This site is as stated its perfect, grass cut every time someone leaves,
The showers are top notch, ( well it is a new one )
We had an all service pitch, the pitches could do with being a tad bigger, on putting the awning up and parking the car, I could lean out the car window and touch my friends van, but its no big deal,
There is fishing on the river but you cannot catch much due to the vast amount of eels in there, but I might have been unlucky,
There are a lot of statics on site, it has a playground at the top of the site, but the children were racing round the road on bikes and scooters in between my van and car, not impressed with that, it only takes a slip and your car or van is marked, but I blame 'not round our van' parents, the site needs to address this.
Would I book again yes but when kids back at school.

This site is something special. It has the best shower and toilet facilities I have ever had the pleasure of visiting.
We had a 'super' site, well worth the extra price, I shall endeavour to get this type of pitch every time.
A good bus service just outside the camp, but if you don't mind walking there is a path along side the river Stour to Iford bridge and to Tesco.
If you are in to fishing this site is ideal, a great river just running along side the camp, the river Stour.
Plenty of wildlife and almost certain to see Kingfishers.

This is our second year at meadowbank and have already booked for next year. The site is very quiet and peaceful. We had a luxury pitch which are a good size and plenty of room between each pitch.
On site there is a reception, a well stocked shop, toilet block which has been refurbished to a five star standard, laundry room and a large kids play area and a games room.
Tv reception is poor, to get a half decent reception you will need a good external ariel and booster.
If you are looking for a lively site with entertainment then this is not the site for you. We look forward to going back next year.

Meadowbank is situated about 5 min drive from the priory town of Christchurch. It is close to Bournemouth, Boscombe and the New Forest.
What a beautiful site. It was clean, well laid out and with large pitches. The river runs through the back of the site and the river walk was gorgeous.
The toilet block was immaculate with huge showers which stayed on without pressing. There were wash rooms, baby changing and toilets. It was always clean and tidy with fresh flowers most days.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the shop was well stocked. Prices were about average for the site shop.
The staff actually went around the site and made sure that every thing was as it should be.
Lots of local pubs and restaurants.
There was a park for the children and a huge grassy playing field right next to the site.
We will book again.

I doubt I will return to this site, but only because it does not allow dogs and usually, I have my dogs with me. This site was easy to get to. It looked lovely,so well cared for and beautifully laid out with good even pitches.
The only down side was that I could get no TV signal at all, maybe I was too near the trees ? I did get a strong dongle signal though, good enough to watch TV on catch up online with my T Mobile dongle.
On site facilities were excellent, a well stocked shop, great laundry room, a really efficient iron ! that's a first on a campsite ! good washing up area and shower/toilet block with the option of a bath and a good sized washing line area.
A big supermarket was only minutes drive away and Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre only 4.9 from the site, a 13 minute car journey.

On arrival at meadowbank everything looked just great with a lot of excitment we booked in and was dealt with at reception really good and given directions to our pitch.
Approaching our pitch my heart sunk somewhat. It was only just about big enough to get my van on but my big concern was the enormous tree and bushes we were under. The grass was bare in fact patchy soil. No groundsheets are allowed. This was a disappointment as i really thought this site was a top banana place with the sun not getting on us till the afternoon we were out early.
When we did get the chance to relax in the sun there is constant droning of traffic coming from a nearby main road which drove me bonkers.
Apart from this everything was tidy and in place the toilet and shower block was fine. I did a total of 430 miles during our visit there are some fantastic places and more than enough to do in this area I would return to see more but sadly not at this site.

This is the 3rd time I have visited this site but quite a while since my last visit. I don't think I would stay here again due to the noise levels which drove hubby mad which was from the increased traffic since our last visit. The noise comes from the by pass road which cannot been seen from the site which is adjacent to a private housing estate but the noise does seem to travel.
Booked a fully services pitch with own water and drainage, remember to take extra long waste tubing otherwise the on pitch drain not much use.
Site very clean, showers free and hot, free hair dryers also.
Shop on site for milk etc and well stocked reception for information on local area.
Television reception very poor for touring vans, status aerial, most vans with this type of aerial had additional outside aerials although there is an aerial point on the fully serviced pitches it's not connected up!
There is about 40 touring pitches, the std pitches are poor (small/tiny), I would not like to think I was going on my holiday and staying on one of those for a week etc, I have seen better late arrival pitches on other sites, there is hardly any individual private space and these pitches are on top of one another.
The rest of the park is for static vans, there is a lot crammed in and a lot more than I seem to remember the last time I visited, I think the site has expanded, The site looked like it was busy when we were there with the amount of cars parked outside the static vans but it was still very quiet. The static vans overlook one row of the touring pitches, we were lucky that the van opposite ours was empty the whole time we were there, otherwise we would have felt like we were in a gold fish bowl.
The river Stour runs past the site and the river walks are lovely.
There is the no 21 bus stop outside the site and the X1 & X2 a couple of streets further away, ask reception for a timetable. Take the stress out of trying to find parking spaces in places like Christchurch, Bournemounth, Lymington etc, if you are a pass holder it's free, if not the fares are very reasonable, return from Bournemouth £3.30 I think or an all day ticket for the yellow bus £3.60, well worth it.
This is just my personal opinion, if you don't mind the road noise and being overlooked by a static van then this site is for you but in future I will be sticking to just a touring site.

A great site. Wasn't far from main towns. Ideal area for exploring. Very clean washblocks. Area well maintained.
Had a superpitch which includes waste, water point etc and was worth the extra.
Wardens very welcoming and cheerful and helpful.
Well stocked shop for bits we needed.
Will always return for our weekends in bournemouth

I've been going to this site since I was 2 yrs old and I'm now 50! Other than modernisation of the toilets (which were always excellent & are spotless at any time of day) and a flood bank it hasn't changed at all. The toilet block has a bath, as well as showers. There's a room with a pool table but if you want "entertainment" this is probably not the site for you. It's very quiet. We stayed on an economy pitch, as we only have a small van & hadn't booked. These pitches *are* small but near to the loos and fresh water. Great riverside walks (fishing permits from reception) & nearby Christchurch is a delight with shops, river, priory walk and harbour. There are various small shops in The Grove, 10 mins walk away, or Tesco nearby as others have said. We'll be back, needless to say.

We had a smashing holiday. The site is extremely well kept and the toilet/showers are very clean. Our children met some nice friends and they enjoyed playing at the excellent play areas both on site and just before the entrance. The site is a great location to travel to a number of different areas - The new forest, the gorgeous beaches, and we also went crabbing at Mudeford quay. We stayed on a luxury pitch which was great, we didn't have to empty the waste and the water hog was filled without having to move it. The only problem was we kept forgetting to fill it up as we didn't have to think about it! We enjoyed our stay so much, we have already booked our pitches for next year.
