We have just returned from our 2 week holiday in St Austell. This is the second year we have been to Old Kerrow farm because we liked it so much. The owners Will and Kathryn are very friendly and always make you feel welcome. The campsite is always clean and tidy and peaceful. It drains well which is a good job as it rained for the whole holiday. The facilities are very good, with a bar where the whole family are welcome, which has a balcony where you can watch the children on the playground. The play facilities have been improved this year. Toilets and showers always clean and plenty of hot water. Electric hook up, water and drainage at each pitch. We would recommend this site to anybody visiting Cornwall. It is in a good central location to tour round other places. Beaches, supermarkets (Tesco and Asda) and pubs with good food very nearby. Very reasonably priced. More improvements to the site are planned for the future. We will definitely be returning to this site.

We have just returned from a week at Old Kerrow Farm Park, and although it has been a rather wet and very windy week we have thoroughly enjoyed it and were rather upset to be packing the camping gear away until next year. Although the rain pelted down, and I mean 'pelted down'. The ground was very well drained, mainly due to the slope we were camping on, which although it didn't look too steep was surprisingly so as we found when we kept on rolling off our airbeds. But even so that was much better than sleeping on marshland, which most of the sites seemed to be after the rains! Wonderful dog walks through wooded areas and around the caravan storage area at the top of the site and a great play area for kids - well thought out and much appreciated and suitable for most age groups, even teenagers enjoyed it as it also had ball walls for scoring goals through. The bar was pleasant and equipped with a pool table and a dart board, tables were set up outside on a decked area over-looking the kids play park, but we were surprised that a dog friendly site wouldn't allow you to take the dog onto this decked area, so as we couldn't leave the dogs in the car or the tent the option of a pleasant drink at an outside table watching the kids playing wasn't really an option. The site is separated into two fields, the first being a 'No Dogs' camping / caravanning field and the second was a 'Dogs on Leads' field which suited us perfectly. The site advertises 50 pitches with electric hook-up which was wonderful but only has 2 ladies toilets and 2 ladies showers and the same for the gents. The loo rolls were frequently amiss and the condensation running down the walls in the shower / toilet block was constant which meant that your clothes got wet hanging on the broken hooks in the shower area. There was only a small corner shelf to put anything else on which wasn't really sufficient and beware - the temperature in the showers couldn't be controlled, it was burning first thing and cold after breakfast when everyone was washing up their breakfast pots in the 2 sinks available. The site was adequate and obviously had areas which had had a lot of thought put into them but other areas, eg. The ablutions block was sadly lacking. Someone said they were planning a swimming pool for next year, I think other areas should be addressed first. The weather was awful but we kept our spirits up and enjoyed a great holiday . If you want an excellent pub meal, cheap with great choice then you must go to the Bugle pub, in Bugle on the crossroads, it's amazing, there were 8 of us and they catered for us quickly with amazing meals 4 nights out of our 7 in the tent, prices for 8 varied between £41 and £50 for everyone - amazing! In summary, this isn't a site we would readily go back to, but some of the customers evidently go back year after year, and we did enjoy our hols at the end of the day.
******* Owners response to review from MAcArt *******
As the owners we always like to comment on reviews which we feel have unfairly portrayed our business. The comment says that the family were pitched on a slope and constantly rolled out of their beds, we do have some gently sloping pitches but these are booked out to the ones that book later in the season and they are pitches which generally are used for late bookers. They are always told when they are booking that the pitch is gently sloping. The ideal answer is to book early and then you can pick which pitch you would like.
You can watch the children play and enjoy a drink in the field, the decked area is a non dog area as it is a quiet area for those that don't enjoy dogs. We try to accommodate both dog and non dog lovers here, so dog owners will on occasions have to compromise, all our guests requirements need to be considered.
The toilets are always cleaned 4/6 times per day and we have rarely been informed of any consumables that have run out, but we are only human, just inform us and we will address the issue straight away.
The water is not controlled through the sinks which are used for the potwash, it is on a constant and different supply and again did you inform us of this at the time of your visit?
We think as the owners it is always best practice to let us know when you are staying with us of anything you are not happy with.

We have just returned from a 17 day trip to Old Kerrow Farm. This is our 4th visit and we will be returning again next year, and if possible again before the end of this year. You will get a really warm welcome from Kathryn, Will and their two sons Sean and Benjamin. This is a family run site which reflects in the great atmosphere. The site is very clean and although there are childen on site it is very peaceful. We had a Hardstanding Pitch with full 16 amp electrics, fully serviced, as are all the pitches. We had no problems with the showers as they were never over crowded. The Showers and Toilets were immaculate, 5 Star. The clubhouse is great with plenty to do for the chidren inside and out. This site is very central for visiting all the tourist attractions, The Eden Project is ten minutes away. Thanks Will and Kathryn for a great time, see you soon, dont forget to stock up on the Cornish Cream and the Cornish Lust!

I have just returned from a great holiday at Old Kerrow Farm, it is so peaceful and quiet and the owners are lovely and friendly.
They manage the site well and make sure everyone has a great time but also adheres to the site rules which are just common sense and courtesy towards other site users.
It is so peaceful and quiet at night and they make sure that everyone knows it is a quiet site as the rules are sent out before arrival, so you know what to expect.
I cant wait to return next year and even in the awful weather we have just had, they made our stay an enjoyable one. We will definetely be back.
Keep up the great work
The Cooper family

We had a lovely stay at Old Kerrow Farm where the owners made us most welcome. A great base for touring the sites of cornwall. The sites facilities were good, toilets etc. The dog walks was good well marked out at the top end of the site and the clubhouse was just right for a small nightcap at the end of the day. The weather could have been a lot kinder to us. Thank you for a lovely stay, see you again soon.

We've just stayed at this site for 9 nights. We were greeted and welcomed by Kathryn who walked us to our pitch. We had electric hook-up right next to the tent, shared with the neighbouring tent, as was the water tap, which was great. The site is very spacious and very well-maintained. Our pitch had plenty of room, not packed up close together like some sites. The site itself was peaceful and quiet, and a central location for exploring all the great places around the area. There are rules for the site, as there are for any site, but these really were just common sense. The play area was great for the children, and we were able to sit on the decking and have a drink whilst supervising them. The toilets and showers were always clean and hot water plentiful. The bins were located at the rear of the site which was great, no nasty smells anywhere near the tents! There is a separate field for campers with dogs. We had a lot of heavy rain during our stay but this made no difference to the smooth running of the site. A huge thankyou to Will, Kathryn and family for such a wonderful stay at this great site. We'll be going back next year for another week, can't wait!

Just returned from a weeks hols at Old Kerrow Farm and just want to congratulate Kathryn, Will and family on the park!
They are extremely welcoming and will help you in any way. Especially if 'Magic Cream' is needed after only being there for half an hour! Basically hadn't had chance to unpack caravan when my youngest came crashing down from his scooter ending in blood all over his hand! Kathryn came to the rescue!
Everything about the park is great. Mains water with every hook up point, Great drainage ( which was tested by the amount of rain we had!) toilets and showers were spotless. There was a play park for the kids to keep them happy and of course the dog walk, which my other half found a church at the end of one of the tracks.
Everything was well maintained and the owners are both working very hard to make Old Kerrow Farm even better for the future!
We will most certainly be making a second visit sometime next year.
Thanks again for everything.

Just got back from Spring Bank Holiday at Old Kerrow Farm, and as is traditional for a Bank Holiday in May, it poured down!
The site is gently sloping, but not so much as to be a problem. We had a pitch with electric hook-up, which was large, and had it's own water supply and drainage. Both were very handy indeed.
The site itself is spacious, and there are currently a number of improvements underway. The toilet and shower facilities were modern and very clean. The showers are free, and are of the push button type.
There is a bar on site with a pool table, dart board, and a large screen television. Outside there is a children's play area, complete with swings, basketball hoop, football facility and tractor.
The site's location is ideal for St Austell, the Eden Project (less than four miles distant), Mevagissey and Gorran Haven. It is located just a few miles off the main A30, so all of Cornwall is easily accessible.

We have just come back from our second visit to this lovely park.
You get a great welcome from Will and Kathryn as soon as you arrive. The caravan was great and the extra touches are great (tea & coffee and milk in the fridge).
The park is a quiet site, and the showers etc are great.
Even though they were working on the site getting it ready for their busy season it did not affect us at all.
We will being going back next year as well all love the site even.

Myself and my family visited Old Kerrow Farm last year for the first time. When we arrived it was a monsoon (no fault of the owners) we were greeted very warmly and the site rules were layed down, which was not a problem as there are other holiday makers to consider.
Even though the weather was dreadful, kathryn walked us to our pitch and made sure we were happy. We found the toilet and shower blocks more than adequate. Even if sometimes one or the other was out of service due to cleaning, which was`nt a problem as we just used the other one and this proved they were being cleaned regulary.
We stayed in the dog friendly field which we found great. The dog walk is handy but a little small, also a bonus as a lot of sites dont have one. You also have badgers walk where there is a nice walking trail which we used to walk the dog. The kids thoroughly enjoyed their stay and were constantly on the large playing area with all the other kids, which is ideal for everyone as it leaves it peaceful for everyone by their accomadation. Very often the kids would return with a tiptop hanging out of their mouths which Will had given them.
There was slight work going on as Will and others where rebuilding a house and noise was kept to a minimum(in fact I did`nt hear a thing) and even though the owners where obviously busy, Will still had time to help me when I had run my battery flat on the car(thanks for that)We did visit the club house in the evening a couple of times and found it to be a nice atmosphere and everyones kids were well behaved.
Quite close to the site there are bicycle trails which are brilliant, where you can cycle safely all day long. Unfortunately you do have to use the main road to get to the begining of the cycle trail which is not ideal but as long as you take your time it`s not too bad. Me, wife, kids and the dog did not have a problem and used them nearly every day. All in all myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Old Kerrow Farm and will return again. Thanks to Will and Kathryn.
