We stayed at the Green man for 3 nights. We found the owners to be very helpful allowing us to use the freezer when required. They had a laid back approach and the price was very good value.
The site was nice and quiet, only two others staying there the entire time.
Situated within a lovely village with a handy shop just up the road.
We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant break.

We found this site by accident, our usual site had a big rally on and we hadn't booked so driving around with the light fading and a hungry 5 year old in the car we found the Green Man after being directed from other pubs in the area. Mark was really welcoming, and a saviour when one of our poles split as we put the tent up, he gave us some parcel tape so we could strap a tent peg in place to splint the pole.
Previous reviewers have described the site and facilities perfectly. You can use the pub loos until the pub locks up and from about 7.30 in the morning. There are tables and benches dotted around the field which you can move to where you want. The cockerel will ease you from your slumber about 7.30am when Mark lets them out into their run.
There is no 'play area' for the kids but a big area of grass to run around on was fine for the smaller kids on the site. The bigger ones got on their bikes and went for a ride.
The village pond just up the road is great for the kids to feed the ducks and swans, as well as learning about the mini beasts lurking in the water.

Stayed at this site for 2 nights at the beginning of august and it was brilliant. Even though there were no shower blocks, it didn’t matter.
There were 3 couples who went, and we were not the quietest but did respect the fact there were other families staying close by.
Mark and Sharon, the landlords, were brilliant. Really made us feel at home and at ease and Mark even helped put our tent up as we had not used it before!
There are no showering facilities, only the toilets in the pub, but they open at 7am and close about 12.30am-ish, so there is no need to worry. There is a leisure centre up the road if you wanted a shower.
The pub is brilliant. Cosy country pub with a good friendly atmosphere with a good selection of drinks. We went on a bit of a village pub crawl as there are 6 within walking distance, but within 2 hours were back. The other places are more bars than pubs, perfect for eating, but not chilling having a drink.
I would recommend this site with out doubt and plan to go back in September.
Its in a beautiful village, it’s a brilliant pub and a lovely site. And for only £7 a night - not bad!

What can I say that hasn't already been said other than a quiet, peaceful haven that we will visit again and again. Mark (miff) and his wife Sharon were absolutely superb hosts, they allow dogs in the pub which makes a welcome change so my dog Millie enjoyed her stay. The pub is brilliant, beer good the fish and chip van on a Friday night is amazing and the setting by the river is beautiful. Thanks again People well recommended

As a group of young men (and a couple of wives in tow) we found it difficult to find a campsite that would even consider us, proving that ageism in the camping world is still as rife as it was when I backpacked in the 90's. We must have been bounced around at least six sites before we happened upon the site at The Green Man in Long Itchington, and we are mighty glad that we did.
Landlord Mark was most accommodating, allowing us the flexibility we needed, with a couple of pitches booked well in advance, and another added last minute. We arrived separately, but were greeted warmly, and the hospitality carried on throughout the weekend.
The site itself is little more than a large area of grass, mostly even, sloping off towards a stream at the far end of the site. The area is behind the public house, with parking space on and off of the site if the weather was muddy this would have been a godsend.
Throughout the weekend we made use of a local leisure centre as the site didn't have shower facilities, but this was a minor inconvenience given the friendly nature of the area.
Highly recommended, we are already planning a return.

We found this site almost by accident. Looking for accomodation close to Gaydon for the Land Rover 60th anniversary celebrations, we came across this site advertised on UKCS. We almost didn't book because it was Bishops Itchington we realised we actually wanted; but after our initial 'phone call with the landlord, Mark, are we glad that we booked and turned up.He has run the pub for the past two years with his wife, Sharon. What a lovely couple! As we had a long journey on a Friday night around the M25 and then M40, Mark offered to buy us fish and chips if we rang ahead and said that we were running late, and keep them warm in the pubs oven until we got there. It just so happened that the village was running its first real ale festival this weekend as well, so all the pubs were much busier than normal.
Had we visited the village beforehand and spotted the CL sign next to the pub we probably would not have considered using it as we pull a 26ft twin axle with a Land Rover (not a good turning circle). It turned out that access onto and from the site really presented no problem at all, with just a little care required on the approach road due to parked cars and oncoming motorists that appeared not to look further than the end of their bonnet.
The field is roughly square and slopes ever so gently down to the river. At the height of the weekend, there were 5 caravans, one trailer tent and 6 assorted family tents, but we were not packed in and nobody felt that they had lost their privacy. When it runs at the normal maximum 5 vans/tents you'll have loads of space. There is a chemical waste point that Mark admits is set a little high up the wall and will arrange for this to be remedied. You are free to use the pubs facilities whilst the pub is open. Bear in mind, that while the facilities are clean and well stocked with liquid soap, paper etc, they are a traditional pubs toilets and are not necessarily the airy extremely modern shower / toilet blocks that you find on commercial sites nowadays. Having said that, they are clean, cleaned regularly and have all you need. Hot/cold water, paper towels, warm air driers etc.
There is a local Co-op store that offers a wide range of goods and a petrol station within about a mile or so of the site that includes a Londis store.
The field is relatively flat, although as said, there is a gentle slope away to the river. We took levelling blocks but didn't need them. There is no electric hook-up. Depending where you set up camp you can receive a certain amount of shelter. The ground is quick draining too, so after a heavy downpour the field is usable a short time afterwards.
If I am not working next May Bank Holiday we will book back into the Green Man for the 2nd real ale festival and to explore some more of Warwickshire. This is the first CL that we have stayed at and due to the friendliness and ambience of the village found the Bank Holiday weekend passed too quickly. If all CL's are like this, with such friendly hosts, we're certainly going to enjoy our new found hobby - caravanning.

A small field (with good ground!) is used for the camping behind the pub, with a river running near by.
After cycling from Leeds it was good to sit in a warm pub and enjoy a drink. And hey, how many people can say they have camped in a pub's back garden!?
A very friendly landlord/lady and a good selection of ales made the stay worthwhile.

The Green Man has a small flat field adjacent to car park. It is a welcoming pub with excellent ales and friendly landlord and landlady. There are only basic facilities at present so come prepared - loos and handbasins only. The Green Man is in walking distance of several other pubs, including three on the nearby canal, and a small shop.
