Have just returned from this campsite where the staff are really friendly and couldn't do enough to make you feel at home. Free pitch and putt for the children and a small play area, pool table and darts also available in the clubhouse.

There are 2 showers and 2 toilets (24hrs), a pot wash with hot water and a couple of drinking water taps on the campsite. We visited Banbury's open air swimming pool which is about 5 mins away by car and a great afternoon for all.

I think this site has great potential and the staff work hard to please their customers. The clubhouse was open until 9pm and there's a decked patio where you can sit, relax, enjoy a drink and watch the children playing. Oh, and did I mention that it was £9 a night for huge tent, 2 adults, 4 children, 2 dogs and a car all in. Excellent value for money.

Would definitely return.

 Lovely campsite located in countryside.

The road is quite busy though with traffic going past at all hours.

The people here are wonderful, and nothing is too much trouble.

We only stopped overnight on our way home so didn't get chance to see much of the surrounding area but the other people on site were locals and told us all about it.

The facilities are adequate - but no showers as yet but they are planned for the future. They have only just opened this site and they are very keen to please.

My son had a game of pitch & putt which is free for kids and paid £1 for a golf ball which he got to keep.

All in all a lovely site but would be better with a proper toilet block with a shower as the portable loo, although does the job (excuse the pun!) is not the same as the proper thing.

Would definitely return and recommend to others.

We were visiting lego land in windsor so travelled down the night before and camp over at drayton as its around half way from were we live in nantwich cheshire to windsor. What can I say. £9 per pitch per night ! plus points for the site as follows.

Friendly staff, clean and well kept site, clubhouse open to visitors, pool table, table tennis, pitch and put for the kids for free, course lake on site if your into your fishing, driving range, golf course, clean toilets, fresh drinking water close to the tent pitches, huge tent pitches, even with not many lumps hills etc, small play area for the kids.

Cons for the site as follows.

Well not many really to be honest. Yes they don't have a shower (as yet) the main toilets in the club house are closed at 9pm, but there is an outside portaloo a very short walk from the pitches which are kept clean and tidy, sinks in the toilets with running water if you want a shave or a freshen up, and a sink outside for pot washing with hot and cold running water.

If you don't mind roughing it for a few days then this is an excellent site and cheap as chips. We met another family on the site that had been there a week and loved it.

They just went to the local swimming pool down the road for a swim and a shower when they felt the need for a freshen up, so there are ways around the shower problem if you put your mind to it.

If this isn't for you then move on to the other sites around that were quoting us between £30-£40 a night, we didn't mind as the saving we made gave us more money to treat the kids on our lego land trip and I know they preferred that to a shower!

Over all great site, great value for money, loads of take aways, pizza hut and macdonalds 5 mins drive, and we found at least two co-op shops that open till 10pm. We will be back next time we head off back down that area.

We have just stayed here for 3 nights and must say we enjoyed it very much, the staff are very nice and helpful. There are plenty of walks (especially for dog walkers) we walked along side the golf course and past the fishing lake where you come to tracks that take you through woodland and fields, very pleasant. Also if you walk behind the back of the stables you come into the village of Drayton, a nice looking pub to the right (we did not go in) but they do, do food. If you go out the front gate to the mini roundabout there is a bus stop there, which is handy. Also if you go to your left along side the (very nice) housing estate you eventually come to the co-op and apparently takeaways, I would probably say about 20min walk but did not time it, and did not quite make it as it was pouring with rain.

We enjoyed a relaxing drink at the clubhouse on the decking with the dog, would say prices are very reasonable for drinks.

The site itself is slightly sloping (not a problem) very tidy and well kept apparently the electric hook ups have only just been installed, plenty of pitch space. It could be said that the fees are maybe slightly high as there are no showers, all night toilets, or wash up facilities ( we understand there maybe plans to provide these though). A suggestion would be to perhaps introduce a concession for Sun-Thurs to attract more visitors through the quiet weeks ie. Non BH and non school holidays.

We will be pleased to return again and could see this site as an up and coming site for the future, if facilities are installed.

We visited here over a bank holiday weekend and the site had plenty of vacancies, there were only about 4 tents through out the weekend.

The site itself is situated next to a 'B' road although the traffic was not a problem. The site staff are very welcoming and helpful. Nice views of fields, would recommend for short visits of 1- 2 nights.

There are a couple of gripes firstly

No showers and the toilet block is in the golf shop which shuts at 2100.

Also no pot washing facilities.

If these 2 problems were rectified I think this would be a more busier place.

We found this site on UKCampsite.co.uk when all the other local sites were full over the bank holiday weekend.

As we live only 25 miles away we went for a nose first and were warmly welcomed by the owners in the club house.

At that time there was not any hook ups installed but a few weeks later when we arrived we were surprised and pleased to see them.

Once again we were made very welcome and nearly had the whole site to ourselves.

What a cracking site with loads of future potential. I only hope it does not get too popular so we can't get in in future.

We like minimalist sites but there are plans afoot for an amenity building which will be the icing on the cake for many people.

Very easy site to relax in with more easy walks and places to visit than you can shake a stick at

We will definitely be going back.
