Stayed here for 3 nights, Nice site with pub and shop on site. Showers/loos were large plenty of room too shower and dry, only problem is they got a little grotty with kids messy about in them, I am sure if I spoke too the owners they would of sorted it, as they seemed very friendly and happy too help out. Staff at bar were very helpful and friendly.
Grass in great condition but felt that pitchers in some area's were a little close too others.
Wish they took dogs as we would go back more often.
Great site with lovely owners.

We decided to go here for the bank holiday weekend as it was close to home. Overall the site was clean, friendly and well set out toilet blocks with each cubical having a shower, sink and toilet in it. Electrical hook ups, no playground but did have a club house, the menu was basically burgers & chips.
The tents and caravans were mixed which is a little unusual but did not really cause any problems.
The problem was there were a lot of noisy teenagers, loud music, car radios, car horns going on well past midnight. We have a young family and so it wasn't for us at all. We left the following afternoon after we had visited Tweedle animal farm which is well worth the visit. The site is also close to Hartlepool as well which we would have visited, site shop was stocked ok had the basic food you would need, the closest village was Dalton piercy which did not have any amenities.
Definitely would have been a good holiday if it wasn't for the noisy night.

I stayed at this site as it was just up the road from my home as I have 2 dogs.I had to return home on numerous times to see to my dogs only to find that there was a dog onsite. When I approached the owners about this they said it was due to the dog owner having a seasonal pitch. It wasn't on a lead all the time and I think its unfair on other dog owners.
I did like the site as I stayed for 6 nights in total. It was clean and the no dogs rule did help this. The showers are clean warm and modern. The games room was good with 2 pool tables, 2 arcade games and a football table. The bar is nice and prices sensible. Overall - Lovely site, clean, relaxing and well worth a holiday there. A children's play area would be nice and I understand that the site is getting one

We have just came back after a 1 night stay at this site, it was lovely very busy, nice little shop takeaway food etc. The toilets were probably the best I have been to, with great showers, we would definitely go back.
Only downside was we had a 8 man tent but there was only 2 of us and had to pay £18 the night. I would not let this put me off but could run expensive if you stayed for a few nights.

This was our first attempt at camping and we found the site very good indeed.
The lady in the office/shop was very helpful. It was a nice site and the toilets were very clean as a whole.
We would love to go back to this site but unfortunately we cant as we have a dog.
I would recommend 3 improvements to this site
* Allow dogs * Take card payments * Childrens playground

Stopped here with the family and two other families. Excellent site kids had loads of friends to play with within minutes of arriving. Everyone friendly. Toilets / shower block warm & clean. Picnic benches / plastic goalposts at various points on the site. Indoor games room is ideal for older children.
Would recommend anyone visiting this site with children visit Tweedles Farm in Blackhall - Excellent value at £14 for a family ticket.
Only suggestions I could make would be a outdoor children's playground for the younger kids.
Will be back again in the summer.

The staff that booked us in were very friendly, basically we had 2 caravans with awnings and even though I had booked hard standing there was only grass pitches left, however the grass was in perfect condition so no harm done. There was plenty of kids around for our kids to hook up with which keeps them from under your feet but there is no play area which is a minus point, however there is a games room with a couple of pool tables in There is plenty to do in the near area including tweddle farm which is a full day out if its not raining and also big soft indoor play area for kids at Mr Twisters and also the beach at seaton carew So all in all a very well kept site with nice toilet / shower block and plenty of things to do locally, I will visit this site again.

Excellent site with the best owners you could wish for, they will bend over backwards for anyone. Excellent for kids to play with other's, I know they are going to open one of the other fields and have this for ball games etc and maybe in the future a playground Excellent for nipping to the supermarket etc just 5 mins away by car, There is even take aways that deliver to site Indians, chinese, pizza's etc. I love the site so much I have sited my van there so I just have to drive there when I'm off work ;) Toilets are top quality, cleaned regular with constant hot water.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ashfield Farm. We were given a warm welcome and a welcome pack on arrival which had a map of the site, site rules and some local information in it. We were welcome to pitch in any available pitch. Pitches were a good size and we did not feel cramped at all.
The toilet block is excellent (well heated), the female block had 2 toilet cubicles and 4 or 5 large shower rooms which each contained shower / sink / toilet. There was lots of hooks and a shelving unit to keep things dry and off the floor. Loads of hot water and showers were free. The site was full over the Easter weekend but never had to wait for a shower or loo. Male block was the same.
No dogs allowed on site (plus point for us but may not suit all).
The site is a new site and the friendly owners are improving and adding to the site. There is a games field but a play area is planned.
Hubby went in the clubhouse (they have Sky sports) and thought it was pleasant, prices were reasonable - £2.20 a pint.
Picnic tables and benches are dotted around the site. There is a stack of bricks near reception to lift barbecues off the grass and you are allowed to have fires as long as the grass is not burnt.
If there is a cold wind from the North sea you will need to wrap up warm.
I would recommend taking bottled water as locally Hartlepool water is renowned for being very hard and a noticeable 'scum' floats on the top of hot drinks (completely safe to drink but not to my liking)
The site is local to us and we will definitely return.

This was our 1st visit to this site. We found it to be good and the toilet facilities were immaculate however at first we were only given 1 key, after speaking to the staff at reception I could hire another key for just £2.00 which was ideal. We found the shop to be quite handy for essentials and were pleased that we could order a Sunday paper. The site needs the club house as we ventured into the nearby village and we couldn't find a pub or even a shop.
On a downside we found it to be very odd to not take cards and have a cash only policy and think that the owners may need to rethink this.
We found that the owners were very friendly and glad we met them before reading the rules of the camp, we noted that when we were given the details there was no opening paragraph welcoming us to the site and it simply stated the rules. This appeared to be a little negative. Furthermore a map of the site would have been useful just to point out the toilets, chemical point, games room etc
All in all it was a good site and we will return if we were to use the site as base camp.
