Over the winter we have completed development of the new toilet and shower block. We have taken the previous reviews into consideration and the new facility now include:-
Ladies toilet block with three toilets, three sinks, hot and cold running water and three showers.
Gents toilet block with two toilets, two urinals, two sinks, hot and cold running water and three showers.
This is on top of the existing washing up room with hot and cold water and the chemical loo disposal point.
We also now have proper fire pits/bar-b-q's and have logs for sale.
Hope to see you all during the year.

We have stayed here a number of times now and have been pleased each visit. We are small group that get to together a few times a year for some catch up and drinks. We all have a VW intrest too.
This site is great for us as we can all pitch together and sit around a fire. Facilities are basic but always clean and well kept. There were no showers when we last visited but I know they were on the cards for the furture.
Owner is great and very accomodating and leaves you to enjoy your stay.
It is just a field with some electric hook ups at one end and open space the other. Lots of room for kids to roam about. Also great if you have dogs, but please clean up after them, all too many don't!
Shops are a couple of miles away. Not sure about pubs and places to eat as we don't move once pitched.

This lovely site is very flat and easy to push tent pegs in. It is not massive but big enough for tents or caravans around the outside and room to play cricket, football, etc in the middle. We found the site very welcoming even though the owners had just got married and had other people/friends looking after it.
It cost us £20. 00 for 2 nights in a family tent-2 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 6 which I thought was a great price. Hookups are available at the top end of the field but not sure how much they cost.
No showers, 2 toilets for the ladies with only hot water taps (So don't expect cold water to clean teeth with-use stand pipes instead), 1 toilet and urinals for blokes. Toilets were fine for us lot(and had little finishing touches like wall soap, pictures and mirrors)but we don't expect the Ritz. Take own toilet roll.
Check with the site if camp fires are permitted as we found out that campfires had been stopped due to very dry weather and a dry harvest in surrounding fields-but we rang before going and the harvest had been collected so campfires were back on! Hooray! You can buy fuel usually, but due to circumstances the owner had not got any in but we had great fun hunting around the site for it and found plenty!
The pub is probably 5 mins drive away- we found the fox pub did great food and were very generous in their servings! But they stop serving at 3:OOpm on Sunday. Selby only 5 mins drive away so easy to get food stocks, but not a pretty little market town if that is what you are wanting. Mind you the lovely city of York is only about 30 mins away.
No play areas for children, but to be honest that's what cricket bats, footballs, frisbees etc are for!
Overall we had a lovely time. The only niggle was some road noise. Would recommend site if you don't want to be in the middle of nowhere.

The owners of the site were very friendly & welcoming. We could pitch where we liked as we didn't have electric hook-ups there was plenty of space for pitching. Supplying fire pits was a nice touch.
Overall a very friendly site.
Only gripe we had were the toilet facilities, we arrived on the Saturday and by Monday the same mess was still there as was there on arrival so it was obvious that the facilities were not cleaned during our stay which was disappointing. Whilst we understand you don't get the luxury of hotel standards when camping, to us cleanliness of the toilet/washing facilities isn't to much to expect.

A great site, cannot fault it.
Very good value for money.
We would thoroughly recommend this site to any one, it has good facilities and plenty of space, not crammed in like some sites. A lovely surrounding area of fields so nice and quiet. Field very flat and grass not long.
Host was really friendly and welcomed us, had a look around his big barn full of old vehicles - amazing. Be warned men will disappear into the barn and may not be seen for hours!
York is a short drive away and well worth the visit.
A great time was had, wish we could of stayed longer. We will be back - see you soon!

Chose this site for a weekend away as it's not too far from home.
Nice flat site, plenty of space available.
Owners are very friendly and the log fires were great fun.
The lack of showers would put me off staying more than a couple of nights.
Price very good for what you get.
Slight downside is there's nothing much within walking distance, with a campervan you don't want to be driving off too much.
The barn full of vehicles was very interesting to me, and I could have chatted for hours about them.

Not one to leave a review - but was guided to this campsite by reviews I had read on this forum.
Cost £12. 50 with hook up is right for this site. Was a bit disappointed on arrival as the grass was quite long and not easy to find the hook up. Toilets adequate - but not as good as described in some reviews, and we aren't picky.
There does not seem to be a policy on keeping dogs on leads, which caused us some problems - as we always do.
Surrounding area was nice, lots of country lanes (but quite a few boy racers, which was a bit scary) and Selby town centre a bit wild.
Won't be going again, but fine if you want to spend time sat around the campsite and chill.

Really nice, informal site. Upon arrival told to pitch where we wanted, there were no marked out pitches and as we had no ehu we were spoilt for choice. We were a group of 3 women and 3 children, 2 under 5s.
Facilities spotless, ladies toilets were clean and warm with plenty of loo roll. Washing up room the same. Only stayed for 2 nights so didn't venture off the site except to the shop which was a 5min drive. No showers but the toilets were fine for a strip wash.
Having a fire was a real treat, the logs were 5 pounds a bag and easily lasted from 6pm til midnight, the kids foraged for kindling through the day. The setting is lovely.
Fresh eggs were great. The owners were brilliant, helped me to jump start the car when I had had the radio on all day and worn the battery down, very relaxed and un intrusive but always there if you need anything.
The kids, 2, 4 and 11 loved it, very child friendly and we will definitely be back for ten pounds a night, bargain!

Just got back couple of glorious days here, I loved this place and it is now my personal favourite, the kids loved it and didn't want to come home,
Definitely the big winner was the camp fire, cost us £5 per night per camp fire the wood seemed to last quite well and it was worth it just to have my own little camp fire,
For me my 3 kids in two small tents we were charged £10 per night which I thought was spot on,
The site was lovely small and well kept, basic toilet hut kept nice and clean with plenty of loo roll. Two toilets for women and one for men,
On Saturday night there was a big camp fire for everyone which the kids loved,
It is quite far from any kind of shop though about 3 miles walk, so make sure, if like me you don't drive, that you have everything you need and a bit more (we walked the distance in the hope we could get a taxi back but was quoted £10 for taxi and ended up walking back)
We will definitely be returning and would recommend for those who love the natural side to camping

Visited this site with 2 of our grandchildren in November and was very happy with facilities, we were the only ones there(not surprising as it gave out gale force winds for Sat), but although it's not a very sheltered site we had no problems, girls found a makeshift swing in trees down on bottom of site and enjoyed themselves for a while. The site is level and grass was fairly short.
Toilet facilities were good but could have done with paper towels or hand driers. Only saw the owner for a few minutes when we paid our fees then he left us to get on with it, nice walks with girls in the forest very close by. Selby only 3 miles away and was pleasantly surprised by the lovely little town.
