The first thing that has to be said about this site is its value for money; We have a Corado 4 with canopy, car, trailer and 3 adults, cost was £10 a night plus £1 for the extra adult! (no hookup).
It is small site with one main field (about 15 pitches) and a slightly larger second field, we were allocated the second field and told to pitch anywhere along one side of it, as we did not require hook-up we went quite a way down the bottom near a hedge. The field was level and the grass was cut, you do find a lot of stones on the last inch of knocking the pegs in. There was an arable field behind us and a paddock with horses to one side.
There shower/toilet block had a wet room and a couple of loos in each side, the showers were free and the water was hot; everything looked as if it could be kept a little cleaner but was not too bad and perfectly adequate.
The village of Scrooby only had a pub which is on the corner as you pull into the drive down to the site, looks very nice and does food, we tried it for a drink in the garden, had 2 pints of Black Sheep and a coke and it came to £10. 80 which I think is quite expensive even if it is a nice country pub. Bawtry is around 35 mins walk from the site with Sainsburys, Co-op and a selection of pubs and restaurants.
Others have mentioned noise on the site, firstly we found the site was quiet with no loud music or screaming kids but depending on the wind direction there were various noises to be heard. When we first pitched the wind was coming from an easterly direction, this meant we could hear trains which I believe are about a mile away and road noise, none of this was too intrusive. The planes going to and from Robin Hood Airport passed over the site which was quite a sight in the evening. Once the wind had changed direction the trains became almost unnoticeable as did the road noise, the planes were using a different heading and although you heard them they were no longer going over the site. The most intrusive noise came from the arable field behind the hedge; they have a watering system which works its way down the field and sounds like a giant grandfather clock ticking through the night, obviously this is only needed at certain times of the year and with certain crops so may not be there when you visit.
To clarify, there is noise but with the exception of the watering, it did not bother us much at all.
On the whole a lovely country location, whilst on the site we saw a fox, rabbits, hedgehogs, a Buzzard landing on the fence post, swallows swooping around the field all day, various other birds in the hedgerow and bats in the evening. Lovely.
Would definitely use again for a long weekend or stopover.

What a gem of a site, beautifully manicured grass areas, a roomy toilet block and the snazziest flushing chemical disposal point that I have ever seen lots of years of caravanning/camping etc.
The owners are a really friendly couple, and happy to be helpful. The extra benefit is a nice little pub 'The Pilgrim Fathers’ (no relation) 400 yds down the lane which does great food and real ale. Its close to the approach to Robin Hood airfield, but flights seem to stop between 1100 and 0700, and its not that intrusive. We will be back.

Found this site for snagging weekend in new van. Good level well drained field. Pitched as we pleased. 6 amps only though. Owner friendly and helpful, not intrusive. Toilet block ok, but no soap in mens loo. Pub at entrance to lane is welcoming and dog friendly in bar, had excellent Sunday carvery, people willing to wait for tables to be available.

We used this site as stopover for one night without booking. It was nice and easy to find and a good level field. The grass and flowers were well kept and the owner was friendly when pitching up.
There were some handy tracks for exercising the dogs and a pub just at the end of the lane. The toilet block could do with a bit of a refurb and clean up, but I thought for price that we paid it was fine.
Will probably use this site when visiting family in the area again.

Found this delightful site on the ukcampsite page whilst looking for a cheap stopover for our trip to Norwich. After searching for a service station halt we found this site cheaper at only £8/night without ehu as we did'nt need it, and only 2 miles off the motorway. Well manicured grass pitches and a clean and tidy amenities block made this a very welcome bolthole. There's ehu along with elson point and even a quirky little potwash 'hut'
The owners let us choose our own pitch and did'nt hassle us for payment. The owner even called over to our van later to help us with our directions for our onward journey, very helpful and friendly. Try the pub at the end of the lane for a decent pint.
If you're looking for a really good site either for a stop off or a longer stay look no further, you wont be dissapointed I promise.

This is a gem of a place, so relaxing the field is perfectly lawned and so clean as are the toilets & showers. The owners Maureen & Ken are a lovely friendly couple and very helpful. The other caravners we met have been coming here for years I know why just ideal for a weekend or short break and only half hour away from us, the people living on the lane are so friendly too. There's a lovely pub a 5 minute walk what does home cooked food lunch menu are £6 and they do an evening menu the garden is beautiful and relaxing what more could you want, we will be coming to Scrooby more often 😀

We booked into this site after reading the reviews on here, as we were going from Scotland to Ashford and needed to break our journey. We were so happy that we called in on the way back too. The couple who run the place are very friendly and helpful, pointing out to us where we could let our dogs run off the lead, and advising that people would be coming in late that night in case we were alarmed. The shower/toilet block is adequate, though a bit spidery, and there is a washing up hut. Field is large and very neat. We paid £12 which included electric hook up which we managed to trip just before we left.
We had assumed that we could eat in the pub but on arrival it looked very quiet and we were informed that someone had cut themselves and everyone was at the hospital and the place was closed. Two weeks later we were sure we were going to be able to enjoy a nice meal, but the pub was definitely closed so I had to cook. There are no other facilities in the village, although there are apparently lots of places in Bawtry not too far away.
If we drive south again I'd not hesitate to stay here overnight, it's really handy for the A1.

What a gem of a camp site! Very quiet & peaceful, the site has a toilet & shower block, the hot water is solar powered, females one side, males the other side with 2 toilet cubicles & 1 toilet in the shower cubicle big enough for wheelchair access, electric hook ups, pot wash area etc. The site owners are a very nice couple and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
Close to the A1, A57 and close to Sherwood Forest, Clumber and Rufford Parks, lots to do and see off site.
The Pilgrim Fathers pub at the end of the lane is most welcoming, the food is excellent, especially their Sunday lunches, excellent value for money all round.
I certainly recommend this camp site and look forward to my next visit there.

What a little gem this site is, access is easy, handy for all the towns around because it is just a few miles from the A1M, it is well kept, dogs are welcome and the lane is good for dog walking without much traffic the owners are friendly and helpful. It is a level field, there are EHU's washing up facilities, showers & toilets, pub at the end of the lane, we would certainly recommend it and will be back soon.
