Did not no what to expect here as we normally do the bigger sites just to entertain the kids but we had a lovely weekend here, its a basic setup of a lovely country pub and a small camping area at the rear, there's a small play park and plenty of space on the camping field for kids to play.
Toilets are clean but basic, think of your old fashioned outside loo, only moan I could have is there a bit old and the lighting could be better, but other than that they do what there supposed to do. Lol
The pub is a really old style country pub, they serve excellent food at good prices and the beer is good and again not over priced, the staff and owners were extremely friendly and the table service was superb.
We came here to use as a base to visit twycross zoo and had a fab time, we also visited hartshill country park that is very nice
All in all a nice weekend, and would return if I wanted a break away that's not too far

What a lovely site Jackie & Keith the owners are very helpful. Little traffic noise but nothing to worry about.
Outside toilets could do with being upgraded & tidied up but as they have only been there since May I know it will be done.
Heavy duty pegs are required on field (don't know what's below the grass but it is hard).
Will definitely recommend. Jacksons caravan & camping store is only a short drive away. Good food & good beer what else do you need.
You can also have a game of skittles if you like.

Well what can I say. Its a pity its not too closer to home,
We stayed over here for one night on our way home from France and spent a couple of extra nights here, because we thought it was just so nice.
£12 a night for a touring caravan with electric.
The owner could not have been more helpful or welcoming. Its a lovely site and after three weeks of naff French larger we dropped on a gold mine. A beer festival that weekend.
There are toilets outside of the pub.
We went for the Sunday carvery served until 4pm but they had sold out by 3.20pm we we went in, and the owner offered to cook something extra which he had in. He could not do enough.
The town is quite nice and a lot of history
I would travel the 100 miles for a extra long weekend we enjoyed it so much
Also a nice play area for children as well

Stayed here for one night to test out our new trailer tent. Pitch fee was £9 without electric. Owner (George) was friendly and helpful. Our pitch was next to the road so there was some noise from traffic, but not too bad.
The beer in the pub was excellent and the food looked good too (although we didn't eat there). The outside toilets for campers use were basic but clean. The site is close to Atherstone which has a good selection of pubs, take-aways and a leisure centre with a nice pool.
Hartshill Hayes country park is about 10 mins away which has lovely walks through the woods (and the bluebells are lovely this time of year).

We (3 families with small children) stayed here after being let down by another local site. We had the warmest of welcome from George and his wife, facilities were very basic - an outside loo / sink with lots of spiders. However we did nip inside and use the loos from the pub. The kids had a great time with the free range animals and the small park. The fees were very cheap, but we had a fab time, especially with the cold beers from the Bar.
We had a pub lunch which was very nice and then a lovely Sunday Carvery. George said he was hoping to upgrade the facilities to include proper showers and pot washing facilities etc. In 2010.
The local town is a 5 min drive away and we had some lovely fish & chips from the local chippy.
I would definitely return.

Stayed here for 3 nights after the site we booked let us down. We (2 adults and 2 children) thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Although there is some road noise this did not bother us and there was no noise from the pub.
The pub is lovely and everybody was friendly. The food looked lovely and seemed very popular although we did not eat here. Please note that they stop serving food about 9pm (4pm on a Sunday).
The children enjoyed the site as there is a small play area and the field is large enough to play ball games. The toilet are clean but as they are outside and the light left on they have quite a few bugs.
Atherstone has plenty of facilities; pubs, take-aways, restaurants and supermarkets and is only down the road. We would return to this site again if we needed to camp in this area.

We have visited twice since our last review, but since then things have changed at the Horse and Jockey, the goats have gone, and the charges have risen, it cost us £14 a night without an awning (£1. 50 extra), just for 2 of us and 2 dogs (£1. 50 each). Nice site but felt taken advantage of. Check prices before booking.

So close to home did not realise it was there. Enjoyed a lovely break here. Just a little road noise but otherwise very peaceful. Site is attached to the pub, owners very friendly. Lovely play area for the younger ones and a field for ball for the older ones. Very pleasant will certainly go again. No doubt. Basic facilities but still acceptable.

On hardstanding with awning. Electrics good. Long lead not always required. A quiet yet friendly cs. Lots to see in the area, good shopping nearby in Atherstone. Outdoor toilets should you want to use then are clean and well cared for.
The Pub has a good selection of ales and beers, the food is very good and very moderately priced.
The site is very dog friendly, as is the bar. In October the fire in the bar was especially welcoming, and we found it very difficult to leave it at times for the van.
We were next to the goats who were very well behaved and added that little something extra to our visit.
A well run cs which we will return to.

Good Beer, Good Food. A quiet site bar the odd bit of road noise. We popped up for just one night to test out the new campervan. Very friendly staff. Toilet block was a bit basic and the lights in the ladies didn't work but all was useable and I think there are plans to improve them. Great for chilling out and cheap. A powerpoint was available but we didnt need it. I would certainly go again and plan to very soon just to get away from it all. :o)
