Didn't want to go far from home for the 3 nights of the late May Bank Holiday weekend so booked this site based on previous reviews.
This site has lots of positive points: it is immaculately kept; the pitches are large & level; and the owners couldn't be more friendly or accommodating. The plentiful facilities were always clean and tidy.
The shop was well stocked with basics. Although we had no cause to use the laundry facilities, they looked first class. Several people at the site kept their caravans there permanently. They were all very friendly and chatty - it was as though you'd just moved into a new neighbourhood, which was very nice.
However, we did find some negative points too. We never once managed to have even a half-decent shower. For the first minute or so there was a promising steady stream of hot water but then the shower stopped completely and, when it restarted, only a trickle of warm water came out - and I am not exaggerating when I say 'trickle'. It happened in all 4 of the showers we tried, at different times of the day / evening. We ended up going back home to shower. The other negative point was the lack of artificial light in the indoors washing up facility as early as 2145 in the evening on all 3 nights.
Despite the lack of water in the showers, there was always plenty with which to wash up. The pool looked great but, despite the hot weather all over the weekend, it was not open until the Sunday afternoon. A great shame. However, once open, it was well used.
As it was the start of half-term, not surprisingly, there were lots of children on the site. Unfortunately some parents thought it perfectly acceptable to converse loudly with their offspring and allow them to run screaming around the site at 0730 in the morning. One large group of people in tents had a young child with them that woke up screaming several times each night.
However, it WAS a lovely site, full of mostly lovely people. It was just too noisy for us & with not enough water to shower in.

We are one of the many annual regulars to this peaceful and friendly site. The facilities are top quality. The owners will try to accommodate your every day needs, even try to help out of hours if they can. The facilities are clean and tidy, with a disabled toilet, also large sink area for wet suit washing.
Ample washing facilities in the main block.
There is a large tumble dryer and washing machine within the block, washing up sinks in the same area as well as a Free freezer for campers ice pack is a nice touch.
The site still looks tidy even after the awful weather of last summer and before.
The shop is adequately stocked, daily papers can be ordered, but a must is some fresh meat, bacon and the sausages are a must,( But Leave some for me)these are from the local butcher.
The pool is great and is a sun trap when the sun is shining. Beaches nearby, easy access from the A30. Flat level pitches, ideal games room and climbing frame for the kids, and a large field at the lower end of the park, for tents etc and for the kids to let off steam.
The take-away is very good value for money. I am not going to say anymore TRY IT YOURSELVES! what a gem of a site.

When arriving at the site we had mixed feeling like most sites you have never been to before. That soon changed.
What a lovely little site, the owner are very friendly and very, very helpful.
The site is kept clean and tidy,so to are the shower and toilet block.Nice hot showers. Might have to wait for a shower in busy times.
The swimming pool is in a good place with the sun on it most of the day, good idea with the toddler pool.
The play area and games room are good for kids to play.
The on site fish&chip van is really good, fresh cooked food at good prices.
We are already planning our return visit.
Was sad to leave.
WHAT A GREAT HOLIDAY ON A GREAT SITE!.

Very friendly and safe site. Lovely outdoor pool safe and close enough for older children to access independently. Play area small but adequate and again safe. Games room with TV and pool table for bad weather days. Shop on site, very friendly and helpful couple run the site and shop (also chip kiosk 3/4 nights a week). In 3rd field only toilets and wash-up facilities, 2 mins walk to top field with showers, laundry and lots of loos. Lots of space around well kept pitches. Very relaxed and quiet even though full. Fantastic location mid Cornwall, 2 beaches just over a mile away. Close enough to St Ives, St. Michael's Mount or Eden Project all worth a visit. We will be going back.

Great pitches - owners very helpful when booking, couldn't do enough to help meet our needs - great toilet block always plenty of hot water, at any time of day - also family bathroom invaluable - chip van, food cooked to order, may have to wait when there's a 'rush' but worth it - great location for visiting Cornwall.

August 2004 We only went on a short break to visit friends in Cornwall. This site had everything we were looking for. Showers, Toilets and all other facilities were very good (no cold showers!!!!). The swimming pool was a very good addition, as our children used it all the time we were there. The owners of this site couldn't do enough for you. I would definately recommend this site to anybody and we will certainly be back.

July 2003 Lovely family site, all the facilities were clean and well maintained. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. Showers/washing/drying and toilet facilities were excellent. For Dads holidaying on their own with kids, especially 3 daughters! the family shower room was fantastic. Loads of good beaches, days out within striking distance. Redruth and Supermarket within 10 mins although the small on site shop was well stocked with lots of goodies for the kids to buy. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again

July 2001 This is an absolute gem of a site, not too big but with plenty of facilities and I think, it was a well kept secret. They don't seem to do too much advertising which is the only reason I can think of for it not being overflowing. There is a good selection of showers, ie a family room/disabled, 2 uni-sex plus the ones in the gents and ladies, which are not the silly push button jobs and are free.Free dishwashing water etc.Freezer for ice packs and an outdoor swimming pool, ideal for the kids (& me)Chip van several nights a week plus a TV room for when it rains or for essential Big Brother viewing, when most of the site seemed to gather to watch! We are going again this year as it is one of the best and cleanest sites we've been to!
