My wife and I are currently on the third day of our stay in this lovely site. The views from the campsite are stunning and it is one of the best sites we have been to.
When we were looking for a campsite in this area the reviews on UK Campsite were particularly persuasive and so we had high expectations of the place. It is quite a relief that now we are here we can confirm that what others have already said is definitely true and you should come here and enjoy a beautiful place.
The static van we have hired is really well appointed with only a couple of things we would like which would improve it such as an oven (rather than just a microwave) and an electric kettle (rather than the hob top kettle). Otherwise it was lovely and warm with good heaters and a nice shower.
There is free wifi around the bar area and for 20 Euros a week unlimited access from anywhere on the site.

I own a small camper van and have been staying at a number of recommended sites in France over the last two years. I have just returned from spending four nights at a 4 star site named 'Pyrenees Natura' located in Estaing, France. This site is well situated near the Pyrenees national park in the Azun valley with easy access to Cauterets, the 'Pont d'Espagne' and Gavarnie. I highly recommend this camping site for a number of reasons,
. Upon arrival the welcome by the owner/hosts Virgine and Hervé is very warm and informative with a personal visit of the site
. The two sanitary blocks are very clean and warm with all commodities available
. The layout of the site is easily accesible for all forms of camping whether it be tent, caravan and hard sites for motor vans, all with centralised electrical hookups. A service block is available for motor homes.
. It is beautifully grassed and the owners take particular pride and care with all the shrubs and plants
. A food and accessory shop in an old small water mill is always open. Pricing is correct. Fresh bread, baked on site, is available every morning
. The central office contains the office, sitting and television room with a bar and tables for simple evening meals, cooked on site, that are available throughout the season. Conviviality and good food make the evenings very warm and entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed this visit and the site is, amongst all that I have stayed at, one of the best and I will certainly return!

We arrived intending to spend a few days only at the site, having been recommended it by folks on this forum. In fact we stayed over a week as we enjoyed being there so much. Yes, it is a bit out of the way but in some respects that is a blessing as you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the site and the hopsitality of the owners. The food they cook each evening is lovely and v reasonably priced (as is the wine) and the bread is baked fresh every morning. If you enjoy the outdoors then this is a site to seriously consider. We used it as a base for biking and walking but equally you could just stay and relax on the site as it is so peaceful. All the amenities are first class and the owners go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your stay.

We visited this campsite for the 15th time but this time in September as new retired ones. We can highly recommend the season as well as the unique campsite situated in an awesome location. Nature is overwhelming here and the possibilities of taking walks endless. The owners, Herve and Virginie receive you with a warm heart and take care of every (even little) need you might have (even the ones you don't tell them, they notice and solve). The campsite and all its facilities are excellently taken care of and after a long walk (or a lazy afternoon) they serve you an aperitif or/and a warm meal with a smile. They have an excellent choice of wine, aperitifs and even Belgian beers :-). We enjoyed enormously going in September, the beautiful weather (Indian summer - we stayed for 25 days and had 2 days of rain), the peace and quiet (on the campsite as well as while taking walks), the beauty of nature and the warmhearted generous way Herve and Virginie do everything they can to give you an unforgettable vacation !

Excellent site. Toilets, showers and utility rooms spotless. Small shop is well stocked and not rip off prices. Honesty system as not staffed. Also good selection of wines and beers for sale to take out in reception. Plenty to do nearby. Has a small bar and restaurant with tv, free wifi and kids play area outside but unobtrusive and low key. We were camped nearby and not disturbed. Croissants and bread available fresh each morning by order night before - made on site.

We'd chosen this site on the basis of the reviews here and were delighted that the 10/10s are true to their word.
Clean, spacious and apart from the gushing mountain stream, quiet - clean and modern facilities, a friendly welcome, quirky and well stocked honesty shop plus amazing views of the mountains made our stay a fabulous one.
Yes, it's remote but that's the best bit - cycle to the Lac, and free wheel the 3 miles back (great fun), try the take away coq au vin or simply kick back and take in the view. An amazing location.

Excellent site in a beautiful part of the world. We thought we'd just stop one night and ended up staying four! First class shower block. Very friendly owners. Leaving reviews is not something I normally do, but with this site I felt I must. Although there were lots of nationalities staying, there was quite a fair sprinkling of Brits. Maybe they'd all checked out this website?? It was our first time in the Pyrenees and we'd like to go back. If we do, we'll definitely be stopping here again! 10 out of 10!

MERRY CHRISTMAS. Herve.
Just returned from 3 weeks in the French pyrenees where we stayed at several different sites, but I must say that all the others compared to this one were a disappointment in one way or another. The sanitary facilities were clean and tidy with everything provided, even toilet seat covers, there's a small stone building built over a stream that has been converted into a hyper market with most things you may need, just help yourself and leave a note of what you've had. How trustworthy is that?. The site is in a great location with some demanding walks from the site, and only 3 miles from the lake where you will find even more excellent walks to choose from.
The owners Herve & Virginie were excellent hosts and referred us as friends staying in their garden. Herve was the main man on site, but Virginie was 'le capitaine' and ran the show. As my French is non existent Herve frequently reminded me of this by saying 'I feel sorry for you'. This site is the one to aim for if your going to this part of France and believe me you won't be disappointed. Oh and one last thing get some Chips there the best you'll ever have.
Herve. Juste au cas où vous ne comprenez pas mon anglais, ce queue j'ai dit, c'est queue nous avons aimé votre site et je vais y retourner un jour.
Revoir pour le moment et
Joyeux Noël / joyeux anniversaire

Our first visit to the Pyrenees and could not have chosen a better site. Although we were in a static I checked out the shower block and it was very good. The site is very well kept and the location is stunning. Very friendly owners and although they don't advertise it on their website they do very good food at very reasonable prices (Coq au Vin and frites at €6. 50 either eat in or takeaway). Wine also very reasonable.
Access to the site not easy but if you are towing, follow the lorry route to the site.
Lac d'Estaing is lovely and has a nice café/restaurant there.
Thoroughly recommend this site. Only marked facilities less than 10 because no swimming pool. Everything else top class.

Wow, if first impressions are all important, then this site surpassed all my expectations. The owners are so helpful and friendly we were instantly at ease and made extremely welcome.
Shower and toilet block exceptional and spotlessly clean at ALL times. Pitches are all of a good size and very well maintained, indeed the site is a pleasure to see, it is better than most peoples gardens. Meals are of very good value 'home cooking' at its best.
We cannot wait to return to enjoy the hospitality of the owners and enjoy the fantastic surroundings.
