2nd time here. Hired one of the Mobile Homes there as bought a different car and cannot fit all the camping gear in! Accommodation was privately owned but hired through the site. All I can say is this site is MEGA. It has a Bar/ Restaurant, decent sized pool which is very clean, a children's play area, a zip wire which I had a few sneeky go's on, crazy golf, volley ball pitch etc. Facilities are spotless. I have NEVER been on a camp site anywhere with toilets/ showers anywhere near as clean as this. Bar food very good and very reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help.Location is next to the Layon river just off the D960 a short walk into Concourson sur Layon, the area is pretty much surrounded by vinyards and sunflower fields. The village of Doue is a 5 min drive away with its famous Zoo which is a definite must. Will be back soon!

This is a lovely campsite set down a quiet lane. It is just off a main road which leads to lots of places. It is within walking distance of a small village and a lovely river. The toilet/shower block is very good and the biggest showers we have been to for sometime. They were kept very clean. Plenty of hot water. A hand basin out side the loos was a lovely idea. Some of the pitches were a bit small for our caravan but we went round and picked our site. The pitches were separated by hedges, and we had our own water. The pool was very nice and set a little way apart from the pitches as was the playground. The owners were very helpful and friendly. There is a bar/club house on site, but we did not use it so can't comment. If you want a quiet site near to towns with loads to see,pay them a visit. I am loath to tell you about this site as we will be returning again.

Just returned from 2 weeks here. Vallee Des Vignes is a very good site in an excellent location.
The site is extremely child-friendly in a good way - lots of space on-site to play and 'hang out', just a couple of pool tables for them to spend their Euros on, no video arcade and FREE use of the golf equipment for their dinky little 9 hole mini-golf course! Well-equipped central playground, superb clean pool, volley / badminton net, table tennis, boules pitch, zip-wire, pet goats / chickens to feed and a couple of football goals.
Generally well landscaped although a couple of pitches looked quite small. That said, ours was huge, big enough for our 8-man Hurricane, an awning, large family car and still plenty of space left over for lounging around.
Shower / wash block is impeccable and thoroughly cleaned daily between 11 and 12.
There is some background noise from the main Doue-Cholet road that passes adjacent to the site and this does continue intermittently through the night. No shop on site at all and no immediate plans to change this (the site only has about 80 pitches and most of the new ones are being given over to mobile homes) - a friendly local drives onto the site at 9 a.M. Offering bread, milk, juice, croissants etc. Although you will pay considerably over the supermarket prices.
Local area is brilliant and very French - vineyards, lots of markets, chateaux, caves, pretty towns (Saumur is particularly picturesque). You can also reach Puy du Fou in just over an hour and Futuroscope in about 75 minutes.
For the nerds, the site electrics are 2-pin reverse polarity so you will need a European adaptor and to re-wire the live / neutral on your EHU to be completely safe.
Overall, highly recommended for families in high season and equally suitable for others as a base outside of the summer peak.

We were so impressed with this site we have booked again for 2010. The pitches were of a good size with water and electric. There is a boules pitch, swimming pool, rope swing and small children's playground. When we were there they were in the process of installing a pets corner I think, for the children. The owners are improving the site all the time. The restaurant food was of good quality. The owners very friendly and kept the site in a very clean condition. We were there in June and it was quiet. There are supermarkets within 5 mins driving and lots of beautiful villages to explore. The zoo at Doue is a must.

We have been visiting this site for 8 yrs now,and enjoy it every year, That must say something,,.We find the pitches excellent, the shower block terrific, the pool enjoyable in hot weather, the Bar / Resturant very friendly and reasonably priced. John & Lesley with the help of their wardens will do anything to help you,. And make your stay enjoyable. We hope to return again next year and continue to visit more places we have not yet managed to see. We would not hesitate to recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice peaceful holiday with a lot to do in the surrounding area

Got a great welcome and a detailed description of the Site. Everywhere looked very good and we chose a pitch.Well it was so nice we stayed 4 weeks.
The owners (John & Leslie) are from England and nothing is too much trouble for them to assist you with your holiday, the same goes for their Wardens Frank & Barbara all wonderful people.
Nearly every pitch has EW&D and there are some lovely ones, the Sanitary Block is kept very very clean and accommodates everything you require.
Locally within a couple of miles there is a Zoo which is well known and shopping is about another .5 K to the Super U, Lidll and Aldi with Intermarche a further .5K.
The local vineyards are well worth a visit and you are always welcome.
Saumur, with all its attractions is not far away and they are really worth seeing.
We loved it and were sorry when we had to leave.

We arrived here after a long and hot journey down from Calais with our now fed up 10 month old daughter, the site entrance is beautiful with the gardens being well kept and the reception building well presented.
We checked in and were told on which pitch to go to, we drove past it a couple of times as it was not clearly marked
The pitch we had been given was right next to the toilet/shower block which were kept very clean and tidy, at first we thought great until later that evening and were constantly disturbed by the slamming of the doors that have a big magnet attached to keep them shut. We visited the restaurant on the first night food was fine however a bit pricey, we did not use it again. We enjoyed our stay due to the people that we met.

We stayed for a week towards the end on the season. As a result the site was not busy. In fact the peace and quiet was exceptional, just what we wanted.
The site is easy to find as the owners have placed signs on the main road.
The pitch we were on was clearly defined by hedges, flower beds and trees that provided shelter but did not completely block the sun. Other recently developed pitches had little or no shade. The pitch was also full service which is always nice.
The site contains a bar/restaurant and a swimming pool. Unfortunately these closed early in our stay - not unusual at the end of the season.
The facilities were reasonably new and spotless, the ever so helpful wardens worked hard to keep them clean.
Wi-fi is available.
The local area is full of things to do but to be honest we just chilled out.
All in all a clean, tidy, well run site that would go to again without reservation.

Easy enough site to find with clean facilities. The bar was open, and expensive. There was some evening entertainment which we chose not to go and see as we could hear it loud and clear from our tent.
There was a good children's play area and nice touches like having washing lines available, badminton net etc. The pool was like ice. The facilities were spotless, with huge showers and plenty of hot water. There had been problems with children hanging around the toilet cubicles at night; making noise and blocking the toilets up with loo roll, and consequently the owners had decided to remove loo rolls from the toilets making them available to those that went to the bar to ask for some as they needed them- not ideal, but I can imagine how frustrating cleaning deliberately blocked up loos can get.
My main criticisms were firstly the noise made by the toilet / washroom / shower doors as people opened and closed them (they were on strong magnetic catches and did require some effort to open or close). This noise was constant day and night and did wake us up. Secondly, the price to freeze a small ice pack (50 cents) was the same as to freeze a very large ice pack

Most reviews have covered all the plus points just to add another positive really. Nice site, quiet without being dead, really good pool, great location, friendly owners, limited evening entertainment but about right for this site, got the mix of things to do and peaceful surroundings spot on.
