Perfect campsite for us-Before even entering the driveway we spot a body of water with unidentified birds, entering the driveway we were faced with dozens of herons and egrets-birding heaven!

Lovely friendly farm with animals for the kids to befriend, all great washing and washing up facilities, all incredibly clean (despite the bad weather. ) Great adventure play area where the kids can meet up and even a tennis court.

The weather was very mixed, as it has been all summer, but plenty of places to explore wet or dry. We've a list of things to do next time as long as our arms so will definitely be back.

Would highly recommend this campsite, particularly for families and for anyone interested in birds.

Oh and did I say it's great value too!

Very basic campsite - very much a working farm, but showers awful - 1 shower - I don't expect luxury but I want cleanliness and I was not prepared to use that shower !

Owner friendly enough. There were two collies and two charmingly boisterous jack russell pups running around loose

Have to say apart from the lovely forest the area does not have the beauty we had seen elsewhere on the island - village is a bit dreary - dogs not allowed in the one pub - so as it was raining we had to sit in the rain or go back to the van.

The grass was really waterlogged, and might have been a problem in a tent - I don't think we will be returning.

First of all the good points. The site is easy to find and well sign posted. It is in beautiful scenery and away from it all. The horses, donkeys and lambs were all lovely and the kids loved playing with them.

It has a wooden park with a sand pit, swings, seesaws, climbing equipment and a boat. It isn't far at all from Newborough beach which is gorgeous and Rhosneiger, Cable Bay and RAF Valley are all a short drive away with some fabulous beaches.

There is a fridge freezer for freezer blocks. A laundry £1 each washing and drying. A washing up area (although not sign posted) with hot water. The prices are great. 2 adults 3 kids 1 car in a tent with electric £23 a night.

Now the bad. The toilets aren't the best I've been in. The floors were ok but the walls were dirty and the sink area wasn't great. There was no access for my daughter in her wheelchair as there is a big step from the grass up to the toilet block.

There is a tennis court but it was locked the whole time we were there. There is a local chip shop but it is only open at limited times. Quite hard to catch and when we missed it the nearest was Llanfairpg. Quite a drive for tea.

Also there is a sign up saying that dogs are to be kept on a lead but the owners dogs ran round the site the whole time we were there. One of the little ones even managed to get into our tent in the morning while we were asleep. As our youngest is scared of dogs it was quite a problem. My husband did mention it to the owners but was told that they had been busy and they couldn't lock the dogs up. I can understand that but as dogs aren't allowed on the camp site we thought they could be kept in the owners garden or something.

Overall the site is ok for the price but we will be looking elsewhere next time we go.

Stayed here on a cold damp night whilst doing the Anglesey coastal path walk. Rural quite farm site. Grass nicely lawned, found the facilities very run down. The toilets In very poor condition unclean sinks and vanity units. No heating, there was only one shower, which we had no choice but to use as we had a hard days hiking. It also used up coins very quickly. It was only one night, as I would not stay any more. On the positive side it's in a nice area for walking & exploring.

We stayed here in our motorhome with the three lads in a tent over Easter. The site is spacious but I found it a shame you couldn't see Snowdonia so views not up to much.

Showers/toilets are quarry floor tiles, no heating - in an old barn - perfectly fine, unfortunately there was a flood in the ladies but the owner quickly tidied it up. I think there must have been a problem with the electrics as the hand drier in the gents wasn't working and only one shower was working out of all of them! That was in the gents.

The next day the shower was working but for my 40p I must have had thirty seconds lovely warm water - rest of the time freezing - we have been on loads of sites, this was definitely the worst for showers. There was nothing wrong with the actual shower - it was hot and you didn't have to keep pushing a button but the fact the water wasn't warm and they didn't work half the time left a lot to be desired.

This site has a good playground for kids and there are donkeys, sheep, chickens and cows - is is a working farm tho' so wellies are a must.

I think you had to wash your pots in the bathroom sinks, I could be wrong but couldn't see any other washing areas.

The road is ok to the site - it's a bit bumpy but no problem.

The chip shop was nice and the pub (Joiners Arms) has a pool table - you can walk to both altho' it's not just a quick hop.

Malltraeth has an estuary which is good for bird watching and it's not far to Newborough Warren - you have to pay £3 to park there but well worth it.

Site was good value - two of us over Easter with no elec was going to be £11 a night! However lads with us and we managed to get elec made it £20 - still a bargain.

I stayed at Pen-y-Bont Farm for a week in August and absolutely loved it, despite it not being the best August weather-wise.

It was my little girl's first camping experience at age 9 months and she loved the rabbits, guinea pigs, donkeys, sheep and the cheeky chickens all on-site.

The owners were lovely and would let me charge my mobile in their house no problem. On our penultimate day a flock of geese flew into an electricity cable (we only found out when we got back from the pub) and the owners were out managing the situation brilliantly and directing us all in with torches and parking cars in a nearby field.

At the weekend more family joined us, so we were a party of 7. 5 and still all next to each other.

The toilet blocks were basic, but cleaned daily. Showers were nice and hot, just need to remember your 20p's!

I am told the chip shop is really nice, though I was dieting so none for me! There are walks you can do from the site.

I would go back here!

My only wish was that it was a bit closer walk to a nice sandy beach!

The owner was friendly on arrival however couldn't find our booking.

The site in general is rundown. The playground has items missing and the see saw moves sideways so children get their legs trapped under it as it doesn't hit the tyre underneath.

The toilet block is of similar standard toilets and showers clean but walls in ladies toilets very dirty and it wasn't cleaned off at all whilst we were there for 4 days.

Will not be returning. They advertise excellent food at the local pub but we were turned away by a not very nice owner! 8 miles to nearest take away and took two and half hours to find somewhere to eat one evening!

When we first arrived, the owner didn't have a record of our booking which was a bit worrying, but I had my confirmation letter with me proving that I had paid a deposit etc. So this was all sorted.

This is a lovely site - very quiet and peaceful. Toilet block was clean - but no soap and the loo roll tended to run out as the day wore on.

The tents were well spaced out and you could park your car next to your tent which was good. The owner let us choose where to pitch also.

There were lots of lovely beaches in the area - we found a particularly nice one just outside Rhosneigr, and the butterfly farm and model village were good also.

My only gripes were the access road, which is very rough and potholed - alright if you own a 4x4, but a bit dodgy in an Escort - and the fact that the owner let his dogs run around the campsite loose at night.

Oh - and bring a really good torch - because it gets dark here, really really dark. Its good for stargazing though because you can see loads!

Great site. Basic but clean & well kept.

My son & I really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be going back. The surrounding area is really nice with Newborough forest near by with a nice circular walk through it and plenty of beaches going up toward Rhosneigr and even more within driving distance.

The tennis court provided something to do for kids while the parents are getting ready.

If I was being 'very' picky the dividing fences between the laid back rows of pitches (don't worry it not like regimented lines of tent/caravans) has 1 line of barbed wire on it, you'd have to make sure small children are careful of it.

All in all a nice friendly site family.

Great site basic but beautiful setting. Fantastic beaches, good food, good walking all within easy access.

Tea rooms and Gallery in village serve fab home made food. Village pub good but book at weekends. Owners of site very helpful and so many animals kids will love it.

We are a couple late 50s camping with family and we would definitely recommend.

The cost of showers is 20p for 3 minutes which is plenty for a shower and there are four which was fine for the size of the site.

Tents cost between £11 £15 per night which is good value.

Fridge Freezer to chill the wine and freeze the ice blocks, washer and drier if you need to do any washing all in all great time and the sun shone as a bonus
