We decided to stay here after I saw the web site and the prices and thought it was reasonable as some sites are getting so expensive.
We have a larger tent so were put on one of their larger pitches which was marked out with white lines and electric ( you do need long leads though) the other part of the field was just go where ever you liked. The beginning of the week was lovely and quiet but towards the weekend it got quite busy.
The site is next to the river with a lovely walk into Wareham with a selection of food shops. We had a wet day so went to the cinema with our daughter which was like stepping back in time but was lovely and busy.
It is central so Bournemouth Poole and Weymouth are all with in reasonable reach and there are lovely walks around the campsite.
The toilets and shower block are always clean and tidy and once you work out the showers they are fine.
We had a nice week and will be coming back again.

In theory this should have been a perfect site, the location is great. Easy to get to and right on the river. Only a short walk along the river into Wareham. Plenty of places for eating and drinking.
But we were so very disappointed. When we arrived the 'office' (old caravan) was shut. We pulled on to the site looking for reception then had to walk back to the caravan. There was a notice that told you to just find a pitch and they would find you later.
We found a pitch that was sort of flat and had electric. Luckily we filled up with water at a previous site as we couldn't fill up our campervan with water. You couldn't attach hoses and there wasn't a tap to turn on, just a push button.
My husband went into the toilets and wasn't impressed. I went in and came out very shortly afterwards. They may have been clean but they were so old and just looked dirty. I didn't want to shower there and certainly didn't want to take in a young baby. No mention was made of having to pay for showers, ok so its not much, but it should be mentioned somewhere.
We had hope to stay there for a few nights, but in the end moved on after just 1. OK if you don't expect too much, but I did as it wasn't a cheap site. Disappointing.

Have had a very relaxing holiday at this lovely campsite. The children enjoyed the lovely walk into the town each day to collect our provisions along the river bank, lots of boats on the river.
There was a Sainsburys in the town and lots of other shops. There was a market on the quay on Saturday morning where we bought some delicious bread! We enjoyed a special meal at the granary restaurant and recommend the Italian also on the quay.
So maybe the toilet block is a little bit dated but it had all that was necessary and was kept very clean. We found 20p gave a good shower. I actually found this easier than having to purchase tokens. Freezer blocks could be frozen in the garage of the farmhouse for no charge. There were electric hook ups though we didn't need one, which meant we were able to pitch where we wanted in the large camping field.
The site was relaxed, the owners came around in the mornings to collect payment. They usually had time for a friendly word. There was no noise during our visit other than other campers.
The children made lots of friends and enjoyed the freedom of being able to ride their bikes around safely. There was a volleyball net for older children but no other play area. Ours didn't seem to worry about that. My husband took his kayak and was able to use the slipway to launch from and paddled down to the harbour.
The surrounding area had lots to do. We enjoyed a visit to Arne, monkey world and the beautiful beach at Studland. The children enjoyed Kimmeridge recommended by the owners and collected some fossils!
Would we go back the children certainly hope so!

A well set out, interesting Basic Campsite next to the River Frome, used by many boating families / non boating families. Ideal site for Boat launching / Hire / Trips to Poole Harbour.
It has a modern Toilet / Shower Block.
The far field was quieter and had space to play ball games. One field was full up with well spaced out caravans with awnings, another area saved for Solo / Adults only.
Down the track was a Boat Club House, and a 15 minute trail along the river took you to the Granary Pub with it's balconies overlooking the river. There were plenty of shops.
We found a Sainsburys, Chinese and a Market on Saturday. We had no noise problems. If booking high season, book early.
Will definitely go again, lots more to explore.

The good :=}
The site is located right next to the river.
There is a slipway owned by the site. You can launch your boat and be up at Wareham in minutes or go down to Poole Harbour.
A ten minute walk along the river tow-path gets you into Wareham where there is fish & chips, shops, pubs and a market on a Saturday.
You can cycle out of the site and take the quiet back lanes to Arne reserve or detour to Corfe Castle.
The staff are relaxed and helpful and don't chase you off the site at 12:01 on your departure day. (In fact we stayed quite a bit later than that!)
The bad :={
Access is a little bit awkward - but there are passing places.
The 'Reception' is a bit temporary. It's an old caravan!
You must pay 'Cash On Arrival' - No EPOS here!
Many of the pitches are sloping so you will probably need blocks.
There was some noise - music from a nearby camp site 'til 11ish.
The ugly :={{
The showers. Yes they are a bit 70's but why do the owners think that it's a good idea to have a meter where you put 20p in a a slot to get a few minutes water. Once the 20p runs out the water goes off so make sure you take an extra 20p.
The pitches aren't really any cheaper than many other sites we stay at and although decor and quality varies, I can't recall the last time you needed money for the showers. Get this sorted and it'd be hard to fault.

I have very mixed feelings about it TBH!
Access is via steep narrow lane with a steep drop the other side. Meeting others from other way is problematic.
This site attracts many regular seasonal users & large activity driven families. Many bring boats.
Boats mean a noisy early start if they have ordered a delivery of fuel or if the portable loos halfway down the site are being exchanged. It is a very pleasant site for the most part. But on the 2 visits we have made there has been issues with noise into the early hours.
Noise tended to be from the seasonal users. We felt the owners were reluctant to tackle the issue with them.
The site is basic & prone to turning to mud after heavy rain
The Toilet/Shower block needs updating but otherwise functional.
Off peak this site should be fun to use!
The walk into Wareham takes 15mins & is pleasant but shopping is basic there, so don't expect too much!
If you don't mind noise & big families then this site may be for you.
We much prefer quieter sites nowadays so are unlikely to return.
I hope it has improved over the past few years!
