This is a very nice campsite. Very peaceful and quiet. Ideally located for exploring this area of Devon. Staff in reception very friendly and helpful. On site wardens regularly patrolling the site and also appeared very friendly.
No on-site shop, but a fully stocked shop within a 5 - 10 minute walk of the site. Pub within walking distance ( along a main and very busy road ). Toilets and showers ok. Clean and tidy. Washing up area under cover and again, very clean and tidy. Children's play area a bit disappointing. I have a 5 and 9 year old and they were bored after a very short time. The play area field is very big ( just not much in it ) and I do feel they could make much better use of the space available. There is an information room with lots of leaflets on attractions in the local area etc, magazines and books also there to borrow. Small freezer also available for ice packs.
This site has 2 camping sections. One section is in the meadow which is predominantly for tents with no allocated pitches and no electric hook ups. Here it looks as though you can pitch where you like and space didn't seem at be a problem. As we wanted electric we were allocated a grass pitch in the other section. All of these pitches are numbered and are not overly big in size. We have got a big 9 man tent, but we did consider ourselves to be quite tight for space ( compared to other sites we have stayed at before with the same tent ). Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would possibly return in the future ( if we bought a smaller tent ! ).

Our van is stored here and yet again we had a great weekend away. This is only our 3rd time in the van but we find the wardens so friendly and helpful and the site spotless and well run. The children on site are by and large well behaved and pulled up for any bad behaviour pretty quickly! We find it a perfect location for the beach or the moors or the local woods. It is just so handy for everywhere really. I have never queued for a shower, and the loos and showers are very clean at all times. It is a pleasure to stay here and we never want to come home!

Have just arrived back from a fantastic week at this site. The owners were so friendly and very helpful. The site itself was great. We were by the meadow and, although it was a bank holiday weekend and full, we never felt cramped. The pitch we had was huge and there was plenty of room for our frame tent, the car and all the other associated camping stuff. There was lots of wildlife to be seen, the site has a David Bellamy silver award, including rabbits, foxes and we saw a mole hill being dug up from below! The toilets and showers were always clean with plenty of hot water. The wash up area was undercover and again had lots of hot water, also a bowl and drainer were provided which was very useful. The play area was a big hit with the children, there are no roads as such so it was safe for them to play. The only downside we had was that we were down wind of the sewage tank for the caravans! We will not let that put us off going back there again though and cannot wait for next year.Babbacombe is definitely worth a visit, the model village and the beach are lovely

This was an excellent site. It was spotlessly clean and there were cloths and mops in the toilet blocks/showers/ashing up area/laundry and notices to encourage people to wipe around the sinks etc when finished using them. It was very quiet, apart from the roar of the traffic on the nearby A38, but which we never really took much notice of. There was a big play area for the children (bats/balls etc available to use from reception - we didn't need to have taken our own!) The tent pitch was very spacious though on a slight slope, & nothing but green fields behind us. Loads of rabbits, grasshoppers & crickets; our camping neighbours even had a mouse & a nest of babies under their tent! Wonderfully peaceful & relaxing.

We had a lovely weekend here (despite arriving in a downpour) Made very welcome , they could not do enough for us. Very clean, pretty and level pitches. We stayed on the meadow and it was like being in the heart of the country. Very quiet at night, just lovely. Will stay again.

We used this site in August 2005 for 10 days camping. The facilities were excellent, well kept and spotlessy clean. There was also a small freezer for ice packs at no extra cost and an information centre. The meadow for the tent pitches had a huge area for the children to run around in, as well as this there was another grassed area that had a board to kick a football against, a tennis and a badminton net, a table tennis table, some climbing equipment, swings and still plenty of room for playing football, rugby, rounders, cricket etc.
The site was very quiet with no late night noise - which with two young children suited us. It was ideally placed for both Dartmoor and the beach and was very close to Exeter. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site to anyone. We were made to feel very welcome by the park wardens.
