This was our first ever trip in our first ever caravan! We were so pleased we chose this site as it is absolutely immaculate with incredibly clean and warm showers. The facilities were great for those with children with 2 large family 'wet rooms' with shower toilet and basin. Plenty of hooks and a chair to keep towels and clothes dry. We had a decent sized hardstanding pitch, most of these seemed to be seasonal pitches and there were a number of unoccupied caravans around us, this just meant it was very quiet. Most tourers seemed to be in the field behind us where most of the pitches were grass. We would have been happy in either section, the whole site is lovely.
The site is in such a lovely location with a 10 minute walk down into Hutton where our girls (aged 6 and 9) loved paddling in the stream and playing pooh sticks with pine cones collected on the walk down. Take some waterproof trousers or you'll end up with very soggy children which could make your uphill walk back to the caravan park a little challenging (take it from us!).
The dog (and us!)loved the farm walk around the site from where we saw rabbits, pheasants and a deer. We were a bit disappointed the pigs weren't in their sty but wondered if it was a bit too cold for them, even the daffodils were barely brave enough to show their faces!
There is a so much to do in this area and because of the location you could have a car free weekend as the moors bus stops in the village. We shall certainly return, we all loved it and the children didn't seem to miss a formal play area, there was plenty of space for them to use their imaginations!

You won't be disappointed in this site.
It is somewhat isolated on a working farm and the walk into Hutton is 10 minutes down across a field on a hill, so avoid if you are unfit although it is walked easily if you are reasonably fit. The facilities are very good as described by other reviewers.
Very quiet, large pitches, a slight slope on some that requires small ramps to level any vans.
The owners of this site are easy good natured and have the site managing off to a tee.
Hutton is small and very pleasant. There are a few shops, about 6, plus a museum and a pub.
We loved it and would return.

This was our second time here and I'm sure we'll go again.
It's flat and well drained (it needs to be after all this rain), great facilities, friendly welcome and loads to do nearby.
The toilets are very well maintained and the free showers have plenty of hot water. The block is actually heated to the point my glasses steamed up every time I walked in, mind you it was pretty cold outside (yes, it was the end of June/beginning of July!).
Free use of fridges and freezers with plenty of capacity, too, which is great.
The Crown pub is about 10 mins walk away, it serves very good food and has a good choice of beer.
We have two children aged 2 and 5 and this is an ideal place for them because of the facilities and the space for them to run around and play.
A great site!

Me and my wife had a fantastic long jubilee weekend here,
It's the second time here and still as good as ever toilets/showers & wash area spotless and in the laundry area they even have a chest freezer and 3 fridges for your use free of charge,
With it being the jubilee they even put on a free buffet with loads of food free again.
Pitches are massive. Loads of good walking. Cant fault it one bit. A massive 10 out of 10 in everything about it. Keep up the good work and see you again soon.

Spent 3 days mid week during school holidays and still plenty of space for our 6 man tent. Toilet block nice and clean with plenty of hot water. This is open 24/7.
Free use of fridge freezers, indoor and outdoor washing area and plenty of drinking water points.
There are a couple of pigs near which eat all your green waste, kids love this. Plenty to do near by, short walk to Hutton Le Hole through farmers fields.
There is a pub, cafes and museum there. Well pleased with this site despite the wind and rain.

What a fanatic site this is, the staff are so friendly and the facilities are first class, with lots of hot water at the free showers.
The farm walk for the dogs is just amazing with the most fanatic views, it was a good long walk with regular dog bins for waste. This is a very dog friendly site.
We had a grass pitch with has loads of room even with an awning. There was loads of water points so you didn't have to walk to far.
Feeding the pigs is a good way of getting rid of leftovers and the kids on the site seem to love them.
The mobile fish and chip van calls in the village on Mondays bewteen 6. 45pm and 7pm and the fish and chips are very nice, although so are ones from kirbymoorside, which also has some good shops. Try the Penny Bank Cafe which is very good value.
Market is at Pickering on a Monday. This without a doubt one of the best sites I have been to an have booked up for another 2 visits.

Love this campsite. Showers hot, plenty of very clean toilets, freezer, fridge, washer, drier and indoor washing up facilities.
The village is wonderful and about 10 mins walk awaythrough a field, nice 'dog friendly' pub, few independent shops and a great museum for kids and the family(also dog friendly).
Plenty of walks from the campsite and not to far from the Dalby Forest or Hemsley. Owners friendly and helpful.
The site is situated at the top of a hill so you do work off those extra calories when walking back from the pub.
This will definitely be site that we return to.

Just got back from a 3 night stay with EHU at westfield lodge what a lovely site and layout, caravans seem to be spaced around the toilet block but it wasn't that far for us campers to walk,
Tents with ehu were next to the caravans then it was non electric at the top of the field, good space in between tents, friendly staff,
Shower toilet block clean and tidy, 2 washing up areas one outside and one inside, washer/dryer-small charge, chest freezer free to use.
Lovely walk down into hutton le hole from the campsite takes around 20 minutes downhill, farm walk starts at the campsite and is about a 3 mile walk.
The kids loved will and kate the on site pigs your able to feed/stroke them and are quite friendly, there's a large field for ball games etc.
Only down side is there's no kids play area with swing, slide maybe they could look into putting one in the large field ??? was good to see kids just all coming together and playing though. Well worth a visit

Another enjoyable stay at this site. All facilities fabulous as we have previously reviewed.
Coming back each year you can see the continual improvements that are being made to make visitor comfort even better. This year we noticed additional bin enclosure on the top camping field and improved paths. On the path through to the utilities block, chippings have been laid; previously this got really muddy in wet weather and although it was dry when we stayed this time I am sure this has reduced if not eliminated the problem. Annabel and Richard and their team should be congratulated for their hard work.
One unpleasant incident during our stay :- a large group comprising several families arrived on the Friday obviously geared up for a party weekend with music to share with the rest of the site. Despite being politely asked by others and us to turn the volume down and show consideration for other campers they didn't pipe down after dark and the 10.30pm quiet time rule. They were asked again and were argumentative. When a complaint was made at the farm, the owner came and quickly and decisively took action to resolve the problem and peace was restored.
The noisy group did leave the next day as directed but unfortunately not before another couple camping near them went home a day earlier than planned because of the disturbance.
I have put this in the review only to show that this site is well run and inconsiderate behaviour is not tolerated. The site is located in a very quiet and peaceful spot and we will look forward to going back again.
A particular joy here is the space for children to explore and play and the fabulous views and walks on the doorstep.
