This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certified Site. We visited this site as we liked the idea of being close to a pub and thought we would try a smaller site. We were not disappointed.
The Green Man is one of a number of pubs in the village of Long Itchington. I think there are approximately another 5, some of which do food. You will receive a warm welcome from the management and locals alike.
The site is situated directly to the rear of the pub and is all grass and mostly even. There were 2 other caravans the weekend we stayed and at least 4 tents. Mostly were families like ourselves.
There is no official play area and space could be limited on a busy weekend to play. We were fortunate that there was room in the middle of the field for games to take place, but you should bear this in mind.
The pub allows you access to the facilities from 7am to 12 midnight I think, so it makes it accessible for tent campers, which is good. There are no electric hook-ups, but we took our generator and just used to keep the battery topped up nicely.
The pub has a number of chickens, which are let out during the day. You will find they are quite tame at times and come for a nosey around the site, which the children found fascinating.
The site permits dogs and you will find Long Itchington has plenty of places to walk your dog and/or to walk and take in your surroundings generally.
There is a fish and chip van that comes to the pub on a Friday night around 7.30pm and 8.00pm. Can recommend. Very good indeed. There was a big queue! The pub allows you to eat them on the tables outside the pub and even provided knives and forks.
The site is sometimes booked for smaller rallies and festivals, so do check in plenty of time of your intended break, but the owners will do their best to accommodate you.
If you fancy a trip out during your stay, you are not far from Warwick, Leamington Spa or Kenilworth. All of which have good places of interest.
We are going back later this summer and look forward to it. For a small, self-contained area to camp, we feel it ticks the boxes.

We got a last minute booking here and found out that the beer festival was on!
Well it was a great time.
Pitch by the river and good company.
You need to be self sufficient (ie no hookups and basic toilet when pub open) but the price is right and the pub is great for real ale lovers. They don't do food but other pub's in a short walk do (the Harvester for a steak is outstanding)
The chip van calls in on friday nights too.
You will be given a great welcome here and we were sad to leave.

Great site, we were so pleased to find this for a 1-night stop. Can't beat being behind a pub! especially with chickens running around.
Great camping area, no facilities once pub shuts as already mentioned but in the 'UKs capital of real ale' who cares? There are 5 other pubs in the village!
Pub good, food not served so we used the Harvester, excellent steak :-) and a real welcome, we had a great night, despite the rain. Good supermarket up the road, we would like to return for the village beer festival!

We have just returned from a family weekend camping at The Green Man. Even before we arrived Mark and Sharon were friendly and helpful, and on arrival we were invited to choose where to pitch and shown around.
We pitched on a level area of the field, well sheltered and not at all close to other campers, despite the site being 'full'. We were lucky enough to be there in time for the famed Friday night fish and chips (delicious!) and a drink in the pub garden. Both our dog and baby presented no problems and were welcomed by staff and locals. There was some noise at closing time, but nothing excessive, and to be expected if you stay at a pub!
Although there are no showers, the pub toilets are open from 07.30-midnight and are basic but clean, and accessed easily from the field (you don't have to walk through the pub in your pyjamas!). We did no washing up as we were visiting friends - so not sure what facilities are available, but there is a cold tap accessible at all times. The chickens kept by the pub range freely by the tents, much enjoyed by young children camping! The cockerel was up quite early which may have disturbed us if the baby hadn't already!
Long Itchington is a lovely, quiet village with a well-stocked Co-op (open v early), nice walks and several other pubs. There is a pram accessible circular canal walk from The Green Man which Sharon gave us good directions to.
Overall, a good basic site with a friendly welcome at a very reasonable (£7/night) price.

A group of us stayed here for one night - it was a great basic site. The lack of showers mean I don't think I'd want to stay here for more than 1 night, but the camping field was well kept, the pub itself was lovely and the landlord and lady were friendly and hospitable.
The cockerel started crowing at half 7 - not as bad as we expected! - and the site itself is very quiet. Only a short car ride to Stratford Upon Avon & Warwick too. Would definitely stay again, if I wanted a fun and cheap camping weekend away.

What a super little campsite this is Mark &Sharon
Go out of their way to make you welcome. Nice flat field, no electric but hey who needs it and only £7 per night. We went for the weekend and stayed two weeks instead.
Shop just up the road, Lemington Spa 8 miles down the road with all major supermarkets
And don't miss the fish & chip van Friday night where the landlord comes round with free bread, forks etc

We stayed one night at The Green Man as a stopover point on our way to Colchester. We arrived too late for the legendery fish and chip van unfortunately, however we enjoyed our stay. The site is in a lovely location behind a very nice friendly pub. There are clean toilets and washing facilities. Would definitely recommend it and will probably call again.

I went to this campsite on the Friday evening. I had searched this website for a local near the castle. I called and had the sites amenities explained and although no shower, as I was only with my two young boys 5&7 years, this was not an issue, the wife has said that she would not visit.
The hospitality was great. My boys loved it, they spent their energy running through the coppice. They loved the chickens and I did not hear the cockerel in the morning. Oh and the pub serves some damn fine ale.
The toilets were available in the pub and were opened on request early Sunday morning. A co-op is just up the road for all your needs
Both my boys want to go back, they helped egg collecting and feeding chuck's. For a fun basic camp site you can't do better, I will be back, maybe during their beer festival.

The Green Man beautifully combines our two favourite hobbies - camping and pubbing, so we were really chuffed to have found a place that can satisfy both in equal measure.
We spent one night here, testing out our new tent. Thankfully, we had a considerable amount of help from some lovely fellow campers / caravanner's as we struggled to put the new tent up. Brian and Doreen, Dave and not forgetting Pip the Westy were the kind of neighbours you hope and pray for and made our stay great fun.
The village is a revelation with 6 fine pubs and a hugely friendly buzz. I am sure it will become a haven for us to escape to from Brum.
The landlord Mark and his wife Sharon were exceptionally friendly and helpful and take the business of their guests comfort and enjoyment very seriously. We can't wait to return!
