Our first CC Site and we were more than impressed. It could have been the glorious weather that made our stay but the site was very well run. Level, relatively easy access if you follow the directions in the Club handbook and excellent clean facilities.
Both our 9 yr old boy and 11 yr old girl quickly made friends and by all accounts had a great time. There was also lots of dogs and a good dog walk so again good for us with our 2 yr old Bedlington.
We were only there three nights and wished we had booked for longer. The area was interesting, on the Sunday we visited Hythe and swam in the sea then on to Deal which had their carnival week and was a bit too busy for us.
On the Monday we bought a family rover ticket on the Hythe, Romney and Dimchurch Miniature Railway which was good fun for the day, we eventually ended up at Dimchurch and again swam in the sea; we understand the beach to be sandy but the tide was high for the whole time we were there.
We will definitely go again.

Decided to apply for a Seasonal pitch at this excellent site and were lucky enough to be accepted.
Have had a fantastic 8 months at Daleacres - excellent wardens who were firm when needed to be, but also had a great sense of humour!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and could not wait for Friday evenings so we could hop into the car at 6. 30 pm and be down at the caravan by 7. 45pm all set up and ready for the weekend.
Managed 81 nights away during which we took out a yearly Passport at Port Lympne zoo, which you can see from the site (and hear the Lions, too which can be a bit spooky if you do not realise you are so close!). Well worth it as we visited it 14 times. Keepers are really friendly and will always stop for a chat to answer any questions you have. There were also special events, for instance painting eggs which were given to the monkeys, carving pumpkins which we fed to the tapirs, and to the rhinos too. Great fun.
We also took out a Membership of the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway, which gives you approx 75% off each visit - again worth it if you are going to visit the railway more than 3 times. Really enjoyed going here and the drivers and staff are excellent with the children. The children liked the fact that the engines are their size!
Daleacres is a great site and we will enjoy going back again in 2013 to see Margaret and Stuart - thanks for making it so pleasant, and thanks to Sue and George too.
DO NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 1PM AND DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR SAT NAV DUE TO THE NARROW LANES - USE THE MAIN HILL DOWN TO HYTHE BY THE RAILWAY STATION AND ALONG THE A259 BY THE RANGES AND TURN RIGHT TOWARD THE BOTOLPHS BRIDGE INN.

DO NOT USE YOUR SAT NAV for your journey from the M20 - use the directions in the Caravan Club site book or website. Lanes nearby are very steep and narrow.
We were back again to this great site, this time for an extended Halloween weekend.
All-day trip to Dover Castle on the Friday, only 25 minutes away. Great fun for the kids and a very full day - well worth the money. Take a picnic though as the food soon sold out.
Then on the Saturday night, the Wardens, Margaret and Stuart and their current assistant wardens Phil and Julie held a Halloween Party, where 90% of the people dressed up - loved the wig and the tattoos Stuart!
They were raising funds for the British Heart Foundation, judging the children's colouring competition and provided nibbles and refreshments plus sweets for the kids too, in the recreation room. We recognised and chatted to quite a few of the regular patrons (once the masks came off) and it was a great event and a credit to the Wardens and we are glad that we went there especially for this. Congratulations to them for raising funds for this great charity. Great fun and a really excellent evening.
Loads of pumpkins and banner decorations around the site too - a real party atmosphere.
We will be going back there next year, hopefully more often, and are really looking forward to it.
An absolutely top-rate site.
Good luck to Phil and Julie at Ramslade in 2012, and we look forward to meeting you again sometime.
We again recommend that you really must stay here too (as long as you leave a space free for us !).
Enjoy !

What a cracking site very easy to find. The staff are very friendly and helpful, very clean and well looked after site. Toilets/ showers clean and plenty of hot water. Play area and small games room but more than enough to keep my kids happy. Great for bike rides. Local pub with in walking distance. No local shops. Great view of Port Lympe Zoo. Pitches are not to close together grass / hard standing. Large grassed area for ids to play ball games, good size dog walking area. Going back in Nov cant wait. Just a tip don't go via your sat nav get directions from camp web site.

Having visited Daleacres a couple of times, we look forward to going again.
Ideal for a long cycle ride along the sea wall to Greatstone and beyond. There is a lovely pub about a 3/4 mile away, no idea about the food, but the menu looks very competitive.
The facilities are the usual CC standard, and are kept clean and tidy by the hard working Wardens who can't do enough to make your stay memorable.
We can't wait to return to take advantage of the fantastic facilities, and for another cycle ride!

Just returned from our fifth trip to Daleacres this year, one more left to do. To say we like this site is an understatement. The wardens, Stuart and Margaret along with Phil and Julie, are lovely people who really care for the site. Stuart and Margaret are in their 4th year at the site and looking at completing a 4th next year. They keep the grass areas and toilets in fantastic condition.
The site itself lends itself to all and sundry. There is an enclosed dog walk area of considerable size, an even larger open playing field for ball games and kite flying, children's play area and a general easy going atmosphere around the site.
There are a reasonable amount of hardstanding pitches but not so many to make the place feel like a pebble beach. A circular track feeds all areas and allows the kids to ride bikes until they go dizzy.
A brilliant site with great staff. We will continue to use on a regular basis as long as everything stays as is. For us it is damn near perfect.

Do not use your sat nav for your journey from the M20 - use the directions in the Caravan Club site book or website. Lanes nearby are very steep and narrow.
This is our favourite site. The Wardens, Margaret and Stuart, are brilliant and so friendly and we have got to know them really well over the last few years. The assistant wardens that they have this year, Phil and Julie, are great too. We have just returned from the Poppy Party that they held on Sat. 11 June in aid of Royal British Legion, with a sports day for the kids (and some adult heats too!) followed by a raffle, and nibbles and refreshments in the recreation room. A great event and a credit to the Wardens and we are glad that we went there especially for this. Congratulations to them for raising so much money.
This site is a great site as it is level with just one 5mph road going one-way (strictly enforced, for bikes too). There is one toilet block that is very clean, with very good facilities - child/toddler bathroom (deposit required for the key), privacy basin cubicles, free showers including one with a raiseable head, disabled toilet with radar key, laundry and indoor veg. Prep./washing up area - this has a low sink so no excuses for the kids not to wash up ! There are a couple of water/waste points which are always clean, and there are now Recycling bins at these points too.
There are more grass pitches than hardstandings, and these are all well kept, and the flower beds and baskets always look lovely.
There is a card-operated barrier allowing access/exit.
For the kids there is a fair sized fenced-in play area and an enormous playing field with no obstructions on the other side of the site, where football can be played, frisbees thrown and kites flown, not annoying anyone. Next to this is a fenced-in dog walk area (poops to be scooped). The Recreation room occasionally has films shown, plus there is also a games room too, with one male and female toilet in this block opposite the office/shop too.
If you listen carefully, you can hear the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature steam railway whistling as it passes some distance from the site over the level crossing on Botolphs Bridge Road. This runs from Hythe to Dungeness (approx. 13 miles) and back. Also nearby to the site is the Play Barn along Donkey Lane. You can also cycle along the sea wall from Hythe to Folkestone which is flat.
We have been to this site twice this year, and will be returning another couple of times before the caravan is put to bed, and can't wait.
This site is fantastic and we recommend that you really must stay here too. Enjoy !

The first thing to mention is to take the advice of previous reviewers and do not rely on your Sat Nav for the final part of the journey, but to use the directions on the CC site.
In my opinion this site ranks as one of the best in the CC portfolio. The reception at the site was smooth and efficient. The wardens went out of their way to explain about the site and the area. It was noticeable how pristine the site was kept, the grass was neatly cut and flower beds well maintained.
The site is split between hard standing and grass pitches, the grass pitches far outnumbering the former, but all were level and showed no signs of wear and tear.
The pitches are clearly marked out and in comparison to many sites, these pitches were large.
Water and waste areas were well placed out and in addition to the main toilet block in the center of the site, there was a smaller block at the entrance. Even at the weekends when the site was full it never felt overcrowded.
The road within the site has numerous speed bumps which kept the speed of vehicles down, this ensured that the site was safe for children to cycle and play.
The toilet blocks were clean and warm at all times. They contained ample facilities for the number of pitches.
The site is ideally placed for touring the south east corner by car.For NT members there are numerous places to visit.
For those wanting to go to the beach, there are numerous beaches nearby, most however were pebbly.
Within easy reach of the site are a number of supermarkets (Sainsbury, Waitrose and Aldi)but most local towns have an abundance of smaller outlets.
For those wishing to eat out, the area caters for every taste.
The main road networks around the area make travelling further afield easy.
This is the first time that I have spent any time in the south east. I have no doubt that I will return again and use this site.

Well what can I say this was one of our best stays on a caravan club site. The site was kept to cc standards. Toilets and showers were up to date clean. While we were there the staff were painting the toilet doors and the only time we knew anything about it was when the door colours had changed colour (from undercoat I think) So this didn't even cause any problems to anyone staying on the site.
The games room was enjoyed by us all sadly I didn't beat my hubby at table tennis. We stayed next to the field and had lovely sunsets and the views of sheep every day off our stay. We enjoyed lots of walks and went and sat and watched the ships come into Dover and walked along the White Cliffs. Such a lovely afternoon but would have liked to have spent all day there.
Back to the site the only downfall I had is we were over the other side off the site from the playground and I didn't feel it was extremly safe with the park area right by the road and gaps in the bushes. Would love to go back and see that they have improved the safety around the play area.

Lovely well kept site with superb dog walk. Normal excellent caravan club facilities but the site has a lovely green feel to it with lots of grassy pitches and shrubbery.
There's a huge amount to do in Kent with lots of NT properties and beaches etc although this time we didn't get to do too much. There is a pub nearby within walking distance although easier to cycle to it, whole area is very flat and god for cycling.
We were only 20 minutes to the chunnel. We used it for an overnight stop on the way to France but are planning to go back to kent for a proper visit and will stay here again.
