Having stayed at several campsites in and around the Swanage area, all of which required a car journey to access amenities, this time we chose a site close to Wareham, a small market town 20 minutes by car from the beach.
From the campsite, the town is reached via a 15 minute stroll along a riverside path at the end of which is the bus stop to Swanage. Wareham has a Sainsburys, a Savers and about 6 pubs. What more could you want?
Redcliffe Farm Campsite is on a nice flat, well maintained field with a mixture of caravans, tents and pitches with EHU`s. The shower block was clean, showers 20p for 5 minutes and there was never a queue, probably due to the fact that many of the caravans, complete with awnings and judging by the long grass skirting them, where there on a semi permanent basis visited only at Weekends.
We pitched on a small elevated position just around the corner from the shower block. The main area set aside for tents not requiring EHU appeared to be a small field at the far end. Although there was a Portaloo it would still be quite a trail to the showers, bins etc.
To sum up, Redcliffe Farm Campsite is quiet, is ideally situated for the beach and Wareham with a nice relaxed atmosphere and a good mix of tents and caravans. There is no club house or children`s entertainment in any form or fashion. Of all the campsites in the Bournemouth/Swanage area we have stopped at over the years, this is the one we would return to!

I chose this site for the location and accessibility to the river and we weren't disappointed.
It's a 10minute walk into the lovely Wareham and free access to the slipway, ideal for paddleboarding, kayaking and motor boats etc.
The site is quite big with a separate field to walk the dogs. During the week it was lovely and quiet, ideal for us and a bit busier on the weekends.
It was a perfect location for us to explore other parts of Dorset. Lulworth Cove is a must and is only 20mins away.
Only reason I haven't given a 10 is due to paying 20p per shower. It wasn't really problem, I just had to wash and shave my legs in record time 😂.
Wouldn't hesitate to return.

Quiet site, good clean toilet and shower block, good showers, but you do need a 20p coin.
Friendly staff.
Great location, a lovely riverside walk to Wareham

Lovely site, nice & quiet & in a good location, short walk by the river & you are in wareham. Where you can catch a bus to several different places or walk a little further to the railway station.
Everything you need in wareham for shopping.
Nick met us when we arrived & also came to say goodbye.

Dream campsite literally, so quiet at night.
Lovely field well spaced out, we had a view of empty field with deer wandering across.
It’s quite a walk to toilet block (800 steps) so great for keeping fit not so great if you are bursting.

Very peaceful and relaxing campsite. It is not modern with lots of facilities but that's what we like.
Clean showers and toilets.
You can walk into Wareham up the river path and it only takes 10 minutes each way.
Our 4 year old children could manage it easily.
It would be nice to have more electric points in the family field.
Overall we love staying there.

This was our third visit and it won't be our last,
We just love it here, such a laid back place and in such a lovely peaceful area.
Easy going owners.
Lovely walks, especially along the river bank to Wareham.

What a lovely, simple campsite.
Close to the river, pleasant and hands-off hosts,
Lots of space and a variety of spaces to suit a variety of campers.
Terrific.
We will be back.

Nice owners very welcoming. The showers, toilets and washing up facilities are kept lovely and clean. Went there as I wanted to use my dinghy and their slipway.
Not sure why we had to pay £2. 50 per night extra for our dog when we leave no sign that he was there. They do mow a path around a field as a dog walk which is handy though.
Nice easy walk into Wareham town Visited the site a couple of times now and would visit again

Tuesday to Friday at end of may after bank holiday weekend. We had nice spot, plenty of room at end of 2nd row from front near to shower/toilet, this is a large block of toilets and 3 showers,
Large area neat slipway houses the reception which we never see open, a map is stuck to front with your name and spot to pitch, , warden drives around regular for money etc.
Lovely walk along river bank to Wareham for pubs, restaurants etc.
Lot of narrow roads and entrance to site is also bit narrow until you reach the end of the lane where the river is.
