A useful site for a night or two, but we thought the area was uninteresting as we are not into WW1 cemeteries. Did not expect more though.
It's not far from the autoroute and access is easy, as others have said, just turn up and find a pitch. Unusually, it's quite an open site so no problems with trees and satellite tv.
The swimming pool and restaurant looked ok, but we didn't use them. I think the facilities have been updated, as they seem quite nice.
We thought that driving in Arras was a bit of a nightmare as there is a fiendish one way system so never found the cathedral etc. There is a decent sized supermarket which is signed at a roundabout on the left on the approach to the city, for buying your wine to bring home. It's a bit bigger than the one at Vis en Artois and not much further away.
We had to pay €51. 50 for 2 nights as we were just into high season, a bit steep we thought.

We stayed at La Paille Haute for a full week and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was our first experience of camping in France, so we weren't too sure what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised. The two site owners (a husband and wife team) were delightful, and despite our limited French and their limited English, we got along fine. The site seemed to be used by a mixture of English, Dutch and German campers as a stop over for a night. Some didn't even bother to unhitch or wind their caravan legs down.
The facilities (restaurant, swimming pool etc) were all closed when we visited, as it was a bit early in the season.
We used the site for a base to tour various WW1 sites in the area, and made a day trip to the Menin Gate in Ypres. We also went to Arras and visited the Carriere Wellington. The ticket included free entry to the town hall in Arras and access to the bell tower which was interesting. Using some local maps we were able to find some of the battlefields and were very surprised to discover some unexploded shells and empty flare cases lying hidden in a hedgerow.
The facilities were basic but clean, and the showers and toilets were unisex, with an outdoor urinal. There was plenty of hot water, and push button showers. The site is very spacious and the pitches were all grassed and open plan. Finding the site was very straightforward and access very easy.
A bread van visited every morning, and there was an Intermarche supermarket with a fuel station approx 2 kms away.
We had a very enjoyable stay and for 7 nights at €192 Euro for a family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) including electrical hookup it was very reasonable. We hope to return again at some point.

We booked 2 nights on this site and ended up staying 7 as we loved the area that much. The site is located well for visiting some war graves including Thiepval, Beaumont Hamel and Vomy Ridge. Aaras is lovely with a cathederal and regular markets. The receptionist at the site is extremely pleasant and helpful. There is a supermarket about 3km away in the village of Vis en Artois. Vis also has a pharmacy, bakers and butcher. The pitches are clearly marked out and provide both sun and shade. The facilities were basic, clean and adequate and there was a washing machine and tumble dryer id you needed one. The pool was lovely, very clean but busy when we were there as it was the French main holiday. All in all I would definitely visit the site again.

Overnight stay, nice run to Calais in the morning. Seems to be mostly Brits and Dutch doing overnighters but there is also a large amount of statics at the rear of the site. No issues with access but fairly isolated location so you stay on site or have a drive to Arras, lovely little town with nice bars cafe's etc around a square.
Facilities are okay (not amazing, just ok) near pitches but looking in need of updating near the pool area. Lovely warden, but no booking really, just turn up and grab a space, pitches not marked.
Bar not conducive to sitting and relaxing, has the air of youth club, restaurant was okay, not great but totally packed so you would need to book in advance.
Prices reasonable enough, good playground areas for kids. They do have a sort of petting zoo with sad looking ferrets and chickens, we kind of just felt sorry for them. Strange addition to the site.

We stayed here for five nights as the previous reviews were good. I must say that we throughly enjoyed it. Reception was friendly and helpful (opening hours 9-10am then 6-8pm when we were there but you just turn up & pitch). A bread van visited daily & the site was very quiet & peaceful. However, there was plenty of interesting activity in the late afternoons as the Dutch arrived & positioned themselves ready for an early start in the morning! There is a small area with some animals & a restaurant & swimming pool - although the latter two were not open when we were there. The toilets were adequate & clean. If in a campervan, be warned that the supermarket is about 3kms away. The location is very handy for either an overnight stop or for a longer period as Arras is a lovely town & there is plenty to see in the area.

A lovely site with flat pitches and hookups in a nice quiet village, ideal as a short stay or as an overnight stop to and from the ferry, friendly and helpful staff, (ie telephoned the vets about taking the dog before returning home). The toilet and shower facilities are very much in need of modernisation. Children's play area, swimming pool etc, free wifi and no tax to pay, an added bonus. Some statics.
Arras has an outdoor market on Wednesdays, a town hall and cathedral, it is a place of history and interest, well worth a visit.

Clearly used mainly as a stopover, this is a perfectly good site for a longer stay. It can get very busy around tea time, so make sure you arrive in good time to get a decent pitch. We'd pre-booked, but that didn't seem to have made much difference as we were told to park where we wanted.
Toilet facilities are perfectly adequate, but make sure to let the water run for a minute or two to avoid a cold shower (unless that's what you want of course!). Other facilities include two very good play areas for children, swimming pool and bar/restaurant. It was early season I suppose, so the bar didn't open the first night. But paid a brief visit on the 2nd night and the food seemed to be going down OK. Nice to have two daily bread deliveries to take advantage of -the 8am van was particularly good.
Finally, the site is really well placed for anyone interested in World War 1, particularly the various Somme battles.

This site is very spacious with plenty of room for your motorhome whether it be small or big, grassy pitches with lots of seasonal pitches by the look of the many statics and tourers, the swimming pool was shut when we got there as it is still a bit early so had plenty of choice where to go.
The toilets were clean with mens urinals outside and the toilets unisex which seemed weird to us the first time in France and showers were hot.
The bread van came at 9 in the morning and we had a baguette and a croissant which was quite expensive.
We realise now that all things in France are expensive. Just have to get used to it, the fuel is reasonable though at 133 euro at the time of our visit, that was for diesel.
we went for a cycle ride on the road which led from the site but found it was just a farmers dirt track so turned back.

Just returned from a 1 night stopover on our way from Loire Valley back to Calais, it took us 1.5hrs from site to Tunnel so very convenient for the crossing. We thought this was a lovely little site & very relaxing and quiet. It has a small pool area but it's perfectly sufficient. Owners are very friendly. It has play areas, bouncy castle and a games room for the kids. The facilities are basic/aged but it does have everything you need. There is a sign on reception saying 'free wifi' for those who cannot live without the internet! We would stay here again and maybe even for a bit longer. The village has nothing in it but in the next village is a supermarket and fuel etc so not too far away. Will use the site again on our next trip to France!

Used this site for three nights to visit the WW1 sites, in the surrounding area.
It is very well run, with very helpful and friendly owners.
There is a restaurant and bar on site. You order your main course and then once it arrives at your table,go to where there is a table set up with side dishes, salad etc. And help yourself. Very good value for money and the food was good.
Our children made use of the small fishing lake which was on the site.
The bakery van arrived at 7.30am and 9am,on the two weekday mornings, but we left at 8am on a Saturday and it hadn't arrived so may be later at weekends.
If you are planning to stay here I would advise booking in advance. There are plenty of pitches, but fill up very quickly in the evening with Dutch/Belgium folk who don't bother to hook off the caravan from their car. By the morning the site empties as quickly as it fills up in the evening.
