Site is very clean and tidy and friendly, with loads of hot water.Good level pitches, we had quite a bit of rain but ground drained well.
They also sell camping GAZ which is good.Nice walk to village from the site, nice friendly village with a few tourist shops, big downside is that there is no general store and no were sells fresh milk etc.
Kirbymoorside is the nearest place for food shops. Plenty to do in the area. Will use site again. Paid 14.00 per night for tent 1 adult and two children.

Had to take the car into Kirby Moorside for a service so we thought that as we had to travel all the way over there from Bridlington we may as well take the caravan. A few weeks earlier we had toured the area looking for a suitable site and came across this one, somewhat unexpectedly. We had visited CC and C&CC sites in the area and thought that this one fitted our requirements.
Booking is nice and easy via an exchange of e mails and a small desposit of £10 is required. Apparently weekends are usually booked up so it pays to book well in advance for this area of the North Yorkshire Moors.
The site comprises of a reception building which includes toilets and laundry room and is open 24 hours. (Reception has much shorter hours!). Adjoining reception is a field which seems to be mainly for season pitches, mostly hardstanding, and very quiet.
Over the hedge and you are into the main touring area. Again the first row of caravans seem to be season hardstanding pitchs. The rest of the area is set out in three sections facing east/west. The west area was all tourers and is the quietest part of the site as caravanners are mainly older individuals without children (such as us!). Those pitches having been taken we were on the middle section which ended up with three caravans, four tents and a motor home. The tents included something like fourteen children with ages ranging from about 1/2 up to 13 and all year groups in between.
The eastern section of the site had 2 caravans and two tents.
There is a playing field for the kids although they did seem to prefer to play near their tents and I did have to ask one lad to be a little careful after his football hit the caravan. Going away during August you are always going to have children doing what they do.Enjoying themselves. Can be a bit of a bind if you want quiet but then wherever you go during August.
Plenty of water points and hook up points (16amp)with next to no walking to collect water each day. Toilets are immaculate. I did think that just the one toilet and two urinals in the gents may be insufficient for the number of vans/tents but they never seemed to be occupied. There was another in the 'family' shower room and another in the separate laundry. My wife considered that there were sufficient in the ladies. We got the impression that the owners must have been in every few minutes to clean up because they were always, as I say, immaculate.
TV reception was perfect on digital giving us any number of channels we didn't want and many more than we can get at home. So kept up to speed with the Street and East Enders! Going away when there is football on you don't want to miss and this could be your destination.
The site itself was very well maintained, tidy, clear of rubbish. It has a fabulous farm walk/dog walk which goes all the way around the perimeter of the farm and is a nice half hour to 45 minutes amble. Plenty of bins for you know what to ensure that the site is kept clean. You are quite high and can enjoy views for many miles over to the Hawardian Hills in the south; towards Sutton Bank in the West and Dalby Forest in the East. Leave the farm via the top field and walk down the bracken covered moor to join the Tabular Walk marked on the OS. Nice circular jaunt turning towards the village of Hutton Le Hole, through the village and back up a field hill to the caravan site.
Village Pub about a ten minute walk away where you can sit outside with your pint and meal and just watch the world go by.
Hutton Le Hole also has the Ryedale Museum which runs back over a couple of fields and can keep the kids entertained for a few hours.
You have Farndale Eskdale and Rosedale to the north to enjoy. Between Huton le Hole and Castleton the Coast to Coast walk (Esk Valley Walk)crosses the area at the Lion Inn on Blakey Moor (about 8 miles north of Hutton Le Hole).
Kirbymoorside is about three miles away and is a bit of an olde world village in that it has local shops - no nationals other than Spar and Co-op. It has a shop for everything - Chemist, Hardware, Electrical, Bookshop, Greengrocers, Butchers, Deli, Florist, Garage, newsagents. All you could ever want. Plenty of parking both on and off street. Off street is charged at £1.10 per hour. Just do all your shoping here. Its a charming place.
At the end of your day, the site rules indicate that quiet should be observed after 10.30pm and it was.All the little tinies tired out by then!
Very well presented and maintained site in glorious countryside with very Welcoming owners.

Just returned from trip to Hutton Le Hole Caravan Park. Our group had 2 tents, altogether 4 adults and 5 kids aged between 5 and 15.
We absolutely loved this site!
Apparently it was completely full this weekend, yet did not feel cramped. All dealings with the owners were very positive.
Facilities (wash up stations, showers and toilets) were very clean and of a great standard. Several people we spoke to there have obviously been several times before and it is quite obvious why.
We used the site as a base to visit Pickering, Dalby Forest, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby but were very happy to return to the site where the children played football and cricket with other children from the site.
Would very much recommend this site.
Oh. And we found the prices very reasonable too!

Booked on the morning of visit - very friendly site owner. Easy to find, good access road down to site. Good flat pitch with hook up, water tap adjacent.
Excellent showers/toilets - also laundry and fridge freezer facilities in utility room. Site well screened and grass well cut yet still had the feel of being on a farm as opposed to a park.
Good gravelled path ways. Site had a family feel with a good mix of tents, caravans both static and visitors.
Great circular farm walk past the resident pigs!
Easy access via public footpath to the centre of village where there is a good pub and tea shops.

The site has a lovely family feel to it and manages to combined a smart, well run site with a very relaxed and laid back attitude.
The front of the site is for caravans and I did feel a sense of dread as they were all regimented on their hardstandings but the tent field at the back is different. It is flat and sheltered and we could choose where we wanted to stay.
The toilet block and showers are excellent and free. One slight niggle is that the showers were not very powerful and set too hot but they were free and beautifully clean. The campers are encouraged to clean up after themselves and it seemed to work. Please note that there are a lot of additional showers beyond the laundry room so don't waste time waiting for the showers in the men's like my husband did this morning!
There is a double sink by reception which has very hot water for the washing up and this is outdoors. This was not a problem this weekend having had perfect weather but it would be a different story with normal summer weather. It also gets crowded after meal times but is a good way to chat to fellow campers.
The acoustics at the site are rather strange, sound carries very well in certain directions. We felt like we were sitting on the knees of the large family group that chose to talk late into the night. A bit annoying but we feel like we know them very well now! The site asks for people to turn it down at 10.30 but this was not enforced.
I heartily recommend this site and we will certainly be back for as many weekends as we can over the coming months.

Small site in a beautiful location, just outside and above Hutton Le Hole.
The 'farm walk' is a must - the views at the far end, before the path turns right, are wonderful; out onto the open moor. Similarly the cut through to the village offers a view which will stay with you long after you've pitched up and gone home!
Back to the site itself; fairly open, one field largely used by seasonal tourers and then a second field which is half for tourers and half empty (presumably for tents - although there weren't any when we stayed). The pitches are of generous enough size, mainly level, some grass / some hard-standing. Drainage certainly seems good - it rained heavily throughout the night during our visit but soon dried out. The views from the pitches meanwhile are pleasant enough and a few yards in any direction will see them open up.
The owners seem laid back and friendly, no over-bearing rules and regs. Toilet facilities were spotless, although there didn't seem many of them (I think we missed the 'unisex' ones mentioned by others.) Finally at £13.50/night for a honeypot area - good value; we will certainly be back.

Stayed at this site in mid September for 5 nights, alongside daughter and partner in a tent. This is a well kept site with flat pitches and short grass. The owners are really helpful and made sure we could be adjacent even though the tents are usually at the top end of the field. There are a number of semi-permanent vans on site in the field nearest to the amenities, but overall there is plenty of space to play games etc. The facilities are clean and well maintained with enough showers and cubicles. Plenty of free hot water for showers too. Best of all were the dog walks around the farm and from the farm up into Farndale and onto the open moors. Walk down to Hutton le Hole is easy, but steep coming back! We would definitely return to this site. Take care if using a SAT NAV to get to the site - you could end up in a ford with deep water.

Just returned from our short weekend break at this lovely site. On arrival, our first impressions were of a very clean and spacious site. The toilet / shower block was always clean with plenty of hot water. There is two family rooms, six showers and plenty of toilets. Other facilities included washing machine and tumble driers, fridges and freezers and inside and outside pot washing sinks. This block was open 24 hours a day.
There is two areas to the site. The first part is mainly hard standing pitches of regular size with all the usual water points and ehu as expected. The second field is all grass, very well tended and the pitches here were larger with plenty of space to take car, caravan and awning and to still have enough room to sit outside. There is plenty of water points here too with most pitches having their own tap and ehu. The site is well sheltered from any winds. Although this site does not advertise itself as being adults only, there is no play facilities for kids although there is plenty of space for flying kites and ball games etc. Highly recommended

This is a wonderful site. As previous reviews have stated it is very quiet and the pitches are well spaced out.
It is very safe for children, loads of room for running about. The farm walk is really nice.
Very clean toilets and showers, plenty of free hot water. Never had to wait to use them even at peak times.
Owners were really friendly and helpful.
As stated before don't rely on satnav to get you there check your map first as it tries to take you down what was the 'old road' and you have to cross a ford, which is impassable unless you have 4x4.
We liked it so much we have booked to go again next month!

What a little gem brilliant site, owners very nice and helpful. Toilets and showers always very clean. A very safe haven for kids. Lovely dog walks around site. Only 10 mins walk from site to the lovely village of hutton le hole, nice shops and a lovely chocolate factory, and only one pub which is open at night. 5 mins drive to kirbymoorside which has a lovely chinese takeaway. Lots of lovely places to visit within driving distance. Coming back end of year recommend it
