Fantastic site and the owners make you feel very welcome. The field is flat and has approx 8 electric hook-ups which are 16amp. It is good value for money at £12 per night.
There is plenty of room for the kids to play, At the bottom of the field there are 2 swings for the children to play on. The toilet block is very clean and the washing facilities are also very clean.
At night the owners come around selling wood for a camp fire which costs £5 for a big sack of wood. The owners also have a great selection of steam engines and old cars etc and love to show you around them etc. Its not to far to selby and its only 15 mile to york.
A fantastic site will be booking to go again soon.

Stayed her for 4 nights, main attraction was a real campfire and no clubhouse!
Lovely little spot, once the sun came out, spent one night in downpour ugh.
I disagree with a previous review that the owner was stingy with the wood. We had more than enough, the bag lasted 2 nights. The farmer supplies you with 6 breeze blocks which he lays a sheet of metal on and brings you the wood on his Jcb!(bring some firelighters though) Lots of old interesting engines and monster trucks lying around. Kids loved it and Pauline who I think is the owners mother was lovely. She took our 9 yr old to feed the chickens and collect the eggs.
The stars at night are amazing and we saw quite a few shooting stars whilst sat around our blazing fire. On the negative side we did miss a shower( went swimming to solve that problem) although Pauline said they are putting some in,the site has only been opened since May.
Toilets were clean and tidy and supplied loo roll. Main supermarkets only 10 mins drive, also great chippy in town too.
Be prepared to come home stinking of smoke, but that's the price you pay for a great time. There were no rules about keeping the noise down or playing music and everyone was very friendly.
All in all a little gem, don't want too many to know about it really. Definitely going back!
Just hope the wasps have gone by then.

I stayed at this campsite with my family, I found the owners to be very hospitable.
The owner was kind enough to allow us a tour of his vintage vehicles which for the kids was great.
As for not being very generous with the wood, the large bag that was supplied to us was more than enough for an evening.
We will definitely be returning in the near future and for ten pounds a night it is excellent value.

I would like to be a little more objective than the reviews I read before staying at this site. Yes it is good to have a fire when camping but take your own wood as the owner isn't so generous with his. No showers and one mens toilet. A well used straight road runs along the site. On the plus side the ground is flat and rain soon drains away. A tenner a night is acceptable for the site but is not a bargain. The site is remote, a good 35 minutes walk to anything and the road is bendy with no pavement. To be fair the Fox pub is pleasant and the food is good but best to drive and drink coke.

Loved this site. I picked it out before I left as it had good reviews and was well situated for the A1.
It's only just opened and there's no showers as yet, but good clean toilets and washing up facilities. I was only there for 1 night so going without a shower didn't bother me as I was on my own.
Loved the old steam engines, and was given a show over the workshop with an amazing collection of old show vehicles. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I primarily used the site as a stop over on my way from London to Scotland by Motorcycle, and it's just off the A1,which was handy for me getting up North the next day, it's a very quiet and peaceful area, as I say liked it so much stopped there again on my return journey, and I prefer sites that let you have a campfire.

What a great site, unfortunately could only stay one night. Toilets and wash facilities clean, owner very friendly, but as other reviews say the highlight is the camp fires, what a magical experience everyone sitting around campfires, toasted marshmallows and a glass of wine unmissable.
The Local pub was a short drive away but worth the visit, not cheap food but really good food with a wide menu, outside settees and a football pitch for the kids to play on. Will definitely be going back.

Fantastic! £10 a night and an owner who respects you and understands what real camping is. What else could you want. We had a fantastic weekend, fab hot sunny weather and a riot. Cooking bananas on a campfire and a sing song with help from a few bevvies.
Lovely day in york (only 20 miles) but expensive to park but worth while as its a beautiful place. Toilets spotless but no showers. We made do with babywipes (were only 2 nights) but when we re-visit in aug b/h were going to put up a windbreak for strip wash (4 nights).
Close to shops, pub and selby town. Cant wait for the showers and will be doing weeks + weekends! The owner is so lovely and will re-freeze ice packs and best of all fresh picked eggs for breckie.
Recommend to all!

Over 60 Meet
We took up 9 pitches and had a great time listening to 60s music. The campsite was great the owners exceptionally friendly, toilets very clean and campfires supplied by the owners went down very well until early hours of the morning with all chatting over a bottle or two of wine etc. The weather was perfect.
The grandchildren that came also had a great time as there was plenty of space to play safely they also loved the campsite, fires and vintage vehicles on show.
Even though fresh eggs, ice cream and pop were on sale a small shop would have been ideal.
The campsite was very flat and roomy but only have 16 pitches (some with electricity) so loads of space ideal for parties, meetings etc. We will definitely be going again and recommend it for a great basic camping weekend.

The owners were lovely people, the field is a good size plenty of space for the kids to play. The toilets are nice very clean, we had lots of fun and the kids loved the open campfire we had every evening at a small cost of five pounds for a large sack of wood and bag of kindling.
I would definitely recommend this lovely site, we are going back in 2 weeks and taking a few more tents with us. Plus a tenner a night defo gets our vote.
