Having looked at the reviews on Old Kerrow Farm Holiday Park, we felt we had to put our views into words on this message board.
We stayed in one of the static vans on this site for one week & thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the site.
We were greeted on our arrival & everything explained fully to help us cope.
The caravan was clean, bedding clean & matching.
Nice touches inside with fresh flowers & a welcoming tray of tea & coffee, also fresh milk in the fridge.
Nice decking balcony with picnic area.
Toilet facilities clean, surrounding area to same also clean.
Excellent position for touring Cornwall.
Thought the touring pitches for caravans & tourers was spacious with hard standing & water & power.
We would definitely return to this site, in fact we have already booked our next holiday.
Many thanks to Katherine & Will for their hospitality & thoughtfulness.

As owners of Old Kerrow Farm, I would like to add to some of the reviews. We are a family run business. We value all our customers and as most of the reviews say, we greet and welcome everyone warmly to our site and to our home.
The toilets and showers are more than adequate for a 50 pitch site with 2 separate blocks, one outside and one inside the clubhouse allowing 4 ladies toilets, 3 ladies showers and the same for the gents and full separate facilities for the disabled & young babies.
These provisons are more than adequate and have used succesfully for the last 5 years.
I do wish that if anyone has a problem whilst staying with us, that they come and mention it to us at any time, we are available throughout the whole day. Some reviews say toilets were not cleaned or the soap ran out, why wait until you return home and write it in a review, but do not use commonsense and mention it whilst you are staying here. We are only human, and yes sometimes things run out, but are replaced immedietely we are aware of it. The toilets are cleaned regularly throughout the day, unless you actually stay in the toilets all day long how do you know how many times they have been cleaned ?
The pitches, are tailored to everyones requirements, everyone is asked if they are happy with their pitch and if they arent we endeavour to change it.
All requirements are asked on booking, for any special needs or requirements. If someone asks for a flat pitch near the toilets that is what they get. If people leave their bookings to the last minute in August, we always describe what the type of pitch we have left. So I can assure if anyone is rolling out of their bed, it is eitheir their choice to pitch their or they left their booking very late.

We enjoyed our two week stay despite some torrid weather. We had a reasonable pitch but on the whole it looked quite up and down in places and would of thought some campers would have found it difficult to remain in bed without sliding out. The site was clean and quiet showers were generally clean but apparently the ladies wasn't always the case and were often messy. The pub on site was a good feature not lively but pleasant. Site was in a good location for exploring the area. There was plenty of room for ball games the childrens area was a little sparce I think this could be updated. The shop had very limited supplies but didnt cause us a problem. We would probably go back provided we had the same pitch.

As 'first timers' we were nervous about our first camping holiday but after our two week break we have already booked to stay at Old Kerrow Farm for next year. On arrival we were greeted by the owners Kathryn and Will who made us feel welcome straight away.
There are two showers and toilets (each for male and female) in the main block and extra facilities in the club house if busy. I can honestly say that I never had to wait for a shower to become available. Shower cubicles were big and water plentiful.
Club house was adequate for our needs - a quiet drink in nice, peaceful surroundings.
Our pitch was large and we didn't feel overcrowded - not like some campsites we saw on our travels!
The whole site was very peaceful as everyone from adults to children knew what was expected of them. Consequently, everyone was in their various accommodation by 11.00.
We found the site an excellent base for both the south and north of cornwall, the north only being approximately half and hour away.
See you again next year Old Kerrow Farm!

We have stayed at this site many times and can only say how fantastic it is. The owners are very friendly and even though we visit in August each year the site is extremely well managed and all the children were really well behaved. It has a lovely clubhouse and it is really family orientated, the showers and toilets are clean and well maintained and plenty of hot water and soap !I am amazed in other reviews someone actually criticises the site for this, I can only say they must be mad. The rules on children are sensible ones and makes sure that the site is lovely for everyone, so don’t bring your children here if they are not well behaved. There are more than 2 showers for the ladies and gents as there are extra facilities in the clubhouse when the others are in use, but I expect the reviewers that didn’t see inside the clubhouse only have themselves to blame, if they had to wait. The pitches are large and spacious and they are not sloping as mentioned before, the owners are very accommodating in finding a pitch that suits everyone’s needs.I will continue to return here year after year, for the peace and quiet and safety for my children and a lovely cosy drink in the bar.Go to Old Kerrow its Great !

Just returned after spending 4 nights at this site. We were given a very large pitch with electric and water. Couldn't fault anything, toilets/showers exellent, bar well stocked and very reasonably priced, 2 dog walks and welcoming owner. Thinking of returning next year for longer.

Three words best sum up this site 'Peace and Quiet'. If you just want a relaxing break this is the site for you. It has a club on site but it does not have loud music blasting out, it is just a nice place to sit and have a drink. The play area is very good for the kids, they have a large playing field just to themselves with a sand-pit, swings etc. There are only 3 showers in each block, but I never had to queue for these. There is an adequate launderette and washing up area round the back of the toilet block. You also have loads of space around each individual pitch which was really nice, as you weren't on top of each other and you had enough privacy.
This is an excellent base for touring and is only approx 3 miles from the Eden Project which I highly recommend to anybody visiting Cornwall. We have an only child who is 6 and he made loads of friends at this site and thoroughly enjoyed the whole fortnight we stayed at this site. If you don't like loud music but prefer quiet I would definitely recommend this site to you.

Given the positive reviews that this site had we were somewhat dissapointed with what we found. On arrival it seemed that it was more important to provide us with a list of rules rather than aquaint us with the site, it's layout (no site plan available) where the dog walks were etc etc. (We had a dog with us and chose this site with that in mind.) Toilet and washing facilities were limited (two WCs and showers per Ladies and Gents plus 1+1 in the bar area) Both WCs in the gents had pan leaks and cleaning of the Ladies and Gents was only undertaken once a day. Given that this was high season with a good number on site this was unfortunately inadequate. The site could do with having rubbish disposal points around the site rather than having to carry waste through the whole length of the site to deposit in the big wheelie bins at the rear of the bar. On reflection our criticisms are of minor status however I doubt, if returning to this area of Cornwall, we would use this site again. This is a shame as it sits in a great area for the Big Cornish attractions, Eden Project, Helligan, China Clay Museum, etc. The owners also need to look at the signage for the site's entry.
Owners comments:
I can assure you the toilets are cleaned between 4/6 times a day, we are a family run business and unless you actually stayed in the toilet block all day how do you know how nmany times it was cleaned.
The 2 toilets in the gents leaked for 2 days as we awaited parts to repair them, signage was in place to tell visitors this fact,
The bins are at the back of the clubhouse, so all the rubbish is contained in one area away from pitches so no-one has to view it, smell it or look at it. We have many visitors say how pleasing this simple measure is.

We received a warm welcome from the owners. A member of staff was available throughout our stay to deal with our few minor questions and always dealt promptly with them. The site itself was reasonably busy, but the pitches were well spaced out so that it didn't feel full. Most pitches have water (nice not to have to carry it), electric hook up points and drained well even in the heavy rain which we experienced for a few days at the start of our stay. The grass was well tended, as is the play field which is a good size. Like others, we were initially concerned that the number of toilets and showers might not be enough, but this didn't turn out to be a problem at all. They were clean and tidy. Although not immediately near the coast and beaches, there is plenty to do in the immediate vicinity including the Eden Project and a number of museums and other attractions. There are also several cycle trails close by which are well worth trying - there is a cycle hire (Jungle Bikes) in Bugle village about a mile away. We'd certainly visit the site again.

We stayed here for a three night break and found it to be a very peaceful site despite it being the start of the school holidays. Showers were huge, hot and very clean! We did feel that the site was let down by the hard standing pitches which didn't look well kept and the drive way into the site really needed upgrading as it was no more than a rough track. However, having said this we would definitely return if we were heading back to the area.
Owner's comment : At that time many of the rest of the country's campsites were under water so of course our lane had suffered from washing out, but we kept the place open and took many other campers from sites which were underwater. The lane has since been re-surfaced
