Stayed for 3 nights on the way home to break up the journey.
Clean and well managed site, good sanitary block, - own toilet paper needed as non provided.
A very quick turnover site with most staying just one night, the site appears to be empty from about 11am, then starts to fill up again with mostly Brits.
A 10 minute walk to the village sncf station, then a 15 minute train ride into Reims (18 euros for 2 adults return).
Boulangerie, tabac, bar, bank, carrefore and petrol station in the village. Pizzas and take away food/drink from reception.
Good pool, covered if weather is bad, pulled back for good weather. Enclosed children's trampoline and also a play area for children.
Pitches are differing in size and owners invite you to choose your own pitch - get there before 5pm for the best pitches.
Lovely walk by the river, combination lock to get onto the river bank, which has a wide grass path along.

We stayed at this site as a stopover on our way back home. We stayed here last year for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. This year, the owners have built a new sanitary block, swimming pool and are currently building a sauna and massage area. The villiage of Guigincourt is quiet and typically French. It has a small Carrefour supermarket, with fuel and a rail station, with services into Reims (about 40 mins) The owners are friendly and helpful and you will receive a nice welcome. The pitches are large and level and we normally find one near the river, for the dog. The site is fenced and there is a code for the security gate, so you can walk along the river. Plenty of UK tourists, with a smattering of German and Dutch. It is a nice, friendly site, with nice views of the village and riverside. There is a take away service for frites and pizza and the owners will also do steak or chicken if you wish. They have a poolside bar with quality garden furniture so you can relax. There is a playground for the children and plenty of open space. I was not aware of any crime problems and I certainly did not feel unsafe. This is a lovely site and the owners work really hard so you can enjoy your holiday. I will definitely use it again.

This site was a very convenient stop over on our way Germany. It was quick and easy to find straight off the motorway.
It was located in a very quite village but it did have a nice cycle route from the campsite.
The facilities were very good, brand new and clean although you need to take your own loo roll. Our children (aged 9 and 7) enjoyed the pool.
The site was nice and quiet and we could chose our own pitch on arrival.
We would definitely use it again.

Well we have just left and this is a wonderful site well run by the owners. They are really working hard and have built new toilet block. They are friendly, extremely helpful and I would give this site 10 out of 10 except for the following.
We planned to stay for five nights. The night we arrived we had our clothes stolen out of our car. Lucky only clothes cos other campers had jewellery, cash, cameras, phones pinched. Gendarmes involved and owners could not have been more attentive. Then to cap it all thieves hit again last night (4th night) and broke into two caravans whilst their owners slept.
This made us all feel very vulnerable and I could not be more concerned for the owners cos we certainly won't be back for this reason

Visited this site at the very end of August. We found it a very convenient stopover and it looked as if others were staying longer. We arrived mid afternoon and there were plenty of spaces. We stopped by the river which offered a short walk along its bank. The village was quiet but unremarkable. The people who ran the site were very friendly. Toilets and showers were clean (no toilet paper but that's France). Bread orders were 'sur commande' so we were able to take a fresh baguette with us the next morning. There is also a pleasant eating area and a small covered pool. We would definitely return.

We stayed here on our way South and it is perfect for this purpose, being just 10 minutes off of the motorway. However, it would also be a lovely place to stay for longer. As others have said, don't be put off by its 'ex-municipal' status. It is a lovely campsite with an excellent (and warm) partly covered pool.
The pitches are big and the toilet block was always clean. My children were intrigued by the traditional 'hole in the floor' toilets, but there were other modern toilets also and I understand a rebuild of whole sanitary block is planned over the winter. We didn't use the restaurant, but it looked like typical takeaway fare, with a bread ordering service too. No actual shop, but these were in easy reach if needed.
We did not do any sightseeing locally this time, but would definitely plan this in to a future trip. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and spoke excellent English.
Would not hesitate to stay here again.

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this site. We travelled with our 5 year old daughter and had intended to go further south, but having arrived we decided to stay longer. We would rate this as one of the best sites where we have stayed in France.
It does have a certain amount of transit traffic due to its location, but this certainly does not detract from the site. In fact, it was quite a conversation piece watching the new arrivals every night and we were never disturbed by early departures.
The site has a new covered pool, which was always very clean and warm! There was a new trampoline which was well used by our daughter, but the children’s play area was a bit tame for those over 5 1/4!
The family running the site made us very welcome. They all worked so hard to make this venture a success and we can only praise the work and efforts they are making.
We had originally looked for a larger site with more on site children’s activities, but the site met all our needs without being a camping metropolis.
There is no shop on site, but bread can be ordered from reception. However, there is a supermarket and a boulangerie within a very short walk.
The owners have plans to rebuild the toilet block over the winter, but the current block was always clean and is still better than many we have experienced in France.
This is an area of France we have often driven though heading south, but we found lots to see and do: Laon, Reims (via the train from the town), Chemin des Dames and the Dragons Cave, and a visit to the Château de Pierrefonds is a must. We would highly recommend Lac de Monampteuil for a family day, great beach, swimming and acres children’s play areas all for 4 euros per adult, children under 5 free, for the day.

A really lovely site in a cracking location.
The facilities good and clean. The bar / restaurant very reasonably priced take out and food very good
We stayed for 12 nights and used it as a base for touring the Champagne region, went to Reimes, Epernay, toured the Moet & Mumm Champagne cellars, went to Laon for the day and had a day driving around the vineyards.
This is a really well run and very relaxed calm and quiet site in an excellent location by the river with access to the river and a supermarket in the town.
The owners were very friendly and went out of there way to be helpful.
Would recommend to anyone families or couples

Returned recently from this campsite after a wonderful 7 day stay.
We had booked our pitch as we were staying for more then 1 night. It was not necessary as the site had plenty of spare pitches and we were told to go and find a pitch we liked! Great. Had the choice of several by the river.
Caroline and Didier (owners) are very friendly and both of them speak very good English which was a good thing as my French is dire!
The campsite is situated on the banks of the river Aisne at Guignicourt. Pitches are generally flat with wonderful views of the river.
We had a pitch right near the river and sat and watched the sun set over the trees casting a wonderful orange glow over the river.
The site is an ex municipal and is undergoing renovations. The swimming pool is complete and while not huge is more then adequate. The cover can be opened up when the weather is good so you can still catch some rays while taking a cooling dip.
A children's play area outside the bar and restaurant is under construction and will be lovely when it is complete. We were never disturbed by any noise the whole time we were there.
Pitches by the river are marked with small shrubs. As this area is new the shrubs are still very small but it does clearly mark your space which is more than adequate for most setups.
We didn't use the restaurant or bar but reports say it was reasonably priced.
Guignicourt is a delightful little town with an amazing Carrefour! I say amazing as I have never seen a large supermarket in such a small town in UK. Prices were great with just about everything you could want or need.
Beautiful town square with a lovely church across the road from the characterful town hall. Walks along the river bank are very well maintained and the grass is kept short. The locals walk along this river most evenings as it is so beautiful. Plenty for the twitchers to see. We spotted Heron, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Blue, Great, coal and Long Tailed birds of the usual variety, Chaffinch and many of the more common birds - the highlight for us was spotting a Kingfisher! I say spotted. Caught a flash of blue as it darted past us.
Plenty of fishing as well. We did not indulge but several other campsite users could be seen making their way to the banks of the river for a relaxing couple of hours.
Well located for touring the area. Guignicourt has a train station where you can buy tickets from both manned and machine booths. The ticket machine is in English as well.
Travelled to Reims, Laon and Paris so easy to get to where you want to go.
Would I recommend this campsite? I most definitely would. If you are passing then just don't stay for one night. Have 2 or more and take a look around the region. Laon has a medieval town on the top of a hill with an amazing cathedral. The boast is that both Notra Dames in Reims and Paris were modeled on it!
Thank you Caroline and Didier for a great stay.

A gorgeous well maintained friendly site. We arrived planning to stay for a few days but have extended our stay for over a week.
The owners are so nice nothing is a problem, their English is great which is good as my french is limited. A trip into Reims is a must but beware as we parked in the street and had our wing mirror on our new car stolen (bizarre I know)!
However a beautiful place to see regardless. The site has a great place to eat with a small simple but effective menu reasonably priced. The pool is gorgeous and ideal for those travelling with children.
The toilets and showers are immaculate but there is no laundry facility which is the only down side to this site.
Overall a very secure, clean, gorgeous site which we would recommend in an instant.
Welcoming lovely owners. Pets are welcomed with open arms also.
