with the trees our pitch wasn't too bad at all. Very quiet site. It's location makes this site
Worth it with walks a plenty all round. We hardly used the car all week. We did Catbells, Borrowdale & Castle crag, Lodore Falls, Derwent, Keswick of course & managed Haystacks on our last day.
Apart from 2 nights of rain the weather played ball & we had a great time here.

Returned to this excellent site for a few days. There are new staff who are really welcoming and helpful and the site was maintained to a high standard as always.
Excellent base for walking, canoeing and other outdoor activities and just a short walk to the Mary Mount and Lodore hotels which have friendly bars with decent food and drink.
Excellent mountain scenery in the area and a chance to see loads of wildlife: deer run freely in the local fields if you're out early enough in the morning.

Location
The site is situated in National Trust woodland, in the heart of Borrowdale and overlooked by great mountain scenery. It's a very short walk to Derwentwater where there are several opportunities for walks and watersports.
The village of Grange is a ten minute walk away and has a couple of cafes and a hotel where non-residents are welcome. A little further is the Scafell Hotel in Rosthwaite - a great pub with open fires and great food.
Facilities
The site doesn't have toilet and shower facilities meaning you need to have all sanitation on board. There are electric points, TV hook-ups and water/disposal facilities. All pitches are large, sheltered and hardstanding.
Price
We paid about £14 per night - great value for location.

Just spent another great holiday at Low Manesty. This site needs to be visited to get a picture of how nice it is. Wardens are great very helpful.
Great walks and some lovely tea rooms around the area. No toilets or showers. No play area, however great woods to play in.
Lots of wild life around. Getting to the site is much better now, due to yellow lines in Grange.
Small site 60 pitches some with views of Catbells and the lake, most pitches are a good size, small shop selling local bread and sausages along with some basics.
Will be going back again.

A really lovely site. Set amongst the trees and only a stones throw from the lake.
We were able to get on the site at the last minute (possibly because there are no showers or toilets which may put people off) and we stayed for 6 nights.
We have young children, who loved the site.
Big wide pitches amongst the trees.
Only a couple of minutes walk to the lake. Very easy walking with wide paths. Recommend the Borrowdale Hotel for food. A lovely garden to sit in when its sunny.
Recommended site and we will definitely return

Spent another night at this excellent site while touring the Lakes.
The site has no showers and toilets, but excellent service points and disposal points. All pitches are in woodland offering privacy and all have electricity and TV hook up.
The Lake is accessed from the site's back gate, as well as some of the best walking in the Lakes in the Borrodale Valley.
Locally, the Lodore Hotel and others in the area make great places to pop in for a drink and bite to eat.
A great site - great value - great location.

Wow! This is a real gem of a site, tucked away in the woods(sun-lovers be warned!) but quite close to the lake.
The site is split into sections so it doesn't feel like a 60 pitch site. We were pitched in 'Cat Bells' with 7 other pitches within that area so as you can imagine it was very peaceful and quiet (apart from the birdsong and resident pheasants).
All pitches are hardstanding with electric and tv hook-up available. There are only 2 water points on the site but this didn't cause us a problem as they are quite central to most pitches. There are no toilet/shower facilities so come prepared!
The shop stocks all the basics and there is a Booths supermarket in Keswick about 5/10 mins drive away at the north end of the lake.
There is no play area for children but as the lake is only a few minutes walk away our children (aged 8 and 11)were quite happy paddling in the lake or playing in the stream in the woods.
The village of Grange is very pretty and is about 20mins walk away from site. It has a lovely tea garden with reasonable prices.
There is, however, one word of warning about Grange! The road through the village is very narrow and due to limited parking, cars park on both sides of the road making it extremely difficult to get through with tow-car and caravan. We arrived after 6pm and left before 9am to avoid any obstructions and would strongly advise others do the same if at all possible.
We stayed for 9 nights which just wasn't long enough and have booked again to go back in October - can't wait.

Spent another great week at Manesty.
As always, staff are great - really helpful and welcoming.
The week we were there was very wet with strong, but the facilities held out well and the trees thankfully stayed rooted!
If you have a car, it's a great base to go to the best bits of the lakes easily. We went to Newlands, Honister, Buttermere and Loweswater. Without the car, the site is still great, as there are dozens of excellent high and low level walks right from the site. Nearby Grange is good for refreshments.
Great site!

Enjoyed yet another stay at this excellent site. We used the leisure facilities at Lodore Falls for one of the days - they have indoor and outdoor pools, gym, sauna, hot tub, tennis and squash. A nice luxury while camping.
The site has limited facilities, so you need your own toilet and shower. However, al pitches have an electric point and TV arial socket.
Walking in this area is great, with some of the best routes and scenery right on the doorstep, from easy routes round Derwent Water to more challenging higher fell walks.
A great site.
