This is a fantastic camp site. The camping field is large, flat and set amongst wooded areas and the banks of the River Usk. We were lucky to have the entire place to ourselves for three nights mid week.
The shower / toilet facilities are superb and we particularly liked the fact that the following days weather forecast was posted for all to see either the nigh before or early on the day.
Despite a fox getting most of the chickens shortly before our stay the owner rustled up a couple of fresh eggs and some delicious home grown salad leaves at very short notice. The site is ideally placed for walking or riding, far enough away from everything for peace but not too far for convenience.
Only one suggestion. With the weather 'iffy' a small undercover area to eat would be useful, but really is a very minor point.

This site is about as perfect as it gets and that's from 20 years camping !
An immaculate toilet block (3 unisex toilets and 3 unisex showers) and a 3 acre field that had at most 4 tents in it make for a really peaceful campsite.
Real fires are allowed in braziers so all you can hear in the evenings are sheep, fires, the river that runs through the site and a hawk circling overhead.
The owner is very friendly and the shared use of a fridge freezer really makes the holiday easier.
Can't fault this site at all - you will love it!

Myself and partner found the campsite to be absolutely beautiful and very friendly! The campsite has a lovely stream running around the field and our neighbours were chickens!
There are no cars allowed on the pitch so it was a bit of a drag on the first day as we don't travel lightly! We enjoyed it so much we are going back for 10 days in July and hope to make full use of the new toilet/ shower blocks!
I fully recommend this to anyone who is not looking for a rowdy weekend. The campsite is far enough away from the road to feel like your far from anything- also there is no pone signal so that's another bonus!

This is the Rolls Royce of campsites and I think will be impossible to beat. Beautiful, totally peaceful location, with Red Kites and Buzzards soaring above you. Yet near to Brecon and amenities. Handy for walks, bike rides, rock climbing, swimming, you name it.
All aspects of the campsite are outstanding. The site holds 40 people when full. In a huge field, surrounded by veggie beds, flowers and woods, means you have plenty of space. Most campsites would fill this kind of space with at least 100+ people.
Brand new toilet block with piping hot water was constantly immaculate. Owners incredibly friendly and helpful. No cars on the field was a welcome relief - no exhaust fumes, blazing CD players and total safety for children to play.10.30 noise curfew in perfect working order.
Site's own spring water to drink, fridge & freezer facilities and hens to watch. Plus the river Usk to paddle in with direct access from the field (fenced off off course for added safety).
For serious relaxation, peace and luxury this is a must. Oh, and the cooked breakfasts delivered to your tent are a definite must as well. Cannot recommend this site enough - only don't all crowd at once as I want some space for a return visit!

What an absolutely brilliant campsite. Very welcoming and very clean. A joy to see a campsite that has no cars on the camp field. Also lovely and quiet. The toilet/shower facilities were always clean.
We recommend the Breakfast that you can buy, saves on the cooking. Lovely area with plenty to visit. We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the owners, wheel barrows included.
The site was very easy to find, there was also a chance to cook on an open fire, which we haven't done for quiet a while.

What a fantastic place to camp! Wonderful family who run it, set in a beautiful location, facilities are great with a brand new shower unit built and completed only this weekend and they are really great. No cars allowed on the site means that you really do feel like your a million miles from anywhere!
Only thing is that there is no mobile signal at all! now you can look at that at 2 angles! but yeah no signal which for me was great, totally away from everything!
Even the eggs are good!

This is a fantastic little campsite to get away from it all. It's our second time of staying here and we'll be back again. A lovely field next to the very start of the river Usk and another little stream trickling through from their own spring. Great location, lots of different birdlife in the trees, in the space of 15 minutes I saw redstarts, pied flycatchers and dippers dipping in the usk. There were also red kites circling over head.
The owners are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We particularly liked having a fire on a cold night.
The bathroom was lovely and more showers and toilets were nearing completion while we were staying.

For selfish reasons there is a severe temptation to post a negative review in order to dissuade people from visiting this real gem of a site.
The welcome from all of the family including the dogs is very warm, the site is kept immaculate, there are good facilities for such a small site, it is well situated you can have a fire using the provided brazier, the field is good and level.
I could go on but have to say that you have never lived without experiencing the breakfast service to your tent.
Enjoy greatly but leave me a space for my next visit.

This campsite is super lovely. We found it using this site and went to it on Bank holiday weekend, where there were only 4 tents. It was easy to book with no deposit which makes a refreshing change from camping now-a-days. The owners are so nice and welcoming and the whole place is clean and really well kept.
The location is beautiful and we were encouraged to go and play in the river which the kids loved.
Great to have a fire as well, this is what camping is about!
There was a real sense of relaxed freedom and our dog and kids felt really at home. I almost don't want to write a review for fear of it becoming too popular!
The only criticism would be that the well nice bathroom meant people didn't want to leave it and I think it would be difficult to get to the loo if busy, I think the owners are trying to address this.
Brecon is also great for kids, the walk we did took in rivers, caves, view of life sized dinosaurs in the dinosaur park, waterfalls, funny cows and ostriches!

The people were lovely and couldn't do enough for you - we even got some free range eggs for breakfast! The children could feed the chickens and collect the eggs. They had some very friendly dogs that caused no problems and the boys loved to play with them. The field was flat, totally fenced off (great for our wandering children) and there was a trickling stream that is worth investigating.
This is a brand new site and the shower and loo are immaculate and it seems they are cleaned after every time it is used! We did have to wheelbarrow the tent etc a short way - but this was no bother and we quite enjoyed it especially the 3 year old who had a lift back and forth!
The area is gorgeous and when we ventured out we didn't see a soul or car for ages, great for getting away from it all but not too far from a main town.
We could totally relax here as the children were safe and we shall definitely be returning. Hopefully better weather next time!
