Pleasant site, with good size pitches.
Arrived slightly before 12 noon, so pub not open, had to go knocking on doors to try and raise someone, but luckily as walking back to the front of the pub, someone was just unlocking the door.
Due to the width of the field, it was impossible for us to reverse onto our pitch as there were caravans on the pitches opposite. Thankfully one of the other campers helped us push our van in after dropping it off the back of our car.
Even though there are private houses either side of the site, their gardens are shielded by shrubs along the boundaries so you don't feel as though you are intruding into private property.
Toilet facilities are basic, but clean. Water points easily accessible throughout the site. Due to the width of the site, there is no space for children to play except at the bottom by the entrance gate, but this was partly taken up by a camper van.
Only briefly visited the pub before heading out for a meal, but seemed pleasant enough.
Cawood itself is a lovely village with plenty of walks in the surrounding area.

I have stayed at this site three times this year, April/May/Aug. Small friendly site, pitches a good size and serviced with water & electric.
Site is mostly used by adults, so tend to be fairly quiet, although I haven't been at Bank holidays. Toilet and shower block very clean, there is also a outside washing up area, there are no children facilities.
The pub meals are very good whether in the bar or the restaurant, The owners are very helpful and pleasant. There are good places to walk along the River bank, and the village of Cawood has plenty of history, York is only a short ride away and so are the Yorkshire wolds.
All in all one of my favourite sites

A delightful weekend, with glorious weather.
The site is quiet and clean, with all pitches serviced with hook up and water, showers and toilets fine if a bit nippy first thing.
The pub food was sound and the owners friendly and helpful. There is no sizeable local shop.
I would recommend the Wolsey walk, which you can download from the Cawood web site. There are also convenient hourly buses to York leaving just down the road.
