We stayed here during the half term holidays. The site was busy but no overly so. The toilet facilities were very good. Clean and tidy with plenty of hot water. The play area was great for the children ( 9 & 5) even after busy days in london. It is cheaper to buy the 1 day travel passes on site than an oyster card. It takes about an hour in total to get into the center of London using the bus that goes from the site and the tube.
Turn left out of the campsite and straight over at the roundabout to find tesco's the nearest supermarket not right like we did and spent a hour driving around for nothing.
There is a small shop on site which sells the basics and has a lot of leaflets on whats on and what to visit.
Overall a great little site we would definitely return.

For us a family of 5 it was ideal for visiting London
There is a bus that comes on sites and takes you to the underground (20/25 mins away ) then get the train direct into London in 20mins
I have been told that the bus comes to the site from April until September, out of these dates you do have to go to bus stop about half a mile away
All day travel passes are sold on site and only £6.20 per adult £2.50 child under 11 are free. This is for bus, train and underground
The site wardens were very helpful
Although it was bank holiday it was not full, toilets were clean and showers, although small, again did the job
Would recommend this site for visiting the capital
There is a small park
There is a police helicopter base nearer by, but did not bother us
Nice mix British, France and Dutch on site
Heard no noise at night plenty of rabbits running around, great site

Wardens helpful, but the site was very boggy and muddy during our visit, due to the heavy rains the week before. Most pitches are not very flat making it a challenge to level the van.
The hard standing pitches are narrow for a caravan and awning - and the 'grass' where the awning would go was just large piles of mud - not suitable for use.
The site was convenient for Chingford - a good selection of restaurants and take-aways - but it seemed a bit rough on the Friday night when I went to get a take-away and was delayed somewhat by people fighting in the street!
There is no access to the reservoirs from the site and to walk in the Lee Valley park you need to take the car to get to an entrance.
The site seems to be concentrating on setting up Static vans in all the prime locations.
Facilities were generally good and there is a small shop on site - but is only open 'council' working hours!

Site is easy to find and peaceful. Disappointingly no direct access to the reservoirs. Also worth noting the bus does not come to the site until May, so a walk to the stop ,path not too good would not be suitable for young children or pushchairs/wheelchairs etc. But having said that easy to get into London once there. £6.30 all day pass available from reception. Last bus back at around midnight, allow about an hour to get to Oxford circus. Lots of work going on around the site delayed we understand by the bad winter will be better once complete. Wardens could not be more helpful would visit again.

This is a useful site - given that there are no sites really close to the centre of London. It's a toss up whether it's a better journey from here or from the Lee Valley site in Edmonton. From here you have to catch a bus. In summer that would be great as it stops outside the site but otherwise it's a walk of ten to fifteen minutes along an appallingly maintained narrow pavement alongside a surprisingly busy main road but at least you can then get directly onto the underground (Victoria Line). You can buy travel passes from the site shop.
The other problem currently is that the site is being re-developed and is extremely muddy.
All good otherwise - I saw no problem with the toilets and the staff were as helpful as you could wish. There's a nice pub that serves very good food less than a mile up the road when you turn right outside the site and the pavement's much better in that direction. I'm sure the regional park has a great deal to offer.

Great site, pitches spacious, friendly & helpful staff. Plenty of toilet blocks. Very busy as site full but remained peaceful & not too loud. Perfect site position for going into London centre, bus to train station stops right outside camp. Site shop stocks basics. Plenty of take-aways locally too. Well kept tidy site - will definitely go back there again.

We've stayed at Lee Valley a lot as it's an ideal site for London - just hop on the bus to Walthamstow and then on the Tube to town. I think the bus only runs from May to October though.
Site - it's great - quite big and quiet despite being on a main road. Staff are helpful though the shop/reception closes for lunch - usually when you've just arrived :-)
It can be busy but not overcrowded and enough facilities for everyone in a few blocks. Always very very clean too and in tip-top condition.
We'll probably be heading down to London again and be staying at Lee Valley, naturally.

We arrived on a beautiful bank holiday weekend, expecting the site to be noisy and overcrowded, but it was pretty good actually. The managers were very friendly and helpful and showed us to a spacious pitch.
The site has a little park which was great for the kids to let off steam. The reception shop stocked an assortment of very reasonably priced groceries and souvenirs. They also sold daily travel cards for using on the bus or tube etc. And the bus literally stopped at the site. It took you to Walthamstow Central, where we hopped on the tube into London. The shop kindly provided a map of the underground too.
After a hectic day in the capital, it was nice to get back to a more 'countryside' feel.
However, as has been previously mentioned, the toilet / shower block did leave a bit to be desired at times, and there was quite a lot of noise from planes, trains and roads, but on the whole, this is a top site for visiting London and all it's attractions. We would use it again.

Very pretty site, but not the cleanest! Toilets and Showers in the Reception block nice and clean with automatic door closers. Of the other 2 blocks one was closed and the other was not at all well cleaned. No soap in dispensers the whole week we were there, replacement toilet rolls left in cubicles, not put in holder drums. External doors always open, (even though we closed them after each visit), could do with closers being fitted. No apparent heating in the lower block which was open, even in late May it was a bit chilly!
Grounds well kept but recently filled trenches cross pitches. Enormous clouds of midges in the evening, sounded like rain on the tent. Also ants a big problem. Quite noist, overflying planes, traffic noise from across the valley and police support helicopter based nearby and flying at all times of day and night,(Pop into Boots and get some Earfit foam earplugs!)

Positive, very easy to get to central London via bus which stops at the site. Reasonably priced. Nice amount of toilets and showers. Good play area for kids. Not too many many anti kid adults. Very friendly staff. Nice area for tents. It felt like being in the countryside and very safe.
Minor negatives the main road nearby was a little noisy (but it was London and I didn't drink enough wine).
In short a top site for visiting London or on route away from the place!I will be back
