I stayed here for 3 nights in September with my boyfriend and our dog and we loved it.

The location is idyllic. I usually favour working farms for camping and try to avoid campsites with clubhouses and playgrounds etc, as I am generally looking for solitude when I camp, and this site did the job very nicely. It was almost empty when we were there and we could pitch wherever we wanted. The pitches were VERY large, each with a picnic table and with plenty of space between them so no chance of feeling claustrophobic here, even if it was full.

There are plenty of wonderful walks across the moor to Holywell beach where my boyfriend hired a wetsuit and surfboard and had the waves practically to himself. Polly Joke and Crantock beaches also within walking distance, Newquay perhaps half an hour on foot. The village of Crantock is pituresque and peaceful with a post office and small shops etc.

The facilities were immaculate, showers and toilets were spotless and a farm shop on site selling fresh vegetables etc.

The owner let us know the second we arrived that our dog must be kept on the lead (he was quite strict about the rules) but it did not bother us at all as there was simply so much space on each pitch that it was practically impossible to disturb anyone. After the first meeting when we arrived, we didn't really see him again as far as I can remember. There was a young surfing group staying there too, but again, although they were in the same field, due to the size of it, it felt like they were miles away and we could hear nothing at all, even when they sat out at night together.

I would definitely re-visit this site if I was staying in the area again! Truly magnificent walks and views around the area and the most beautiful beaches I think I have ever seen! Well worth a visit.

What a fantastic site. The owners were very down to earth and approachable. We found it very family friendly and the fact that the tents were pitched around the outside of a huge field with plenty of space for football, cricket and rounders games in the middle was a great bonus.

The facilities were great. With lovely hot showers, great recycling, freezer usage, homegrown veg and even somewhere to charge up your mobile phone! We felt as if everything had been thought of.

I did consider not writing a recommendation as I don't want others to realise just how fantastic it was.

Even with awful weather the setting and facilities were so brilliant that it didn't dampen our spirits. We would definitely go back again.

This is a beautiful campsite and there is nothing I could fault about it. The showers and toilets were always clean and warm. The owners live on site and are friendly and helpful. They grow some vegetables and herbs which are for sale. There are laundry facilities on site. It is fantastic value for money at £7.50 each per night.

There are three beaches all walking distance from the campsite. We surfed on Holywell beach and the waves were really good. There is a bar 3 mins away on the adjacent campsite which had a really nice atmosphere and there are little pubs in the village about 10 mins walk.

It is about 10 min drive from newquay and all site seeing we did was no more than about an hour away. We did the Eden Project, St Ives, Port Isaac, Tintagel and wine tasting at Cammell Valley while there.

The pitches are a really good size with a picnic table already there. It was my first camping holiday and prior to this I thought I hated camping. I'm sure I could go on as I feel this campsite contributed to us having a really great holiday and we will definitely go back.

What a fantastic campsite, there are a number of campsites in this lovely area but this has got to be the best. I can only imagine it hasn't been reviewed before as the regulars would prefer to keep it a secret!

A large field with only 22 (very large), flat pitches marked out around the edge. And that's it, the whole central area is kept clear so you get an amazing feeling of space and the area is ideal for children to play safely and rampage with new friends.

Bright, spotless showers and toilets, washing up room, laundry room with washer, dryer, iron. An eco hut with recycling bins, freezer for ice packs, trashy novels to borrow, plug for phone charging and no phone reception, ha haaa!. Handy shop 5 minutes walk up the road and a large rack of boogie boards to borrow for the beach.

Three great beaches within walking distance across National Trust land: Crantock, Polly Joke and Holyhead.

We absolutely loved this site (can you tell) and will definitely be visiting again.
