It was lovely arriving at this lush green site after a very dusty med one. The views from the pitches of the mountains are really spectacular and we spent much time simply admiring the view and watching the vultures etc overhead. Apparently an eagle flies over the site most days but if we saw it, we didn't realise!Although very child friendly, this was also an ideal site for couples.
This is one of the best sites we have stayed at from the welcome we received, the information available (including a slide show from the owner of various walks etc) to the facilities.
The loos etc were all kept very clean with soap dispensers in the loo area and little stools for putting things on outside the showers. The owners do not want campers to use clothes lines but supply clothes driers. Freezer for using to freeze ice blocks. There is no swimming pool which didn't worry us but may be an issue for some.
Bread and croissants ordered the night before and baked on the premises. We did not try the take away food although the menu looked really good with local dishes, stews, lasagne etc. The bar was very pleasant with a giant chess set and draughts to amuse kids plus table tennis.
The chickens wandering around the campsite also kept many a child entertained. The honesty shop (really cute in an old water mill) keeps a good range of products including fruit, vege, cheese, butter, wine, beer and tinned goods - handy because you are 15 mins drive from a shop.
We attempted a couple of the walks suggested and found the area stunning with its mountains, waterfalls and rivers. We are great seaside holiday makers and this was such a lovely change. The peace and quiet were really welcome too after the noise we experienced at our last campsite.
Overall, a very beautiful and well tended campsite that I cannot recommend highly enough.

We are returning again this year to this gem of a campsite. On our first visit four years ago, as we turned into the site after a long drive our breath was taken away by the splendour of the surroundings and the ambience of the site. The welcome from the hosts was exceptionally warm and friendly, their first words being “please join us for a drink”.
The site itself is set in a valley surrounded by mountains and green pastures. The pitches are of a good size, some with shade but all with magnificent views and plenty of room for caravan, awning, table and chairs where you can sit and relax. Binoculars being a must so you can watch the birds of prey and vultures circling overhead or alternatively you can make use of the site’s spotting scopes. If you are very lucky, as we were last year, you may see the birds settle in a tree close by!
The WC/shower and laundry/washing up facilities are spotless and modern. The shop on the site is a converted watermill stocking the essential foodstuff and wine, where you help yourself and then pay at the reception/bar. Bread/croissants and pastries are ordered the day before and baked on the premises so are always fresh and very tasty. There is a takeaway evening meal service available from the bar.
The site is ideally suited for those who enjoy walking, seeing outstanding scenery and the wide variety of flora and fauna. The site organises many activities including walks, rafting and for the more adventurous can recommend paragliding nearby.
Argeles-Gazost is the nearest town – about 20 minutes drive, where you will find plenty of local shops plus two supermarkets and a variety of bars and restaurants. It also has a weekly market, which is well worth a visit but get there early. Further afield are many pretty towns and villages including Lourdes.
If you wish for car free days there are several walks from the site including to Lac d’Estaing where horses and cattle roam freely. On your walks you will almost certainly hear the calls of marmots, but spotting them is less easy.
If you wish for an extremely comfortable and relaxing atmosphere in outstandingly beautiful surroundings, then you will love this site.

We spent a week at Camping Pyrenees Natura and had a very nice time. When we arrived mid afternoon you could hardly see your hand in front of your face. The cloud was right down on top of the site and as soon as you got out of the car you felt cold and damp as the mist folded round you. We did not feel too optimistic at this point but we set up our trailer tent and had a very nice home cooked meal which you can buy to take away from the bar (there is no restaurant). We went to bed feeling a bit depressed but when we woke the next morning the sun was shining, the sky was clear and it was lovely and warm. It stayed like this for our whole week, only clouding over again as we packed up to come home. The pitches are randomly spread over the small site and are not hedged so you can spread out a bit but some pitches are quite far from the hookup point so a long lead may be required. The electric was also reverse polarity so take a lead to correct this.
The toilet block is immaculate and there is a sauna, solarium and relaxation room which you can reserve for you and your family in one hour increments. There is a small charge for using the sauna at peak times of the day but outside these times it is free to book it.
The shop on site is unbelievably quaint. It is housed in an old watermill and the river still runs under the stone slab floor. The shop is open all day and you help yourself to whatever you need and pay at reception or in the bar. You need to order your bread a day in advance at reception and then collect it the next morning from the bar. The nearest big town is Argeles Gazost and it is about 20 minutes drive away but it has all the shops you would need, including a large supermarket.
There is so much to do around this campsite. The site itself arranges rafting days, mountain walks, watercolour painting days, pony treks and lots more and the whole area is outstandingly beautiful. The only thing I hated about the area is the big blood sucking flies that come out for a couple of hours in the middle of the day. These look like your standard housefly so I didn’t pay much attention to them at first until I noticed the blood oozing out of several places on my leg and noticed the flies with their sucker piercing my skin. They only seem to come out between about 12 and 2 but it meant that we could not sit out at this time and that also explained why the site is empty of people at this time. Everyone leaves the site before they appear and don’t return until later in the afternoon.
If I was planning to return to this area of France, I would have no hesitation in staying at this site again, it really is beautiful and in an area of outstanding scenery.

A smallish, quiet, friendly site in stunning surroundings. The site is very well organised and the facilities are all clean and modern. Loos are in two modern blocks with wash cubicles, free showers, hot utensil washing, washing machines and dryers etc. Pitches are well sized, some with a small amount of shade, electric hookup is available on all pitches. We saw two pitches which flooded after 36 hours of torrential rain but the site owners were out with pumps and squeegees to clear the water. There is a 'help yourself' shop on-site stocking basics; you are trusted to go to reception to pay, that sums up the ambience. Bread can be ordered and takeaway food is available in the evening. A free sauna can be booked for an hour. Free UV and IR sunbeds on timers are available.
The site organise day and night walks, horse trekking etc each week and have bird watching scopes available to use. Weird mop headed chickens roam the site with eagles and vultures flying overhead.
The site is on the edge of the National park and close to many impressive mountain or valley walks. Lourdes is 1/2 an hours drive and well worth a visit. We didn't find a supermarket other than at Lourdes. No large towns very close.
We arrived without a booking but they managed to fit us in as they keep some pitches free for 'passing trade'. Plastic money is accepted.
Overall, one of the best sites we've visited.
