Great site with helpful staff.
Facilities basis but clean, showers were free of charge with lots of hotwater.
I stayed on my bike with a tent at a cost of £6. 00 per night thought that was good value for money.
The site is right by the river and this is not fenced off so it could be dangerous for children.
There is a small shop on site with the essentials and close by about 300 metres there is a pub which has good food and beer.
Overall would recommend this site an enjoyable stay.

We stayed as a group of two caravans and a tent over the jubilee weekend.
The site is excellent if you love canoeing as you can walk down to the river and away you go. This is something I tried with my brother-in-law who is an instructor and I loved the convenience of it! There were a few canoeists there using the site as a stop over.
Having a pitch by the river is lovely, but the view of the houses opposite isn't particularly inspiring.
There are a few dog walks in the area, you can leave the site and go over the bridge and take up a footpath which takes you through the fields opposite the site.
I didn't use the toilets or showers so I can't comment on them.
One negative is the location of the water and waste disposal. They are both up a steep slope which leads to the toilets. The water tap is right outside the gents loo/shower block and the chemical disposal is just behind it. I noticed as I was filling my drinking water that when someone was emptying their chemical disposal unit, the liquid would run down the slope past the water area. Also full water barrels down that slope have a habit of running away with you!
I think the water tap should be moved to a flatter location if possible.
I was also a bit miffed when I visited the loo block and didn't realise it was about to be cleaned and when I asked if I could quickly use the loo, I had a very abrupt 'oh be quick!' thrown at me. I know it must be annoying but I genuinely didn't realise.
Overall this site would be most suitable for those who like to mess about on the river.

Very clean and tidy site price per night £15 is ok. But its not a site for young children the river is not fenced off and is a accident waiting to happen. Owner should make the site adult only.
The facilities are nice and clean nice hot showers the pitches are level near to the river but the others you will need your levelling gear
During the wet weather the field was very boggy and we tended to get bogged down. The grass was left rather long before it's cut and when it was cut, the grass was left on the ground, so we ended up with grass cuttings everywhere

We owe a big thanks to the owners father (who previously owned the site) - we went for the bus into Shrewsbury, but were advised by passing motorists there had been a bad accident on the A5 and the bus was caught up and would be very delayed - went back to the site to ask for taxi number, and were promptly given a lift into town! Wonderfully kind - and epitomises this pleasant little site.
Very clean, if limited facilities. Owners spend a fair bit of time actually on the site, so it's very well looked after. Bus doesn't run very late - we got off at the Four Crosses for a meal and walked back.
Wingfield Arms much closer but doesn't do food Sunday evening or Monday. Were quite impressed by the Four Crosses though - they didn't charge for drinks because there was a delay with our food - frankly, I've waited longer without so much as an apology, so well impressed!
Would definitely return to this pleasant spot.

We visited this site with friends for their first time camping. The site itself was very good and we found it to be very relaxing, the young couple that ran the site was smashing and they did credit by keeping all the site clean.
We stayed for 2 nights and as they let caravans and tents mingle it was ideal.
The toilet and showers where clean, although only 2 male and 2 female toilets we never had to wait and the site was full.
There are quite a few who leave their vans on site and security was fine.
The only problem for small children the river is un-fenced.
The weekend was a great success and would use again.

Smashing little site, tucked away with close access to the A5 and Shrewsbury.
Lovely and quiet, a very warm welcome from the hard working owners, facilities basic but perfectly adequate - loos immaculate (checked several times a day I noticed).
Possibly not the best place to bring very young children due to the proximity of the river - ie runs along the full length of the site and no fencing.
No problem there for us though - my husband caught chubb and barbel from the river bank, which is steep but accessible if you are fairly nimble. I just sat in my chair soaking up the sun admiring the view out over the Shropshire countryside and watching the swans float past. Great value for money.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this site to others.

Cannot praise this site enough. Owners very friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Toilet and shower block very clean, new showers installed this year lovely and warm. Site always clean and tidy. Quiet and relaxing by the river where fishing is permitted. Nice pub across the road where they do good food reasonably priced. Good bus service into Shrewsbury. Not much for children to do on site, but owners are still finding their feet, maybe in the future? families with children may find lack of fencing along river a little worrying

I do not agree that this camp-site should be an adult only site. The way the site is set out it is easy to keep an eye out on your children and even if this site is not for you, because you may have a youngster or two with an inclination to wander, older children who have an awareness of water safety would be perfectly OK. We have two children and two dogs and the site worked well for us, so much so we are returning during the school summer holidays. Its a little off the beaten track, is basic but is very pretty and just a nice place to be, you just need to have an awareness of and be vigilant towards the river as it is open (part of the sites attraction. )

We stayed for the late bank holiday weekend. As mentioned in other reviews it is a small site, immaculately kept by very friendly owners.
There is only one shower for each sex, but I never had to wait; water was nice and warm, and there was no charge for the showers. There is a small wooded area for exercising dogs, and very limited access to the river.
We crossed over to the other side of the road to the Wingfield Arms; we were unable to book a meal at the pub but went a couple of miles up the road to the Four Crosses and had a really excellent meal there.
Shrewsbury is very nice for shopping and general wandering around.
To sum up: a nice quiet site with very helpful owners. I would go back readily and recommend it to anyone looking for a site in the area.

Stayed at this site for two nights as we were visiting the Midland Game fair cannot fault the site owners made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
facilities were very clean and plenty of hot water, two dog walks on site one by the river and one in a field. We had a pitch on the river bank which was very pleasant.
Lots of things to do nearby and lovely woodland walks and a nature reserve, lovely villages nearby.
Very quite site although there were quite a few caravans would stay again.
