I have visited this site three times now, its location is ideal, easily within walking distance of the town and beach of perranporth. It is in a lovely tranquil setting in the off season, the facilities are adequate if a little rustic. Having to pay 20p for a shower is a little annoying when the rates for staying are not the cheapest in the area (£20.50 per night in June for 2 adults tent and hook up). The biggest and frankly terminal let down is the complete inability of the owners to answer their phone or respond to messages left on their answer machine, I actually phoned roughly every half hour 8.00-19.00for 4 days and got nothing but their answer machine, I left several messages and got no response. "they do not take bookings or return phone calls" I was informed on Aug bank holiday "it is first come first served if you can find a space come back to reception and pay" I have seen Glastonbury festival quieter!. can we reserve a space for our friends arriving in 4 Hours ? "we do not take reservations especially this weekend" we were told, funny how some pitches had reserved signs on them! Maybe a bit of an elitist club vibe going on here. I think this shows a real contempt for their clientele to expect people to turn up at busy times of the year on the off chance of maybe getting a space, we saw several groups be turned around in the few minutes we were there on Aug bank hol. Stay just out of town in one of the other campsites for a much friendlier/professional approach. What you spend on in town parking you will save on cheaper camping rates.

July 2005 I would like to add my comments "in reply" to the other review of this campsite. I believe it is called Perranporth Camping and Touring Park, though admittedly it is in Fernleigh Road. I have visited this site several times in the past.
I have always had trouble getting in contact with them by phone, to check availablity etc, and have previously found the owner a bit grumpy sometimes.
The pricing structure is a bit variable, never quite sure how the total is arrived at, but it is normally close to what I expected.
The site is very nice, in a comfortable way, terraced, with some shade from the trees. The pool and bar are a bonus (you can even have a bath!), as is its very close situation to the town and beach. I will be going back again!
On my last visit, I unexpectedly hurt my leg, on the last walk on the beach before driving home! The lady in the shop and the owner were kindness itself to me, even collecting my car from the other side of the town and driving me back to the pitch I had left that morning - all memory of grumpiness has been replaced by realisation that not everyone is on holiday!
All in all I rate this as a great campsite!

We stayed here in late August 2004 and it seems to have changed name to Perranporth Camping and Touring Park. We really enjoyed our stay here and were only charged £15 a night for 2 people and a tent (going down to £10 a night in the first week of September) which we thought was a fair price. It's a nice campsite and is great for location to the beach and shops. The only let down was the condition of the toilets and shower blocks, which could really do with being kept cleaner and being modernised.
