Mmmmmmm ! Ok the site itself is very well maintained with immaculate toilet / shower facilities and friendly wardens but it's situated in a very deprived area (backing a playing field with a council estate on one side and mud flats on the other ! There is a well stocked Tesco express at the garage 15 mins walk and a Harvester pub just over mike away ! But that's about it ! Take a tour around the local area and it's not very nice at at all ! There are a lot of better located sites on the Gower so don't waste your time here ! We will not be back

Only stayed the night here but couldn't fault it. Whole site was spot less with extremely helpful staff. Pitches were really nice size and level. Did get very bitten in the evening so be aware and take some citronella. Little one loved the play area but better suited for older kids (my little one is only 3). Really nice dog walking area. Showers were amazing, probably the best shower I have ever had on a camp site. Local town very close with everything you need.

Gowerton has easy access for towing, and is just 10 minutes from the M4. It is level and in a rural setting but not isolated. You can hear the traffic in the distance but it is by no means intrusive. In fact it was really quiet, even when it was full on the weekend which was at the start of our hot Summer.
The site has a really nice lay-out, a big site but lots of separation area's makes it feel smaller. It has a separate enclosure for guest parking/late arrivals area with EHU's. Very impressive.
Nice clean shower block with lashings of warm water and provides a second toilet block for when the main block is being cleaned, all with key access for your peace of mind.
Good dog walks, Childrens' play area, rally fleld, fish & chips/newspaper deliveries and is so close to so many beauty spots and attractions only this part of Wales has to offer, they really are too numerous to mention.
Gowerton village also has its own railway station reaching as far as Fishguard or London if you have family wanting to join you.
There is a members only (key-access) walk from the site to a large, dog-friendly Park with benches, it has a children's' playground, good walking and cycling paths, and there are public toilets in the park club-house. There is also a teenagers skate-board park and Basket Ball court adjoining the main Park.
The 'Welcome to Gower' public house near the local garage does a very nice lunchtime daily Carvery For £5. 95. We had Turkey & Beef with a selection of fresh vegetables, including cauliflower cheese and all the trimmings.
The Garage sells essentials but the nearest Aldi is about a 15 minute drive away in Gorseinon. It is approx 30 mins to Swansea with all that a city has to offer.
At under £18 all in, including awning, EHU & 2 dogs etc, plus key access Security, it is good value and another fine example of the benefits of joining the Caravan Club.
We enjoyed a great week here and I just have to thank Paul, the hard-working and cheerful warden for a warm and appreciated welcome, and for taking time to explain all we needed to know on our first visit to Gowerton. He keeps this wonderful, busy site in order without being dictatorial. He gets our top vote for Best Warden.
I recommend Gowerton campsite to you all, and we look forward to returning to Gowerton Ourselves soon.

Just got back from and overnight stay at Gowerton, the weather was stunning and site looked full, however toilet block remained spotless throughout. Play area that our grandchildren enjoyed. There were plenty of kids on site but we did not feel they were a problem. The Wardens were friendly and helpful.
Great dog walk, a wooded area with plenty of paths for dogs and walkers to explore, if I had one small criticism it would be that dog walk could do with gates to stop dogs getting back onto site.
The pitches were flat and spacious divided up into small fields with a mix of hard standing and grass in each field. These fields then divides by hedges of mature trees. There was enough bird life to keep our grandson occupied.
There was a bit of traffic noise from adjoining roads but the lane outside site is well used but I walked dogs without a problem.
Didn't get chance to get to local pubs but will put that right next time we visit. The wardens have a comment book in the information hut which is full of feedback on local Eateries and there seemed to be many recommendations.
As for location, Gower is just around coast with every thing that the beach lover could want, the Brecon Beacons are within an hours drive with all walking and mountains they are justly famed for.
This site is an excellent base from which to visit such areas. Swansea and Mumbles have plenty to offer and Cardiff and the rest of Southwales is easily accessible.
Would recommend and will visit again

The site is on the edge of Gowerton which is an unattractive small town with little to recommend it. The site is reasonably level with tree edged paths and one side bounded by a fairly busy road which can be noisy in the evenings and night. (There is also some noise from the nearby railway. ) This side of the site is open to the Loughor Estuary and can be blowy as we found out!
The toilet block is spacious, modern and kept very clean, with the added convenience of an additional block available during cleaning( other sites note!)The laundry room has 1 washer and 1 dryer plus sinks and is reasonably priced and very well kept. I never had to queue or wait to use either.
The site was fairly busy over the Easter period with numbers of children on bikes and scooters round and round the washblock. There is a children's play area so this should not be allowed and some of the children appeared to be under no supervision at all. As a mum with a ten year old I found this surprising on a CC Site. The wardens and assistants were friendly and gave info and recommendations on the local area.
The area has lovely beaches and walks but little of cultural or historical interest. Without good weather there is a limited amount to maintain interest.
The Wetland Centre in nearby LLanelli is excellent as is the Archery and Falconry Centre at Perriswood. The National Waterfront Museum was a real let down, the exhibits are supposedly cutting edge and cover Wales industrial and technological history but we found it boring and lacking in interest even for keen students of social history. One to miss unless the weather is truly appalling.
For a good meal and very good service try the Greyhound Inn in Llanrhydian, excellent value and gorgeous Gower lamb, beef and cockles. Also Verdis on the Prom at Mumbles, wonderful ice cream and huge portions!

Nice friendly wardens, easy access & a good location for Swansea area, sports centre next door & loads of choice supermarkets within 5 mins of site. We had a lot of rainfall which killed of most of the site, even lots of the hard stand pitches were turned off, strange the way they have hard stand pitches out on there own away from the road, so you still need to drive over all the grass to get to them. But that will put you nearer the railway line but doesn't make to much noise. Good size pitches & immaculate toilet block.

We really enjoyed our stay at this site. It is very well appointed, with clean, secure facilities. The wardens were very helpful and welcoming.
Whilst we were on the Gower the weather was poor, but we enjoyed exploring the area's beaches, hills (not huge) and lanes.
If you are planning a visit to the Gower, then bring plenty of loose change for the car parks, and if, like my wife, you have difficulty walking on uneven ground, then do a bit of research as to which beaches are easiest to visit.
Oh, and if you are taking a dog (as we did) then they are banned on a lot of the area's beaches from May to the end of September.

We took our first trip ever to this site on the Royal Wedding weekend and have to say we found it very good.
Received a warm welcome from the wardens and found the site very clean so much so that my kids actually kept asking to use the showers.
Loved the fish and chips on the Fri night (also available Sat). There is a train line which runs close to one part of the site but we found that to be no issue. About 20-30 mins from some of the lovely Gower beaches its an area much overlooked en route to Tenby etc but it is well worth a visit.
The site is well laid out and you are not crammed in like sardines are you are on some of the more commercial sites closer to some of the beaches (but for which you may still face taking the car or having a fair walk).

There have been several improvements to the site in the recent past, not least getting a Noise Abatement Order on the model car racers in the next field! This winter, there have been entry and exit barriers installed with new fencing giving a new feel to the arrival area. The wardens work very hard to improve the appearance and there are hoards of daffodils planted since last year! Road surfaces have been improved too. I understand that land drainage had some improvements as well at the beginning of this season. Only time, rain and tides will tell how effective this has been.
This is the nearest Club site to the wonderful Gower beaches - Gowerton has been called the gateway to the Gower - but there are a few CLs further onto the peninsula if you want to focus solely on the walks here. As someone else said, if weather doesn't warrant walking, the site is excellently placed to reach other points of interest in the area - caves, waterfalls, National Botanic Garden of Wales, cinemas, shopping etc etc.
Well worth a visit and if you are there when the higher tides are evident, it's spectacular watching the adjacent salt marshes (and the site's approach road) disappear to become part of the sea.

The site is the usual caravan club standard. All facilities immaculately maintained. Showers are a food size with adequate space to get dried etc. The laundry has a good washer - wash lasts 30 mins for £3 - not bad, only one though and it is popular.
The site is well laid out and very flat. The site is a way from the gower peninsula. We were advised to view worms head in the week as one of the campsites doesn't charge for parking, the other charges £3 daily.
The site is adequate for visiting the area but if its raining the site offers little in the way of amusement. Although it is a clean spacious site the immediate surrounding area is poor only a tesco express and the town is a bit tatty. There is a train track at the back of the site and can be heard on site. Dog walk is good
