We had a wonderful stay at Tir Abbey Farm! Despite the rainy weather we felt very relaxed and comfortable in this beautiful and natural place situated at the top of a hill.
The owners are very kind and good people whom we had the pleasure of speaking with. They even gave us some eggs from their own chickens.
The facilities were good, everything you need when camping; two toilets, one shower, and a drinking water tap.
Perfect for people who like the real and free experience of camping!
It is definitely worth the drive up the track to the top of the hill. We would definitely recommend Tir Abbey Farm. Thank you and good luck to both of you- we hope to see you again in the future!

We loved this campsite. The owners, Peter and Linda, were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms were clean and well looked after. The site was quiet and had beautiful panoramic views. I highly recommend this site for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat near Swansea. Loved the up-cycled braziers provided.

Wow, what a discovery! This place is an absolute gem. It's tucked away on the top of a hill and there are some fabulous views to be had.
It was so peaceful and quiet when we went. As with all the good campsites, it's a fairly bumpy path to get to there, but it's definitely worth it. You can walk into town, but it's far so I would advise driving.
As it's quite remote, they have composting toilets. Don't be put off by that though or you'll be missing out! (And don't worry, they don't smell).
The real stars of our stay were the owners David and Lynda. They were both so lovely and it was a real pleasure speaking to them. They are such kind and genuine people. They even offered us some tea and cake (which was very tasty).
We will definitely be coming back to stay here again (and hopefully bringing cake for David and Lynda in return!).

There is a steep climb to reach this site but my 1972 Gilbern Invader made easy work of it. You get a very warm welcome and the views are fantastic. The facilities are basic but clean. We stayed for 2 nights and hope to return some time.

Lovely site with a warm and friendly welcome from the owners.
It's a huge field and fairly quiet while we were there - must have been a good hundred metres or so between us and the nearest tent! The facilities are clean, well designed, and well kept. There is one shower (free), a drinking water tap and two regular toilets. We were at the opposite end of the field near the two additional composting toilets (totally converted - they're great!).
As the owners say, it's a real back-to-basics site, but there's a nice touch of quality to it. Fairly close to the surrounding villages, it is nevertheless far enough on its hill to give the impression of remoteness and has wonderful views and a big sky. We enjoyed the stay and would not hesitate to recommend it to those who are comfortable without needing everything laid out for them.
We didn't feel it was appropriate to comment on the child friendliness as we didn't have any with us, but it's safe and there isn't really anything for them to do.

Ok so I've found another cracking site in Wales. For what I want which is a view, a fire, water and owners who don't fuss around the site, it ticked all the boxes and then some on the view. Superb view over the Black Mountains and Swansea Valley, it was nice to see all the lights twinkling whilst having a fire and a beer at the end of a day's walk, but not having any of the noise from the towns. So you feel the isolation, but also know you're close to civilisation. Re. The wood, it's £6 per bag, but it's the biggest bag I've been given anywhere, and certainly the best amount of kindling; also the wood is really good, I've been given some quite green stuff elsewhere which is a bugger to get lit. So well done on that. Lovely couple running it when you see them, I fully intend to stay here again.

This is a lovely site, beautiful views and friendly owners. Access is via a steep track but it is worth the effort for a cool camping experience. If you want to enjoy space, views, peace and quiet, and yet be within driving distance of the Brecon Beacons and the Gower coast then this is for you. The two flush toilets are clean and the shower does the job. This is a site for those who love simplicity and space.
