A nice site in a quiet location.
The owner seemed very helpful, the toilets were clean, the showers were free and the grass well cut.
We did'nt try the meals in the local pub [of the same name] but the [hand pulled] beer was superb.
Whilst there we visited Clumber Park & Retford.
The village of Edwinstow [of Robin Hood fame] and Rufford Park are also within easy driving distance. This site is also only about a mile away from Bawtry. Which is little market town.
There is also a good sunday market at nearby Thoresby Park.
Will definitely go back again.

What a great site!
We spent one night here and will definitely return, the owners were very helpful and we were able to get a hookup at short notice plus when my 10 metre lead was found to be too short the owners loaned us one of their 25 metre ones.
Well kept site, toilets and showers were very clean if a little dated.
Would suggest a day at Yorkshire wildlife park whilst stopping here (closed for winter now I think though), great day out.
There is a pub just at the end of the road the site is on, looks very nice but we didn't get chance to go in.
Overall we would highly recommend this lovely little site

What a great little place. Very quiet and a great place to chill out. There was 3 of us in one tent and cost us £9.00 for the night. The cost is £8.00 per night per tent based on 2 people sharing but charge and extra £1.00 per extra person staying over and visitors can also come to see you for just £1.00. Very clean surroundings, clean basic toilet and shower facilities.
The campsite is great for tents and caravans and both were there when we were. There is a water tap to get water from on site for boiling and the owners are very polite and friendly. Pets are also allowed and there we a couple of dogs on site throughout our stay but dogs must kept under control or on a lead.
The Pilgrim pub is situated at the top of the site about 5 mins walk away if that, serving homemade food if you don't wish to cook.
We would definitely recommend this site for couples looking for a quiet night or two away or for families only local ammenities would need to driven too as the site is situated in a village.
The only thing that I feel the site would need would be a small on site shop or being able to purchase groceries there rather than travelling into Bawtry to the local shops which is only about a ten minute drive away any way.

Upon arriving at the site I was met by the site owner who did absolutely everything to ensure that I was adequately catered for. I stayed on the site for a considerable time and got to know the owners well. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and they had extensive knowledge of the area and kept the site and the facilities clean.
The surrounding area to site is beautiful and there are countless walks. The bird life is interesting and you may have the opportunity to watch birds of pray being trained on site. The site owners are very dog focused and made my little dog Lola very welcome.
The nearest village/town is Bawtry and this was a lovely place to meander around the shops and for eating out. If ever I find myself in the area I would not hesitate in calling back and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and keep up the excellent work of making people feel at home on your site.

Pilgrim fathers caravan park has electric hook up. Toilet / shower facilities set in a quite rural area but close enough to get to larger cities.
The site is level and big enough that you have plenty of space between vans the owner lives by the site and is very helpful.
To enter the site you pass a public house also called the Pilgrim Fathers, this is a very friendly welcoming pub with excellent food and good beer. Scrooby is a small village but an easy stop off when travelling on the A1/M18

Just an update on previous review - its now £11pn for EHU. There are extra fees for awnings etc. Those toilets are so cold due to lack of heating, still no loo paper, one tiny plastic shaving mirror, but still good value. 4 other units on here so a popular site.
The ale in the pub was on form again - just the black sheep available for real ale lovers.

We stopped here for the weekend and were pleasantly surprised. Just the two of us, two cars and a dog with EHU was just £10 pn. Just a couple of minutes drive from the small town of Bawtry and 10 mins from Tickhill.
Have to say that the toilets are very basic (did not try the only shower due to lack of heating)and could have done with being cleaned due to smell. But there was hot water for washing hands and face. Take your own loo paper - none provided. No pot washing facilities at all unfortunately - but the upside is the low fee after all.
The pub at the end of the lane that you turn down (also called the pilgrim fathers - no connection) is excellent. Real ale (Black sheep) and a great carvery for £5.95. Choice of 4 roasts and was given more meat than I've ever had at any other carvery! As much proper (not frozen), well cooked veg as you can get on your plate (not small plates either!) and lovely gravy too.
Will definitely use both the pub and the site again in the future as its a very handy location.

We have visited this site in February and April this year (2009), the price has increased slightly from last year but only by a £1, so £10 for EHU and £7 for none EHU this is for one unit and two people, dogs are free. The shower has been upgraded this year and a sign in the shower clearly tells you that the shower is solar powered, in February we couldn't get any hot water out of it when we tried to have a shower but we didn't have a problem this time. We camped with some friends and we were all made to feel welcome, although most of us have been before. There is no washing up facility so make sure you take atleast a washing up bowl of tuff tub to wash your pots in if you are a tenter. There are slabs and stones which you can borrow to stand your BBQ or fire bucket on so you don't damage the grass. We had a fair amount of rain and again no problems with the ground. This is a get away from it all site and first time visitors with us commented on this, there is a little noise from the rail track and overhead planes from and to Doncaster airport but nothing that will bother you, mainly its peace and quiet. The pub up the lane The Pilgrim Fathers (no link to site) has changed hands since we last left a review, you can't take your dogs inside now but you can in the beer garden. They serve average food but at a reasonable price if you don't fancy cooking.
Overall this is a decent bolt hole for us and worth a visit if you like plenty of room, peace and quiet and don't mind basic facilities.

This is a lovely campsite, we went with our four children and they had a great time even though there are no play parks there is plenty of room for them to run around and be children.
They have 10 ehu all of which are 6amp but plenty of space if you don't want leccy.
They have a field that can be used for rallys etc
Toilets are clean and they have solar powered heating in the showers !
The owners are lovely very friendly
There is a lovely pub down the lane which has a beer garden and lots of toddler toys for little ones to play on.

This is our local campsite and well worth a visit, the owners are very helpful and accommodating, and the site is a brilliant price £6.00 without EHU and £9.00 with, the site has recently introduced a few more EHU points.
The site has for each sex 3 WC's one of which is in a large shower room, there is only one shower each but the facilites are adequate and clean. You are encouraged to recycle on this site aswell which is always a good thing. The ground is well drained and in very good condition. The site is situated on a lane down from a very nice drinking pub also called Pilgrim Fathers although they have no connection with each other. Very nice place to have a quiet drink and you can take your dog in too.
All in all a great site very reasonably priced although there may be a few pounds addition for number in unit etc. Although this site does accept children there is no play area for them but plently of fields and walks around the area to keep them entertained, with easy access to Bawtry, Doncaster, Retford and other surrounding areas this site is ideally placed.
We have been 2 or 3 times already this year and will be returning again next year.
