Overall: very good and we might well go there again.
Good points-
We hired a private bathroom, great for leaving stuff there (I always forget what I need) it's just a cubicle within the sanitary block, but I think it avoided queues.
Spacious layout, and nice pitch shapes, not too regimented.
Loads of people there had gone for dozens of years. The family-run site does look after its customers.
The on-site shop and bike hire are good quality, well-stocked and reasonably priced.
On the other hand-
Honestly, we can't think of any negatives that relate to the site, just our own preferences. For example.
This site, like others nearby, is very sandy, due to the sand dunes! I got a bit fed up of brushing up sand. That sounds whiny, I know, but it's probably the one fact that would put me off going there again (or anywhere nearby).
We felt that we should have paid more and gone right onto the beach somewhere up on the grande cote or the cote sauvage. Le Logis is about 10 mins by car to the nearest beach. Distance to the main resort beaches is 20minutes upwards because the traffic gets very congested.

If you stay at this campsite you will have an excellent, relaxing holiday. We stayed here for 2 weeks (last week of July/first week of August) and had a great time. Its a great campsite for kids to cycle around and with a playground mine (aged 5 and 7) had a wonderful time.
There's a shop on site which sells all the essentials (including fresh bread every morning), a good restaurant and takeaway. The swimming pool is a little on the cool side but you soon warm up.
We had a huge pitch - enough room for our Monty plus extension, two pop up tents, a big car and plenty of room left for playing games etc. We can see why the same people come every year. There was a large amount of Welsh people on this campsite (so word of mouth must be good in Wales)!
We booked one of the campsite's private bathrooms. This cost us over £100 for the two weeks and I probably wouldn't bother again. It was nice to leave our things in our own bathroom but the shower was cold and not very powerful and there wasn't really a sense of privacy.
Lovely area. The nearby beaches were all good and easy to park. We would really recommend the zoo at La Palmyre. Can really get up close to the animals and feed the giraffes, elephants and zebras. Very good!
There was a magic show one evening for the kids and a circus. Although we thought they were very expensive the kids loved them.
One thing we were slightly disappointed about is that we thought we would be able to cycle to the beach from the campsite. There are cycle paths leading from the campsite towards the beach but at the end of the path you have to cycle along a busy road to reach the beach - so not suitable for children (in our opinion). Though once at the beach there are cycle paths along the coast.
All in all a really, really good campsite. You won't be disappointed.

We have been going to this camp site since our children were little, many years in fact, every year there are changes, always for the better.
Facilities are excellent including pool, playground, restaurant, toilet showers etc.
This site has a lovely ambience, has very spacious pitches, even in height of season there is still plenty of room.
It is a very peaceful campsite just a couple of miles from all beaches and amenities of which there are many in the area, including a great zoo in Palmyere.
Fab beeches on the cote sauvage, if you don't mind the trek from the road, its worth it once you climb over the dune a picture of paradise and not crowded at all. Be aware the sea can be rough, so keep eye on the kids. Great for body surfing!
If you have never been to the Royan area, this campsite is perfect for everyone especially if you like to be away from the crowds

Mixed feelings about this site.
Arrival was very pleasant with lots of assistance from the owners who obviously take pride in their site.
Owner took you to the pitch, then spent the time to have little chat.
Pitch layout was unusual for France in that the units were in lines rather than defined hedged spaces, but it worked as you had the gap between the 2 vans in the next row in front of you, rather than the back of another van and you felt as if you had a lot of space as there was plenty space between rows. Only down point about this was that traffic in the row had to pass in front of you when exiting therefore even though there was a lot of space around you, you could not use it.
Site facilities were good, all sited at the entrance which meant a bit of a walk but also meant the pitches were quite.
Food in the restaraunt was good if a little pricey and basic.
Toilet facilities were good and always spotless.
Site is only 5 minutes from the beach but a little hard to cycle unless you've got iron thighs.
If taking the bikes you can cycle a lovely smooth tarred track from St Palais to Ronce les Bains via La Palmyre.
The only thing I could fault the site on was something that was mentioned earlier. Dont expext the French experience. At 53 I felt like a youngster. Most people seemed to be full timers who were making their way north as Spain warmed up. Ive never seen so many Isabella awnings in my life. There was'nt the usual French site buzz at night where you can hear people sitting out in the evening chatting and children playing. Instead all the vans were closed up, blinds down and the sounds of Coronation Street and Midsomer Murders filtering though open windows.Sat TV in France, yugh.
Very Odd, felt like being on a caravan club site at home, but warmer.
The token couple of Dutch and German Vanners must have thought they had taken a wrong turning on the way south. I good mixture of nationalities adds to the atmosphere.
The clichy feeling that someone earlier was problably because these same people went there every year and all knew each other. Saying that they were very friendly.
Would I go back, don't know. Loved the site but its not France.

We stayed here at the beginning of the school holidays for just over 2 weeks and had a fantastic time. Our kids (8,6 & 2) had the time of their lives in the pool, down to the beach and off to the shop every morning for the bread. The only snag was the pool was very cold and although it didn't affect my children at all I only managed to brave it twice. The local beach can be reached by bike and we did this a couple of times - we hired one of the bikes from the site, they also hire the children trailers. Once at the beach there is a long cycle track flat, tarmac and easy riding !, from here you can reach numerous other beaches.
The pitches are roomy and the facilities were good. Our car broke down and we had to stay an extra few days and the owers were great, they managed to accommodate us throughout out extended stay and offered to move us every time and helped with talking to the tow truck man when he arrived.
We were a distance from the shop and the pool but this was fine for us. There is a small shop on site and there is another across the road in a small complex both of which were very useful. We got take away food from the restaurant once which was lovely, very tasty - not the cheapest option but great for a treat. The children loved the play area and disappeared there when we weren't at the beach or in the pool.
There are plenty of brochures in reception and there is also Tourist Information in the village. Surrounding the site are many places to visit - beaches, historical and towns and not forgetting the markets and fetes that are on at that time of year.
This is a large site with a mix of tents, caravans and statics and it all works really well. My husband spent many an evening walking around the site with our son in the buggy sending him off to sleep and also taking the rubbish and recycling to the bin as this was at the front of the site and was a bit of a walk.
There is a real mix of nationalities and there are a lot of people that return year after year they love it so much. We were really impressed with the site and are about to book for summer 2010 - if they have space!

Visited Le Logis last summer (2008. Nice site, well equipped. Lots of space in the middle. Somewhat less space pitch-wise. It is however quite cliquey. This may have been due to our location being somewhere in the middle of a group of Brits who had obviously been coming for years. We even helped them erect their new tent and still we were not included!
Where possible when booking, unless you have been before, try for a pitch on the outside of the site. The shop, bar, reception and pool areas are a fair trek across the site. There is bicycle hire - not cheap. There is a WiFi facility at a price.
There was a teenage element who practised the age old, 'towel on the chair round the pool' technique and who could be quite intimidating.(Personal view)
There is a small parade of shops at the end of the drive, which includes a small restaurant and a Spar. Oh also there is a dog groomer.
We did not use the on site restaurant, but we did order from the Take away - frites etc.
This site without doubt is the nicest in the area. It would suit families and those who quite lke regimentation (you park between that tree and that one and cars pass both front and back. The sanitary facilities are large and comparatively clean the bathing and toilet facilities are unisex.
The area is quite lovely, varying from wooded to agricultural land with beaches and coves and delightful shops and markets.

Very nice site, plenty of room to pitch. Lots of space in the middle of the site for playing games plus a young children's playground & a couple of concrete table tennis tables (bring your won bats & balls). There is also an enclosed basketball court although this was hogged by teenagers most of the day and evening when we were there.
Well stocked shop selling wide variety of tinned food & drinks as well as some fresh & refrigerated food. Good range of baguettes, croissants & pain au chocolates of a morning at reasonable prices.
Swimming pool is tucked away in one corner of the site & receives a lot of sun but very little shade. Nice variety within pool area - not just an oblong pool.
Showers very good although a little on the cool side, nice & clean as was the washing up facilities (again water not quite hot enough for some of the greasy items).
Nice area just away from St.Palais which does get very busy in August. Lots of nice beaches within easy reach as well as some picturesque villages which are worth a visit.

We loved this site. The site owners were really helpful and although we were already allocated a pitch they asked where we would like to be. The pitch we chose was ideal just beside kids playground. The pitches are very large and we chose a semi shaded pitch. The site is very big and everything you could need. Swimming pools, playground, shop, games room, tennis court, basketball/football court (fenced off and not next to tents), reception, takeaway and restaurant. There is plenty of toilet/shower blocks dotted around the site. The site is on the edge of a huge forest. There is a very large area for playing. Beside's this and the pool you have cow's grazing with just a single wire keeping them out. Kids thought this was funny.
The site shop is run by the owner of the Spar opposite the site but being end of season they started reducing stock/opening hours on site. This did not bother me as facing the site is a Spar, Newagent and Pizza restaurant. Approx 4 or 5 miles away is a large supermarket and just past there is a town (forgot name!). The town was very nice with gift shop restaurants etc and a really nice beach. We went to Royan also which was nice also.
The temperature for nearly all our holiday was 30 degrees which was lovely. We took the kids to the zoo which is huge and is just 6 miles away. Would definitely recommend. Other than going to shop we never really went far as kids wanted to spend holiday in pool/park. We had 1 takeaway and ate at site restaurant twice which we enjoyed. The site also hire fridges but our electric coolbox was fine.
Whilst there we booked for 10 days next year as enjoyed it so much. We even booked the same pitch.

We have just returned from an enjoyable 3 weeks holiday at this site and overall I would give it a very good rating.
The campsite itself is lovely with massive pitches situated either in open fields or woodland. Toilet blocks are clean and showers were usually avalable after a short wait on some occasions. One criticism is that water points are only available in these blocks and refilling could sometimes mean negotating a maze of windbreaks across several rows of caravans! There is a fantastic amount of space for children and the swimming pool is very pleasant if a little cold! We used the takeaway once or twice, but failed to use the restaurant - Naussica in St Palais is worth visiting for that special night out. Staff were always very helpful and didn't mind resorting too much to Franglais.
The site is very well situated in relation to the nearby beaches at la Palmyre and the Cote Savage. The sea-side town of St Palais is also close by. The villages of the 'marais' are also adjacent and ideal for cycling (Mornac sur Seudre is lovely.) Our only criticism is that unless you want a beach holiday with some cycling, other options are a bit limited.
La Rochelle is within half an hour's drive and well worth a day out. Otherwise you are struggling a little for quality places to visit.
Don't come here if you want a total 'French experience', as there was a very high percentage of Brits on this site, although I have to say the atmosphere was more friendly than some sites we have visited.
The children are insistent that we return here next year, and I think for once we might break our 'somewhere different' rule.

Can only reiterate what previous reviewers have said. A lovely family campsite.
The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful, speaking good English, but happy to let you try out your French!
We had a shaded pitch on a cross roads close to a washing area. When we first arrived we were worried that being in such a potentially busy area we wouldn't have much privacy. However our concerns were groundless as the pitch gave ample room for privacy and we didn't find it getting too busy.
The toilets and showers were cleaned early every morning. Toilet roll was provided but it tended to run out later on in the day.
We didn't eat in the restaurant but the take away pizza was lovely and good value.
The play area was fantastic and our 9 year old boy soon made friends as there were plenty of English children.
We didn't try out the pool but it looked very clean.
The shop was well stocked and there was another small supermarket just across the road from the campsite. There is a small Champion Supermarket about a 15 minute drive away.
The combination of the open fields at the front of the site and the shaded wooded area at the back gives you the best of both worlds. We visited in early August and the open aspect meant that it didn't feel crowded at all.
There is lots to see and do in the area though you do need a car. It is supposed to be possible to walk through the forest to the beach (a longish walk) but we didn't try it. We particularly enjoyed the small beach at St Palais sur Mer, the market at St George de Didon and a drive down the coast past Royan takes you to some lovely beaches and villages.
We have booked again for this year for two weeks this time so that we can get to do all the things we didn't have time for in our 6 night stay.
