A very pleasant site conveniently situated within minutes of the A26 and A1, near Arras. Thus ideal for a stopover, but equally good for a few days to explore the area, being close to the Vis En Artois British Cemetery and Memorial and other WW1 points of interest.
Situated within walking distance of the village of Boiry Notre Dame, the site is well signposted and easy to find. We received a warm welcome, which was nice after a full days driving.
The area set aside for tourers is level and well-tended. Some pitches have hedges to separate them, but most have not. It was crowded when we visited in late July, but despite this, was absolutely quiet at night.
The unisex toilet/shower block is relatively modern and clean, but you need to take your own toilet paper. There are sinks for washing up, laundry facilities, and a toilet emptying point.
Additionally there is a swimming pool (which we didn’t use but seemed popular), and a simple cafeteria providing food that could be taken away, if so desired. The site has free WiFi, which we could ‘see’ but were unable to connect to – maybe our pitch was too far away?
A bread van visits the site each morning at 7.45 and 9.15. We didn’t go into the Boiry, so can’t advise if there are any shops there, but we did pass some in a village about 5km away, and also a supermarket (with petrol) maybe 10 minutes drive away.
The site is set in farming country and there are signed footpaths within walking distance.
The site can be pre-booked, using PayPal to pay the deposit.
We intend to use the site again. Recommended.

We found this site after a desperate bid to find a replacement for our 2 night stopover at Peronne (long story).
It was a bit of an oddity in some ways although I'm not fully sure why - maybe the Betty Boop pictures near the loos or the ornate water taps, who knows! Anyway, the owners were friendly & helpful & it saved us pitching by the roadside so I'm not complaining.
It's definitely a stopover place which is a shame because you feel like people should stay for longer to appreciate it more.
The delivery of bread in the morning was handy altho a little expensive but hey ho!

Everything about this site is good, used it to and from The Alsace this June. No need to pre-book in June but DO arrive early because 'overnighters' fill it up by about 6 pm.
Will use it again when en-route to Lake Annecy.
We used the Dover Dunkerque crossing and found the site with ease following the instructions in the Caravan Club Foreign Touring Book Vol 1.
Only 1 short section of pay motorway 1.20Euro!

We stopped here for 1 night en route further South and realised it was the same site we'd used for a 1 night stop last year (but I'd forgotten its name).
For 1 night we didn't use any of its facilities except the toilet block, reception and the bread delivery van; but I would happily stay at this site again.
In reception they are friendly and helpful.
The toilet block we used had everything we needed and was well kept.
The pitches are on good grass and very easily accessable; you can drive straight on and don't even have to unhitch if you don't want to.
It's spacious and you don't feel hemmed in.
Some pitches have shade from mature trees and some have just young trees.
Plus it's real easy to get to from the motorway.
Good.

Ideal stopover site easily reached from the ferry or tunnel crossings. Touring field with separate areas for statics.
No marked pitches, everyone free to find their own space. Open views to countryside, site is on the edge of a village but there are no shops or cafes there.
Unisex toilets and showers but clean. Some sinks for washing up and laundry and toilet emptying point. Drain for motorhome grey water a little tricky to get close to without a hose.
Restaurant / bar on site has a limited selection of well-cooked food to which you can add vegetables from a buffet. Handy if you have travelled all day and don't feel like cooking.
We used this on our way out and back and for a short stop it was an excellent site. It gets very full in the evening with people of many nationalities who get up early next morning to be on their way.
There are places of interest within driving distance but no public transport available.

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed it greatly. Very friendly site, felt safe and secure, not too crowded, quiet, clean and well-maintained. Owner cycles round and if there is excessive noise, for example, tells the culprits to quieten down!
Easy-going management; we were told to pitch wherever we liked, and when I asked what time we had to leave on the last day, they just asked when we wanted to leave.
In terms of facilities, there is everything you need but not much more. Plenty of showers and washing up sinks. Everything unisex.
Standard uk-style electric hookups, no polarity problems.
There is no on-site shop except a bar and restaurant, which is nothing special. A boulangerie van comes most days but usually 15-20 mins later than the stated time. There is nothing in the village but the nearby Biache St Vaast (about 3km) has both a boulangerie and a small supermarket with everything you need.
Internet junkies may be frustrated - there is a PC in the office you can use for 2 Euro per 15 mins, or if you ask nicely you can connect your own laptop; no wifi.
We didn't use the swimming pool but it looked good; note that shorts are not allowed.
For children there was a bouncy castle and two separate adventure playgrounds, one for younger kids. There is also table tennis, volleyball, lots of sand, and a games room with real pinball machines :-) plus a few video games, bar football, air hockey.
The site feels refreshingly uncommercial which suits its rural location.
There is lots to do in the area if you are willing to drive a bit - Arras is nearest town with lots to see, Amiens well worth visiting and about 1 hr away, lots of WW1 memorials of course including the Canadian memorial site at Vimy, Paris is 1 hr away by TGV from Arras, Douai worth a visit too.
Not many brits on the site - mostly Dutch or French. We found we needed our basic knowledge of French to get around - not everyone speaks English, and few are fluent.

We stayed here for 6 nights. A nice peaceful site. Some things are a little dated and a few broken tiles, just minor neglect I suppose. The kids got takeaways from the restaurant. Nice pool & fishing lake on site. A good base for visiting the Somme Battlefields, only 30mins drive away. We had no problems finding the site as it is now well signed in. In a word `yes` we would use it again.

The touring site in La Paille Houte is quite nice, friendly owner speak English, not try the resturant but price looks ok, bread van call twice in the morning, about 7:15 and 9:15, not easy to find the site even with Satnav's help, kind of in the middle of no where, nothing interesting in the little village of Boir Notre Dame, Arras is too far to cycle to, the nearest shop Champion is about 5-6 miles away, ok for stop over but will not stop for more than two nights, we took our motor home to Arras spent nearly whole day there and it's quite easy to find parking place.

Stayed here for 5 days as a break on way back from Southern Belgium and to visit the new WW1 quarries in nearby Arras.
Seems mainly to be used as a stopover for Brits and Dutch in transit to Southern France and Spain.
Area for tourers is set aside from the main static site, hence is nice and quiet, and has views over the fields and valleys.
Facilities are clean but toilets and showers are both unisex. Washing machine and tumble drier available at 3 euro each.
Local baker visits each morning at 7.15 and 9.15 with fresh croissants and bagettes etc.
There is a childrens play area along with a heated outdoor pool and a bar/restaurant open to all in the static area but is well away from the tourer site.
Plenty of shops and supermarkets in Arras which is only 15-20 mins away, there is also a shop in the village itself although we never managed to find it !
Would have no problem with recommending this site to anybody.

We used this little site for a one night stop over on a holiday to the south - arrived on a Sunday.
Really lovely location, very rural with great views yet a stones throw from the main road.
Did not use the restaurant although shared a few vinos with a lovely couple that we met and they did, they reported it as being very ordinary with not a massive selection.
Very good communal loo facilities which looked a little dated but were possibly the most efficient ever used on a campsite - they were like major power showers, certainly woke us up!
Cost I think was about 25 euros for 2 adults and one child, motorhome with hook-up.
Would happily use again - felt safe and welcoming.
Little van arrived at 9am tooted and sold its breakfast items from the back - have to say the croissant were unreal, fresh, flaky and really buttery - best we have ever tasted.
