Just arrived back from three nights here over Easter, and for one night we were the only tent, other two nights - 2 tents, so it's ideal for a quiet peaceful rest.
We are already planning our next two trips there as my girl was nearly in tears when we had to leave, she is only 18.
A fantastic campsite with stunning views in all directions, breath taking panoramic landscapes that makes you want to explore the rest of Wales. The facilities are clean and well maintained.
The area may not be ideal for young children who are looking for more adventurous activities as no play area or the such is provided, but that only increases the appeal for those wanting a quiet getaway.
The owners are very friendly lovely people who add to the charachter of the place. Very highly recommended!:)

We had a lovely time at Tir Abbey Farm campsite a few weeks ago. We were the only tent there for one night. The field has lovely views and the toilets are clean. The whole site is very well maintained. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we were able to have a camp fire which was lovely.
This is a real back to basics camp site which is what we wanted, no showers as yet although there are plans to build a block soon. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location. Warm welcome. Kids loved running around bear footed in lovely field. Ground devoid of rocks/large stones making sleeping on camping mats a reasonable proposition. Compost toilets were brilliant; clean and inviting! We had a lovely fire in a brazier borrowed from Peter and Linda. Logs were on sale and we got through a few bags. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely rural clean campsite. The owners are really friendly. The views are panoramic, of the local mountain ranges. Very peaceful and undisturbed. If you wish to have peace and quite, interested in nature then you will love this location. I also got a good Orange and Three mobile phone signal. The toilets are compostable, they are nice and clean and do not smell at all. The field is undulating however we found a good pitch with a great view of the mountains. There is also a tap with spring water, otherwise no other facilities, although logs and eggs are available from the owners.
Swansea is not too far away, with its shops, cinemas, restaurants, beaches etc. And also nearby along M4 is Margam Park where you have Go Ape, Aberavan beach near Port Talbot, and Dan Yr Ogof caves.
The site is great for couples, ones who want some solitude, walkers, artists, nature lovers etc.

We've just got home from a really enjoyable weekend at Tir Abbey Farm campsite. We fully agree with everything the previous reviewer said - the site is fantastic for getting away from it all and reminding you about what camping is really all about. There is nothing to beat sitting around a fire in the evening surrounded by beautiful views and complete peace!
The toilets are basic but clean and green.
The owners are very helpful and welcoming.

Stayed here last year in mid August, fabulous location up on top of a mountain with views down to the valley below.
A really friendly couple own the campsite with their gorgeous dog Barney, they couldn't do enough to help. We went with our daughter 9, there was plenty of space to play and it was nice and quiet at night.
If you are looking for mod cons or night life this isn't the place for you. The location of the site is fairly remote and facilities consist of a water tap and sawdust loos - but if you are happy to get back to nature, I would wholeheartedly recommend this lovely site.

A great site. It's very basic which just adds to the experience. The site was fairly easy to find thanks to the directions on their web site, toilets were spotless, views totally amazing.
Linda and Peter were very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed which was nice since the weather was awful. Even though the rain was bad that night the field was still pretty good and not as boggy as others I've been in.
I look forward to going back there in the near future.

Lovely campsite run by Linda and Peter who couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Barney the dog is adorable. We really enjoyed our stay here this weekend and we plan to return soon. The views from the campsite are breathtaking and there is much wildlife to see. This would be a good site for keen twitchers.
We weren't too sure what to expect using composting toilets but were very surprised as they were so clean, smelt fresh and pleasant/easy to use! The hardstanding tap runs lovely spring water. Eggs and logs are sold at the house, also braziers available for burning the logs. Camping field is on a gentle slope but perfectly fine to pitch a tent and camp.
I must add that we are the type of campers that love basic camping and relish peace and quiet. This site is perfect for those looking for a basic yet totally relaxing & peaceful get away. If you are looking for showers blocks, facilities, stereo music or swing parks for your children then this site will not be for you. We'll certainly be back soon.
Last note: we found the site easy to find although some may not as the small roads near the site may not be clearly sign posted. Do take printouts with you and the site telephone number for directions if you get lost.
I've rated this campsite based on the type of camping that we enjoy (location, back to basics, cleanliness and peace).
