Our tent overlooked the river severn where my husband fished. The toilet block is all you need, 2 toilets, 1 shower room with a disabled shower room should it be required. There are washing up facilities, also a fridge you can use, and also an electric socket.
The couple that run the site are very friendly and on the go all the time keeping the site spick and span. Over the bridge there is a pub called the wingfield arms, right next to the river. Nearby there is a cobbled kind of beach area where you can relax and watch the river flowing by, and see all the little tiny fish bathe in the sun.
There is a small shop just about 200 yds from the site which has your regular groceries. All in all we had a lovely time there. Well recommended.

The facilities are very clean and this was bank holiday weekend with the site almost bursting to capacity,.The showers hot and free.Owners very friendly.
Site is mostly level, but does slope up away from the river. We were pitched on the very edge of the river.Pegs easy to get in and very firm hold in the clay. Site is sheltered from prevailing wind.Fishing just 3 metres from tent!Beware, the banks are very steep. The views across rhe river are nice, and pretty walks along the banks.Saw a red kite, perigrine falcon, little owl and barn owl.
Pub is just 2 minutes walk. The pub has a large site as well, but it is close to A50 and traffic noise there must be a problem whereas we were far enough away from the road so it was o.K.Pub friendly with good food, and also a v.Good live band on Sunday night.Village shop is 3 minutes walk and is well stocked(giving away free plums)
Lots to do in surrounding area. Bus stop in village takes you into Shrewsbury.
This site is lovely and we have no hesitation in recommending it.We will definitely return.

A small but very welcoming site right next to the River Severn in an ideal location to explore Shrewsbury and the surrounding area.
In a quiet location set further away from the A5 than the site associated with the local pub. The owner was helpful in pointing us to various pitches and offering us a choice – we pitched our tent in what appeared to be an orchard.
Not all the pitches on the site appeared to be particularly level, a must for a tent, and the grass was a bit long. However, this added to the visual appeal of the site as it was left very rural in appearance, with the edges of the site left wild.
The facilities were basic and limited but were clean and included washing up facilities and a fridge with small freezer - which was ideal as we are campers, although the freezer did get very full of freezer blocks.
The local pub (The Wingfield Arms) is excellent with a good drink and food and reasonably priced menu. Well worth the very short walk / stagger back. The pub also had a shop, although we didn’t use it as were only staying a couple of nights.

We've just spent a lovely few days here. It was brilliant sunshine from the moment we arrived. Severn House itself is very pretty. The owners were extremely helpful.
We were on one of the riverside pitches and enjoyed the view. The washing up facilities were fine. We were impressed with the solar panels and recycling facilities. I would have preferred more shower cubicles- but the wash room was always very clean and smelt fresh.
We spent a great day in Shrewsbury- well worth a visit

This was a nice quiet little riverside site. The owner's friend was very helpful and directed us to a nice level spot where we wouldn't get stuck (it had been a very wet weekend!). When it finally stopped raining, I took a nice short walk across the bridge where the village pub sits, on the site side of the village there is a shop but it was closed when we were there.
Back at site the facilities were basic but clean and the showers hot and free (yippee!) although the room was a tad dark (the automatic light hadn't kicked in) and I had to shower with the cubicle door open; the lady who walked in half way through my ablutions was very understanding and didn't run away screaming. The washing up area was fine as was the chemical disposal area - all nice and clean.
I would have no objections to camping here again. In good weather it would be really pleasant.

We thought that this would be a lovely site. Even though we had booked in advance they had no record of our booking. The site was not at all attractive. I took one look at the showers and thought no way. Out side the shower cubicle there was a rubber door mat to stand on?? We were on a slope and found it difficult to level the van.

First the bad bits or what may be perceived as bad.
The driveway for entry is fine but coming out with a big caravan can be a little difficult as the entrance out onto the road can be a little tough on the clutch if your not careful. We havent had a problem but the inexperienced driver may find his clutch wear increased !
Apart from this
What a lovely little site. The showers are basic but by god they are hot. The toilets are clean and well looked after. Dont be disturbed by the cobwebs ! they capture the bugs which is better than eating on you !
The toilets and showers are enough for a disabled person to use as we can testify.
The pitches by the river are brillant with electric hook up. The view across the river severn is excellent and the fishing is really good. The pitches by the river are level and clean.
The site is not far from either shrewsbury or welshpool and is certainly worth the visit for weekend trips. We have been back already and will continue to do so !
We would recommend this site to friends and family for gatherings and certainly for a chilled out time.
Liz the lady who owns is always around for a chat and always looks busy ! she is very friendly.
Were going back ! its worth it.

I spent 4 nights here a nice friendly site with good clean washing facilities. It was a little squelchy underfoot in places. Due to the amount of rain we had. But with a shop and Pub very close by it is in a excellent spot. There are plenty of attractions close by for days out. We had a fair bit of rain as I arrived and it was a little worrying to see the Severn rise 2 metres in one day. Please give the river a lot of respect as you would not want to fall in. The fishermen seemed to be having a good time with Barbel & Chub. I will return and take some fishing tackle this time. The only negative comment I can make is I could hear the traffic on the A5 at times (wind direction) I hope the weather is kind to the owners for the rest of the year.

Went here when all the very wet weather hit. Lovley site people so friendly and helpful even though the owners wife was not too well. The weather was very wet but I can see how nice the site would be in sun with the river so close (on our visit a little too close!)

My wife and I have just spent an enjoyable, but very wet, weekend here. Severn House is a quiet little site on the banks of the River Severn and I cannot recommend it enough. It is set in a lovely area. The facilities are small but the showers are warm and free, and the toilet blocks are clean. The only things I can criticise are that the grass was a little long and the ladies toilets and shower is only accessible through the washing up area, resulting in my wife embarrassing a man who was washing his dishes when she came out of there in her pyjamas and coat! However, they are extending the area so that might not be a problem for too long. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we will be back, but hopefully with better weather!
