This is the BEST site we have been to. There is plenty of room between pitches and plenty of room for the children to run around and play. All pitches are level and have electric hook-up

Lots to do and see in the area. Dymchurch has a sandy beach and the large Sainsbury's is a little further on along the coast road. The other way is Hythe with a good choice of restaurants and further on is the town of Folkstone (park in the car park just past the Harbour and take the ‘Lift’ to the Town Centre)

Did a tour along the coast towards Dungeness then turned towards Lydd stopping at the Royal Oak Pub (a little way off the main road) for a delicious Sunday Lunch and the best local ale I have ever tasted.

Definitely coming back next year for a longer stay.

The best site so far. Chose pitch when you get there hard or grass standing all same price. We chose pitch near park.Small games room and shop. Wardens very helpful. Stayed extra night.

Showers were cleanest yet and not push button. 1st cubicle in mens and ladies has hose shower very powerful. Pegs in shower cubicles and shelves. 8 shower cubicles plus sink cubicles. Amenities very good, Ideal base for touring.

Try the chinese in Hythe, very good. Dymchurch nearby and shops in dymcurch.

Please do not go by sat nav. Come off m20 at junc 11. Head for a259 dymchurch. Come off a259 at sign for lymp zoo and botolphs inn, at botolphs inn turn left and site is 1/4 mile on left. The roads are narrow all around so make sure you go to a259 then come off at zoo. Enjoy your stay. John and Family

Stayed here for 4 days at the end of the half term holiday.

Lovely site, friendly wardens. Showers nice and hot, and very clean. Family bathroom, although we didn't bother to get the key to use it. The wardens arranged a halloween do on the Halloween Saturday night. They had obviously gone to a lot of effort with the decorations and food, sweets (lots) and drink they put on (and sweets). It was a good chance to meet all ages, and there were far more children on site than we had realised. They had put on a colouring competition for the kids, and a game for the adults with prizes. And did I say there were sweets!

There was a what looked like a brand new playarea for the kids, and a big field for ball games.

Right on the doorstep of Portlympe, you can see the enclosures from the site. Used our Tesco clubcard days out vouchers to save a bit of money. There were also some money off vouchers in the leaflet from the information room on site. Also the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch steam railway has stations nearby in Hythe or Dymchurch. We did the Dymchurch to New Romney (cost £16 rtn for 2 adults and 1 child, under 3's go free), with a little walk around New Romney when we got there. The kids loved it.

Dymnchurch has a little kids funfair with most rides £1, also with amusement arcade. Easily could entertain them for an afternoon. We would have gone back, but we didn't have the time.

Sainsburys is a couple of miles down the road in New Romney, or there is a Tesco Xpress in Dymnchurch.

We didn't get to the pub down the road in the end, but we did try a lovely chinese - Windy Hill - in Hythe (CT21 6PH) there were menus in the site info room.

Definitely one to go back to, as its only about 40 mins down the road from us.

We stayed here for 2 weeks over the summer as my parents were keeping their caravan there for the whole summer period and let me and my fiancé stay there when they were not using it.

It was a fantastic site with friendly wardens and great facilities.

There is lots to do in the surrounding area, including Port Lymph wild animal park which is a fantastic zoo.

It is only a short drive to Folkstone and Dover so a day trip to France is very easy, we got a ferry from Dover and went to Citi Europe.

There is a pub on the corner of the road about half a mile from the campsite which does really nice pub food which is a must if you stay there.

The site is kept up to a very high standard and I would highly recommend it.

The site was up to the usual high standard of the caravan club and the wardens were very friendly. The site has a large play field for the kids which was very popular for flying kites. The is also a climbing frame in another part of the site.

Site was very busy, be prepared to queue for showers at peak times. As mentioned it does get windy so make sure your awning is anchored down properly.

The kids do what kids do and cycle around the site - if they follow the one way system there is not a problem. The site has a speed limit of 5MPH - that's walking pace but some people did not seem to grasp this judging by the speed they were going.

Hythe nearby has an ALDI or WAITROSE (expensive) and there is a TESCO EXPRESS at Dymchurch.

DO NOT USE SAT NAV TO GET TO THE SITE UNLESS YOU LIKE NARROW AND STEEP ROADS!

Nice site - would go back again.

Just spent 2 weeks at this site, and I confirm all the previous reviews, this site is excellent and beautifully kept. The only thing in walking distance is the pub at the end of the road, we ate there on 2 separate occasions, and could not fault it.

If you view the aerial photo from the map button on the campsite search, the 'red balloon' is near a static site about half a mile to the west, the daleacres site is the one further to the east.

As we love the beach we tried out most in the area, most are all shingle, but if you drive west through Dymchurch, you come to st marys bay, where there is a private carpark charging £2 all day, which has a sandy beach at anything other than high tide, but you can sit on the steps till it goes out. Toilets and snacks etc available.

The only other sandy beach is Greatstone, further towards Dungeness, which has lovely dunes and fine sand.

There are a couple of pitches that are not level on the site, on a shallow rise near the road we were on one no5 but not a problem.

There are some seasonal pitches here, and whilst we were there, a family of hares were nesting under one and ducks were nesting under another.

Great site.

Stayed here for long weekend over bank hol. What a great site, wardens are the friendliest we have met and make you feel very welcome. Facilities are very well kept with plenty of hot water, the site is also kept to a high standard.
There is also a nice children's play area and a play room with games for kids, which is a good idea if the weather is bad. The pub down the road is a good 20 min walk and you definitely need a torch for the walk home. We have already booked a return stay

Beautifully managed site. The wardens were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The site is spacious with plenty of room for children to enjoy themselves. There was a lovely mix of all ages - young to not so young! It is worth mentioning that it can get quite breezy so make sure your awning is well secured! Facilities were spotless and plentiful.

We witnessed an extremely near miss with the kids on bikes using the one way system as a race track for their bikes and one very young man came very close to crashing into the side of the caravan being towed in front of us on their arrival to site. Good job the caravanner was going extremely slowly but if the boy had ran into the van and it was very close it could have been worse. This is only grip. If your on one of the hardstandings which surround the one way system be prepared for the all day racing that goes on. Get on the outside grass pitches if I were you and before anyone thinks we are being killjoys we see more than our fair share of grazed knees, tears and fraught parents.

Follow the sites directions and beware of the sat navs which can take you into some difficulties. Our advice is to take the road into Hythe and at the traffic lights by the miniature railway turn right heading down the coast road and turn right after the quarry entrance and follow road over level crossing up to the pub and turn left. Site a mile down the road on the left.

The reception area is well laid out with security entry and exists. There is a few provisions for just in case moments ! the site has a film room for the kids in the afternoons showing DVDs.

The usual CC arrangements apply and upon entering off to select your pitch. You drive around the one way system where the hardstanding pitches are and the grass pitchs around the site. We pitched on the grass in one corner near the facilities.

The grass pitches are well maintained and all have EHU.

The facilities are excellent. The water pressure alone is stunning and hot. You wont regret showering here ! ! we did observe queing one morning but as we are evening showers it didn't matter but worth the experience as they are the second best showers we have ever encountered on our touring.

The views of Lympe Castle are lovely and we were lucky to have good weather.

The site is off the main road and but is only 5 minutes from the main coast road. It is about a 25 minute drive to Dover to catch the ferry to France and Folkestone is not far at all. Hythe is nice as well.

All in all

We would definitely go back to Dalesacres. No second thoughts or thinking of alternative sites. For us a trip into Kent for a week or long weekend will find us in Dalesacres

Firstly don't arrive in the dark! Its very difficult to find, down some pretty narrow lanes, not the best if you've driven a long way to get the south coast. We booked it as a stop for the early ferry and it served us well for that. Use the directions from the caravan club handbook if you can, the sat nav takes you down roads that you don't want to, even without the van on the back.

Clean, spacious and friendly site.

Would use again now I know where it is!

Only stayed the one night so cant say too much about the surrounding area, but it looked nice.

Nice play area for the kids. Pub 20 mins walk.
