A one night stopover and what a nice pub site. Very friendly and helpful owners who booked us in quickly and explained where the facilities were.

The site is a good size and although by the road, it is not really a busy road and we probably saw as many horses on the road as we did cars.

The site is basic, however they provide an outside toilet for use if the pub is shut. The mens were clean and usable, however I cannot comment on the womens. How water is also available in the toilets. There is no shower.

There is a fresh water point and chemical disposal point and the site has plenty of hookups available should you wish. They also offer either hardstanding or grass pitches.

The pub itself was very friendly and had a good laugh with the locals. They sell the normal range of beers, wines and spirits and reasonably priced too.

The food is well priced, home cooked and a varied menu. We ate there and enjoyed the grub very much.

We did not venture out so cannot comment on the local attractions, however there is a village a couple of miles away.

I would return to this site and at £10 for the night for the campervan without EHU, reasonably priced too.

Not a recommended site, arrived for day of booking to be told I had arrived on the wrong day (I hadn't and eventually after checking their book they realised-with no apology), I was charged more than I was quoted on the phone!

The toilets are dirty and there is no shower-compared to the price of £17 per night I think this is outrageous, there are cleaner more friendly sites local and cheaper!

You could not meet a nicer guy than the owner, however he has no say and his wife is the complete opposite! The garden was closed off on the Saturday due to a private party and we were forced to travel out to occupy our children. Stay well clear!

Have just got back from a weekend stay at the Horse and Jockey. Both landlord and landlady where superb hosts, with a good selection of ales and wines on offer.

The pub was being re-painted internally and it looks bright and fresh. We eat a meal on Sat night in the pub which was of a very good standard, with good service.

There is an outdoor area with bench seating for when we have good rain free weather, an outside toilet can be used whilst the pub is open.

We intend to return soon, as the site is not far from home and offers a close get away.

GREAT PUB, FRIENDLY OWNERS. I must say when booking this site I was worried having read the reviews, field where we pitched nice cut grass, clean, outdoor toilets BONUS, not the best but the building looks years old, clean though, that's all that matters. Electric if you wanted it. The owners Jackie and keith where both friendly and welcoming, food was good average priced, I must say I can't believe that I am typing these comments having read the previous ones, but I am and all I can say to anyone thinking of booking for camping or caravaning or just for a drink or meal DO IT, don't be put off like we nearly was by other comments.

Attended a club rally at this site, 18 units in all. We booked the venue for a skittles night, but found we were expected to use a very small room at the back of the pub. Toilet facilities weren't up to standard, but most ralliers use their own facilities. The meal we had in the pub wasn't too bad, but the treatment from the owner most certainly wasn't acceptable. We were expected to pack up and leave site virtually straight after flag, and this wasn't explained prior to us arriving. Needless to say our club will not be using this site again.

Nice pub in a rural location. Very basic facilities which we were expecting although we would have preferred a toilet with some sort of decent lighting and in the gents the seat fell off just as I sat on! But the toilet facilities were the only negatives at a very friendly site situated by a lovely country pub that sold decent beer. But the best bit about this site is that it's situated opposite a lovely wood. Beautiful 15-walk brings you to the village of Ridge Lane where you'll find the Church End Brewery. You can try a third of a pint of each of their beers served in a wooden 'coffin' carrier - highly recommended.

For £9 it's a good value site and great for a weekend away.

This nearby campsite looked ideal for our fist camping experience. Phoning to book our pitch, Keith was very relaxed and told us we could arrive at any time, to pitch up and then settle with them when the pub opened at 5pm.

The site was pretty empty when we arrived and we assumed where and how we should pitch up by following another camper's example.

Later that evening, Jacki came over and didn't seem pleased as we had pitched the tent slightly over the 'imaginary' boundary but 'kindly' told us she would not make us unpitch our tent!

We were not made aware of any facilities, opening times or other useful information at that point.

In the evening, we went to the pub for our evening meal which was delicious and good value. We had a couple of glasses of wine which lead to another. We had a very enjoyable evening with both Keith and Jacki being very good, friendly hosts, so we decided to stay another night.

We ate again the following evening as we had so much enjoyed the meals and once again enjoyed excellent service. However, this was completely ruined as on leaving I overheard staff laughing to other customers at our expense saying how we were camping novices

Also, the outside toilets were in a state, dilapidated and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time.

Nice site, Level grass pitches or hardstanding at back of carpark most with hook ups. Overlooks farmland to the rear, main road to front, some noticeable noise.

Pub with nice garden, good food reasonably priced and very pleasant staff. Can use pub toilets when open, outside hours there is a toilet in the pub garden, its a bit basic but its clean and serves it's purpose.

Good site for chilling out as there is very little else at hand. Have been a couple of times and will definitely go again.

Took our grandson on his first camping trip and he loved it, there is a small play area for kids and lots of grass (assuming that the site is not booked out).

Excellent location, with plenty of places for dog walking. If you walk through the woods opposite the pub, you come out to another pub, and further down the lane you will come to the chapel end Brewery, an excellent micro brewery and pub.

The horse and jockey serves good real ale and good food at reasonable prices. The campsite is clean and tidy as are the outside toilets, although these could do with an upgrade with at least a light for night time use.

Jacksons of Arley is close by, and also hartshill Hayes for more dog walking.

We arrived at lunchtime and were met by the Landlady. We were immediately made welcome and learnt they had recently taken ove the Pub.

There is a nice Beer garden with a small playground for the children. Other reviews mention the road but we didn't notice any noise from it.

Dinner was superb and very reasonable priced, children's meals were just a few pounds.

My only criticism would be the outside toilets which were the only ones available when the pub was closed. They were spotlessly clean but badly in need of refurbishment. I can't imagine it will be too long before they get to this.
